Guess What Started Yesterday?

The running of the bulls!

WOW – Can you believe it’s already that time of the year again.  Starting yesterday and running through July 14th, starts the Running of the Bulls. Really? People really put their lives in jeopardy to run through the streets of Pamplona, Spain chased by B.U.L.L.S with HORNS. I gotta ask. Are you crazy?! This is not only for one day but it is a annual festival that starts today.

I understand it is a tradition. The first thing they do is take a statue of San Fermin and parade it through Pamplona. This saint is believed to ‘protect’ the runners as they are being chased by the mean bulls. And, it really did look festive on television. They even had musicians playing and singing. And they had people standing on balconies throughout the streets that watched the bulls chasing the humans. Now, I enjoyed the music, the singing and I could even watch.

But, this little pig doesn’t run that fast to participate in the running FROM the bulls – snorts. I would be a nice little snack for them. Shivers. And the actual bull run lasts about four minutes – but still I don’t think this oinker would have a chance.

So instead of ‘running’ from the bulls, I thought I would do it ‘my’ way 🙂

A couple of years ago, I started my own “Running of the Bulls.”  I carried my king size Egyptian cotton sheet from the bedroom into the front room. At times, mommy would hold it for me so I could run through it. You know, like she was fighting a ‘bull’ per say. She would call me a pigatador – snorts. It was fun and kept me busy for some time. Even daddy got into the game playing and would hold it up for me.

It was really fun. I’m not sure who it wore out faster – me, mommy or daddy. Even Hemi, the purr thing here at the Hotel Thompson, got into the action and would run through it. What can I say – we are so easily entertained!

This year, I think we are taking some of this fun out in my magical back yard.  If you see us out there, we are just practicing… nothing to fear yet – evil snorts!

Tuckered Out

This is me from last night here at the Hotel Thompson.  I’m all tuckered out.  Why do you ask?  I’ll tell you why on this fine day my friends.  I’m glad you asked – snorts.  See in the picture that thing I’m lying on?  Well that is my king sized Egyptian cotton sheet.  You know the one that I ‘stole’ from mom.  That sheet is awesome.  It’s like my security blankie.  I do everything with that sheet.  I drag it all over the Hotel Thompson, I play with it and I sleep with it.  When daddy washes it, I go back/forth from the living room to the laundry room waiting for it to come out of the dryer all nice, clean and smelly.  That’s how much I love that blankie.

Last night after dinner, I pulled that sheet to the living room and spread it out on the floor.  It had to be just right.  You see it’s get a slick silky feel to it.  It’s great for sliding – snorts.  I then went to my room and ran around, down the hall and into the front room jumping on my sheet and sliding.  I did this several times until I slid into the entertainment center – snorts.  Then mommy said that was enough.

Then I did what I do second best.  See my Olivia ball in the picture?  The one that says “Pretty in Red”.  I tried to play ‘soccer’ pushing it around with my snout and kicking it.  That was fun too until it went airborne and knocked over dad’s empty glass – Snorts.  See, he’s holding me back in my profession soccer ball career.

So after all this play, I was just tuckered out.  What’s a pig to do but fall where he is and sleep forty winks.  You ever get this tuckered my friends?

You Like My Mohawk?

I’m sporting a little Mohawk this morning.  Mommy calls it bedhead.  I’m just slow moving this morning.  My get up and go went without warning.  I’m tired.  Heck, I didn’t even get mom up for breakfast.  She had to get me up.  Now, I’m going back to bed.

Can ya’ll do me a favor?  If you find my get up and go, will you return it to me?  I’m off to snuggle down deep in my Egyptian cotton sheet.  Wake me if the Hotel Thompson is on fire.  Snorts.

Five Friday Facts – Happy Friday :)

Five Friday Facts about this little piggy – moi 🙂

  1. I have a security blanket.  You’ve heard me talk about it.  It’s my KING sized Egyptian cotton sheet.  Do you know how I got it?  It was once mom/dad’s.  Mommy was doing the laundry one weekend and was folding items out of the dryer.  I fell in love with that sheet.  I was rolling all over it and wouldn’t let her have it.  I finally took off with it in my mouth out of the laundry room, through the kitchen, through the front room and all the way down the hall to my bedroom.  It’s been mine every since.  I ❤ it.  I drag it everywhere in the house.  It also makes a great slide cause it’s soft and slick – snorts.  Looks innocent – not that I would know anything about that.
  2. I talk a lot about my dad on my blog.  You know about us having a hate/love relationship.  But deep down, I really do love my daddy.  He takes care of me during the day.  He can’t be that bad of a guy, right?
  3. What’s on my television right at this moment?  That would be Mountain Monsters – I love those guys on this show – especially Trapper.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you gotta watch it.  I’ll try to do a blog about it one day soon.
  4. Contrary to popular belief, pigs are actually clean anipals.  We don’t smell.  We don’t sweat.  We are actually very loving and very smart.
  5. I speak two languages.  Bet you didn’t know that did you?  I speak English – I know what mom tells me to do and not to do.  And I also speak Pig Latin.  Didn’t see that one coming did you?  Snorts

Bouquet of THREE Awards

I am speechless.  If you have known me for any length of time, you know that is almost impossible.  I opened up my comments this morning and was granted the most sincere message.  I was posted with the Bouquet of Three Awards.  After getting my wits together and getting over being speechless, I squealed so loud that I think the rafters in the Hotel Thompson shook.  I took off running to find daddy so I could tell him.  We were ALL so excited.

Wandering Jouster (WJ as we like to call her) at http://wanderingjouster.com nominated me for the Bouquet of Three Awards.  THREE awards at one time – this may go to my little piggy head – snorts.  Thank you so much WJ for making my morning and starting my weekend off on the right hoove.  This is a wonderful gift on a Friday!!  She nominated this little piggy and wrote about me, “A little bit spoiled pig, loves enjoys talking about his/her misadventures. “

Snorts – yep I guess I would resemble that remark – snorts.  I do love talking about my misadventures and sharing them.  But spoiled – who’s spoiled – looks around innocently – snorts giggles.

Let’s go over the rules of the award:

  1. Display the Award Certificate on your website/blog. Check – see above
  2. Announce your win with a post.  Make sure to post a link back to me as a thank you for the nomination.  Check – see above
  3. Present up to 15 awards to deserving bloggers. Check – see below
  4. Drop them a comment to tip them off after you have linked them in the post.  Check 🙂
  5. Post 7 interesting things about yourself.  Check – see below

Simple enough, right?  This is so much fun!  Let’s nominate some friends.  I wish I could nominate ALL of my friends here.  I really hate having to choose only 15 friends.  That’s hard on a little pig!  I never want to leave anyone out ever!  I consider all of you very close to me and I love you all.  If your name is not listed – don’t be upset – consider yourself awarded as well 🙂

  • My friends at http://breathelighter.wordpress.com/ – you have to go check out Darwin.  I fell in love with him.
