About Bacon and Friends

Hi – my name is Bacon. 🙂  I’m a miniature pot bellied pig.  My mom/dad adopted me when I was a mere three weeks old and I’m just a tad bit spoiled.  This blog is about ‘my misadventures’ in life here at the Hotel Thompson with my mom/dad and other friends listed below.  We try our best to keep the humans on their toes.  Someone has to and trust me – it’s a hard job with my mom and dad.  They are always getting into trouble!  My main goal on my blog is to bring a smile to your face.  If I did that, I did my job well.

Every Tuesday, I post a Dear Bacon issue.  It’s kind of like the Dear Abby issues for humans.  But mine is where my anipals like you send me private questions and pictures to my personal email.  I in turn read each and every letter.  I then post these on my Dear Bacon issues with answers straight from my heart.  If you have a question in life that is pondering you, send your email to me at Baconthompson@gmail.com with Dear Bacon in the subject line.  I love my mail!

I live at the Hotel Thompson with my adopted brother – a purr sibling if you will. My purr brothers name is Hemingway – Hemi for short.  He thinks he rules the Hotel Thompson.  His ancestors are the hemingway cats from Key West.  I tell you that because he is a polydactyl cat.  That means he has more than the usual toes on his paws.  And trust me, he knows how to use those extra toes – he’s contact slapping my rear end.  It hurts! From time to time when I’m not looking, he hacks my blog and writes their own stuff. Darn that purr thing!

.This is Houdini – he is a Yorkshire Terrier that came to live at the Hotel Thompson on 08/30/2014.  In this picture when mom and dad adopted him, he is 12 weeks young and a spit fire!  He does his own posts on Fridays called Paw Time with Houdini.  He writes about his doggy adventures living at the Hotel Thompson with a pig (moi), a purr thing and a handful of treasured and beloved pet rocks.  Houdini is grown now at a whopping 9.5 pounds.  Trust me friends, he has the body of a minnow and the heart of Moby Dick.

I also have a friend named Journalist Rocky the Squirrel – who “keeps his paws on the nuts of the world”.  He writes a blog at times to inform us of interesting and informational tidbits about important dates. Can you believe that his ‘real’ name is Rockford Pygmy Sciuridae – no wonder he goes by Rocky the Squirrel! LOL – Journalist Rocky the Squirrel lives in my magical backyard here at the Hotel Thompson.  He’s always knocking on our back door begging for nuts for him and his family.  But, we don’t mind.  They are pretty cool and real entertaining!

 On Mondays, I let mom post on my blog with “Journey with Friends”.  Journey with Friends is a blog posting to support all of us in our day to day trials to a healthier body.  It’s great for encouragement.  And starting January 1, 2017, mom has started a short post everyday on how she is doing with her weight loss.  Hope to see you there!

I also have a pet rock named Bashful. He knows a lot of tricks like stay, sit, be quiet and dad taught him how to play dead. Bashful is a happening pebble. He is definitely the “international rolling stone“.  He goes to all kinds of different places and stays with host families having adventures.  His first trip was to France and was amazing!  As Bashful has traveled, he has picked up a few friends of his own.  They now live with us as well at the Hotel Thompson.  Check back often because the rock friends are growing!  I hope you enjoy our blog!  Hogs and snout kisses – Bacon
