Dear Bacon

20120722-211100.jpg

Dear Bacon – I need some help.  My master continues to dress me in this silly outfit.  I’m not a big fan.  When I wear it and we go out on the town, everyone is really sociable though.

They always say, “Hello Kitty”.  They’re really nice about it.  I on the other hand just can’t stand the outfit and I don’t get it.  What can I do?  Signed – Purr in Distress

Dear Purr in Distress – You don’t get it do you… Hello Kitty?  Do you ever surf the net?  Do you ever google Hello Kitty?

You know what – go for it.  Wear it with pride.  You look really darling and I caught myself saying, “Hheelloo Kkiittyy.”

20120722-211117.jpg

Dear Bacon – See, I have talent too.  I love to ride my bicycle around our little village.  People see me rolling – they know I’m hip.  So it’s got training wheels – you gotta start somewhere and I love this thing.

You ever thought about riding a bicycle little pig?  Signed – Hip to the Hop

Dear Hip to the Hop – Have you looked at me lately?  My legs are a little challenged.  My front legs are shorter than my back legs.

My tushy is made for comfort not speed.  I’m not into exercise unless it involves putting food into my mouth.  But, hey more to you dude.  Ride it with pride!

20120722-211345.jpgDear Bacon – Every morning we get up and look at the window.  It’s our time to sit and reflect with each other.  Here lately, this stupid bird gets right in the window and puts his tail feathers in our faces.  What is up with that?!  What is this birds gone wild or something.  We are minding our own business and this chick has to do this?  What can we do?  Signed – Purr Things of Reflection

Dear Purr Things of Reflection –  You have to admit that’s kind of funny.  You know, I’m not saying ya’ll do, but a lot of purr things chase after birds.  Maybe this bird is “pigeonholing” ya’ll into one little category.  Thank you – I thought that was funny too.  Maybe try a different window in the house.  Maybe try ignoring the bird.  Reflect on my purr things and be the better kitty!

Dear Bacon – Every morning my adopted father comes out of the shower naked.  I can’t help to look like this every time I see him.  I mean, why would you shower naked?  I don’t take my fur off, do you?  Will this shocked look ever stop?  Signed – My Face May Freeze

Dear  My Face May Freeze – Hang in there little man.  Humans do weird things like that.  My mother likes to sit in the water full of bubbles in the dark with candles.  Now that is strange to me!  Seeing your parent without clothes is natural to them.  Be tough little guy.  It’ll become second nature to you soon.

I’ve Created a New Season – Happy Sprinter

This picture is from Wikipedia.  It shows the typical seasons – Spring, Summer, Fall and then Winter.  That’s the way it’s suppose to fall.  But this year, dear old Mother Nature is not playing fairly.  Mommy says she needs hormone shots and daddy says she needs more dates with Father Time.  I’m not sure which one is right.  I just know that maybe she needs a kick in the butt.  Yep, I said.  I kick right smack in the middle of her captains quarters.

You see, this weekend is what I’m talking about.  Saturday here at the Hotel Thompson we get up and it is beautiful.  There’s no other way to put it.  The birds are chirping (and that’s a story for another time – snorts), the sun is out, the wind is just right and the temperatures are in the 60’s.  You couldn’t ask for a more gorgeous day.

20140112-143627.jpg

Our neighbor Big Daddy had cut our yard and the back yard was spectacular.  Thanks Big Daddy!  We went out there and ran for a while.  Mommy says it was for me to get some sun and I said I understood.  Secretly I knew she wanted me to run some excess Winter weight off so I would sleep more deeply tonight.  I’m good with that.  I just wonder why she didn’t make daddy do the same.  Double snorts.

It was a wonderful day.  Lots of running, loving and snuggles.

Then BAM!  What a change Sunday.  Sunday brought us rain, cool weather and strong winds.  We could actually sit inside and hear the winds!  We all got up and had breakfast together.  It was so damp and yuck outside that after breakfast, we all went back to bed.  Now, I’m not hating days like this because usually, like this day, when we go back to bed we all get on the Select Comfort for a siesta.  It was great.

Picture this.  A king sized Select Comfort bed with two humans, one purr things, one pooch and a piggy.  Snorts, Me and Houdini are a 65 with mommy on the Select Comfort.  Daddy and Hemi are a 100.  That’s just too hard for this little oinker.  When we got up from our nap, it was still yuck outside.

Now, I’m telling you all of this for a reason.  It’s suppose to be Spring but it still acts like Winter.  I’m suggesting a new season called – Sprinter.  You get it?  Spring with Winter.  So sometime today, tell someone Happy Sprinter.  Then smile and remember my little story here.  🙂

Happy Sprinter my pals!

Spring is Around the Corner

20130319-083317.jpgI think this says “EVERYTHING” about what I’m feeling – spring is near and around the corner.

I SO CAN’T WAIT!!  It’s time for this little piggy to come out of some hibernation and start moving again.  I miss the days of running throughout the Hotel Thompson and chasing playing with the purr thing and the barky thing.  I just know they’ve missed me too.

And with Spring – you know what else comes – all the wonderful fruits of the season.  Oh, it makes my little mouth water so much.

Is everybody with me on this Spring thing??

Merry Christmas

Last night, I made a deal with Hemi and Houdini.  We were going to hang out near the Mickey Mouse lamp pole all night in hopes of seeing the mysterious Santa Claus.  Mom/dad told us all that he wouldn’t come as long as our eyes were open.  So in preparation, we taped them open just in case Mr. Sandman came first.  We waited and waited to no avail.  Hemi and Houdini got frustrated and went to mom/dad’s room to sleep on the Select Comfort.  I myself was determined.  I mean hey, they don’t call me pig headed for nothing, right?  Snorts.

So I waited and waited – no snow – no reindeers – no fatman in red.  I was having a hard time trying to stay awake.  I jumped on the sofa and that was a big mistake.  Before I knew it, my eyes were droopy, my breathing had slowed and I had drifted off to peace on earth.

I’m not sure how much time had passed but something awakened me and it wasn’t my gas.  I kept one eye closed and barely opened the other.  To my surprise I saw a big fat guy all in red.  He was quietly putting pretty wrapped presents around the pole that he had first mistaken as a stripper pole – oh dear Lord.  But hold everything and wait a minute what is that caught my attention?  A woman was beside him wearing next to nothing.  No wonder for his confusion on the pole.  The next thing that happened scarred me for life when Santa grabbed said woman and gave her a kiss to last.  OMP (oh my pig).  What was that?  She turned and grinned and I saw it wasn’t a woman – it was my mom!  What will daddy think – what will daddy say.  I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus.  THUD – piggy down.

I shut my eyes so very fast.  This is not something that a pig wants to last.  When I reopened my eyes much to my amazement, everyone was gone but the presents were still there – all decorated – all wrapped – tucked in neatly around the Mickey Mouse pole lamp.  But something caught my eye in the corner near one box.  It was green and waving, “Come take a look”.  I quietly exited off my sofa and softly hooved my way across the floor.  Oh dear Lord – it was a $20.00 bill – I guess Santa did get a dance from the lap pole after all.

I squealed and ran down to my room in a hurry and tucked myself in to my toddler bed.  When then what did I hear?  Soft taps on the roof, a jingle of bells and in a loud bellow I heard a man say, “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

Santa Claus Is REAL!

20131209-014442.jpg

Let me tell you a secret.  Mom had her iPhone unlocked and I was just looking at the pictures – yep that’s what I was doing – snorts looking a pictures.

I came across a person in her contacts that I couldn’t believe!  Mommy has the direct number to Santa Claus – thud piggy down.  So when the humans tell you that they know people that are important – it’s true.

I told Hemi and Houdini about this contact in mom’s iPhone.  They couldn’t believe it and thought it was a joke.  We called the number and put it on speaker phone.  OMP (oh my pig!).  All of our mouths fell open.  It really was Santa Claus.  We were all shocked.  Mommy really does know Santa.  We *have* to be good now.  What if she sends him pictures or calls him herself?

Just in case, I’m off to clean up my pig pen of a bedroom.  Hey, I gotta be on that good list this year.  I have a big stocking to fill!  And you still don’t believe?  Look what else I found on mom’s Facebook page – OMP!  Gotta run now.  My room needs cleaning 🙂

Christmas Decorations – tsk tsk Daddy Oh

20131209-014402.jpg Oh boy.  That human daddy of mine just digs himself deeper and deeper this time of year.  Mommy asked him to take out some decorations for Christmas.  Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think the leg lamp is exactly what mommy had in mind.  He tried to fight for it saying that it was a classic and came from the movie, “A Christmas Story“.  He continued by saying that if it was good enough for Ralphie’s dad then it should be good enough for him.  Way to go daddy.  You need a shovel to dig yourself deeper into the hole?

I just bet you that all mom heard was blah, blah, blah and blah. She was patient and she was kind.  She let him make arguments over the said leg lamp.

I don’t know about you but that’s the way moms seem to be.  They get quiet and listen while you dig the hole bigger and bigger.  Just, you know, letting you stumble over yourself.  I watched and tried not to snort because I knew it was coming.  She said, “Listen Ralphie, if I dared you to stick your tongue to the frozen pole, would you do that too because everyone else was doing it?”  She’s good.  The leg lamp was put back in the attic.

20131209-014412.jpg

But you see, daddy doesn’t learn that easily.  Mom told him to put up the tree while she went out shopping.  For some reason, I just don’t think that this is what mommy was talking about.

Needless to say, mom was out for about an hour.  I know she thought she was going to come home to a tree… just a tad bit bigger than this I’m guessing.

Let’s just say that daddy was batting two for two this weekend.  So, our tree and decorations really didn’t get worked on like I thought they were going to.  And the discussion about actually putting up a tree took place.  Tree or no tree.  Because someone – looking innocently – knocked over the tree last year.  That keeps coming up for some reason.  I don’t get it.  The tree got tired and thirsty so it took a nap.  That’s it.  Really.

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!!

Happy Thanksgiving to the best friends we could ever have!

20131125-100117.jpg

I hope your day is full of love, family and hugs.  And let’s not forget food.  All kinds of food!  I found another funny for today.  I hope it makes you chuckle just a bit.

I also wanted to take this minute to express what I’m thankful for.  I’m thankful for my friends here in blogville.  I’m thankful for my family.  I’m thankful for a roof over my head and a soft bed to sleep in at night.  I’m thankful for the food provided for me every day.  I’m thankful for the love all the way.

I’m thankful for the shoulders I have to lean on and the laps I have to snuggle on.   I’m thankful to my birth mother who gave me to my adopted mother.

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

And when I count my blessings, I count all of you twice!
