Are You Ready for Some Bowl Games??

 First off, let’s talk about the most important bowl game today – Puppy Bowl. The show starts promptly at 3PM on the Animal Planet.  If you’ve never seen the Puppy Bowl, you really need to watch it today.  It is totally awesome and keeps me busy cheering for hours.  Daddy has his game later today (which I’ll tell you about in a minute) and I have my game with the Puppy Bowl.

And don’t think that the Puppy Bowl is just about a lot of puppies on the screen doing nothing.  There’s actually a referee, puppy touchdowns, penalties, timeouts and substitutions.  That’s right – it’s a Puppy Bowl to see!

The rules are easy.  Puppies go on the field and when a puppy drags one of the football shaped toys into the end zone, a puppy touchdown is declared.  If a puppy has an accident on the field by ‘going to the bathroom’, a penalty is called.  If the water bowls need to be refilled or puppies get into a fight, timeouts are called.  And, you know what they call it when the puppies get into squabbles?  Unnecessary rrruuufffness.  Snorts.  And if the puppies fall asleep, substitutions are sent in to play.

Over the years, they’ve had different ‘cheerleaders’.  In the past, I’ve seen hedgehogs, bunny cheerleaders, chicken cheerleaders and my favorite in 2012 was the Piggy Pep Squad.  Personally, I think they need to bring the Piggy Pep Squad back.  I would *so* want to try out  for the team.  I think I have what it takes.  I have the look.  I have the chemistry.  I have the personality.  I can dance.

But if the Puppy Bowl doesn’t it do it for you, you can always wait for dad’s game later today at 6:30PM.  THE Super Bowl.  Two really good teams will be going head to head – New England Patriots vs Philadelphia Eagles.

And don’t forget the half time show on the Super Bowl either.  This year they are going to have Justin Timberlake performing.

And the other thing about the Super Bowl, you *have* to watch the commercials.  They are usually the most hilarious commercials to remember for the night.  So my friends, get your snacks and drinks ready.  Go to the potty early so you can enjoy all of the fun today.  Get comfy on the couch.  I’m going to be watching the shows all day long.  And hopefully, mom will pop me some popcorn.

Happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER my dear friends

((HOGS AND KISSES)) it’s a wonderful and joyous day!

I love Easter.  I love everything about it.  I love the fun.  I love the excitement.  I love the actual meaning of Easter.  I love it all!

Mom makes is so special for all of us.  Mom gave the purr things their little basket.  She was going to take a picture of it but too late – they got to it.  There was little pieces of grass everywhere from their straw basket.  They got cat treats, a bag of Iams – their favorite and a couple of play mice.  They were happy – more so for the basket and grass at first – snorts.  Silly purr things.

Dad loves his Angry Birds games so this year mom tried to decorate the eggs in their colors.  Didn’t turn out as good as last year but dad absolutely loved them.  Me, of course I favored the piggy one.  What more I favored was what was inside of the egg. Snorts – I do love my food.

And me?  You asked what did the Easter Bunny bring me?  ALL kinds of goodies.

I got a yearly pot full of my special treats! I noticed last week that my big bucket was MIA (missing in action) here at the Hotel Thompson.  That Easter Bunny is sneaky.  He must have come in last week and took my bucket to fill up with all of these goodies.

Look in that bucket –

• Animal crackers – yes the convenient size – snort.
• Yellow squash and eggplant.   I love it chopped up and raw.
• Carrots – look at the size of those master pieces!
• Oranges and apples.
• And my training raisins were in the bottom of the bucket.  I only get raisins when mom is teaching me new tricks.  I guess she’s up to training again.

YUMMY – this pig struck the gold mine!   I think personally the Easter Bunny likes me the best, don’t you?  But I won’t tell anyone if you don’t.

And we can’t forget about  rock clan. The Easter Bunny brought the rock clan what else but Rock Candy!

Dear Pondering Bear – You’ve got a point there my friend.  Life does go really fast sometimes and you need to stop and smell the daises… which happen to be my mom’s favorites.  It’s good to take a breath and remember what you have and who you are. Dear Tyke – Aaww – you really cute with your back pack my friend.  It looks like it was just made for you.  There’s no worries on carrying it.  Sometimes my mom makes me carry my pack with me as well.  I look at it as helping her out.  Thing of it that way as to what a big bunny you are now to be helping out the humans.  That’s awesome!  And I’ll tell you something.  When I carry mine, mom usually puts me some treats in there.  That’s always a good thing!

Remember Me Thursday and Light a Candle

Today September 22nd is Remember Me Thursday.

This is a very important date to remember all of the lost animals that didn’t find their forever homes.  Each year, animals are euthanized because they are unwanted.

Today, let’s light a candle and keep it going to remember them.  It takes all of us to do our part in making sure animals get as much love as they need and find their forever parents.  Did you adopt your current anipal into their forever home or did they adopt YOU?  Maybe today, lean a paw at your local shelter and/or make a donation to help.

Hold your babies tight today and say a little prayer my friends.  Continue the light and be their voice!  It takes all of us doing our part.  Thanks my friends!

Dear Bacon –  No.  That’s right No.  Our doorbell rung in the middle of the day.  We weren’t expecting anyone so mom looked out the peep hole.  She didn’t see anyone.  We all sat back down and again the doorbell rung once again.  Mom went to the door, looked out the peep hole and nothing.  So she opened the door… of course keeping the security chain on the door.  Then mom squealed – I’m sure she squealed louder than you.  This is what she saw.  What in the world?  He wanted to borrow a cup of chicken – as if.  Mom told him that she wasn’t the local Kroger and to take a hike.  Have you ever had guests like this wanting to borrow food?  Signed Uninvited Guests

Dear Uninvited Guests – Oh dear piggy heavens have mercy!  Now we all believe in neighborly hospitality here at the Hotel Thompson.  Journalist Rocky the Squirrel often knocks on our back door asking for a cup of nuts.  And once, the neighbor asked to borrow a cup of milk.  But *never* have we had such a guest wanting a cup of chicken.  Did your friend leave?  I mean who you goin’ to call in this circumstance?  Be safe my friend – and keep that door LOCKED.

 Dear Bacon – I scored BIG time for Christmas.  I asked Jolly St. Nick for a cool pair of bunny slippers.  And let me tell you something, he delivered!!  I am jumping all over my crib in bun-bun delight.  Aren’t they the cutest things you have ever seen my friend?  Signed Bunny Times Two

HAPPY EASTER

 HOGS AND KISSES – it’s a wonderful and joyous day!

I love Easter.  I love everything about it.  I love the fun.  I love the excitement.  I love the actual meaning of Easter.  I love it all!

Mom makes is so special for all of us.  She fixes us all baskets just for us – squeals!  She leaves them out the night before and we each get to come into the room to find our basket.

The purr things got their usual of cat treats, a bag of Iams – their favorite and a couple of play mice.  They were happy – more so for the basket then what was in it – snorts.  Silly purr things.  They are so weird playing with their basket before finding their stuff inside.  Shakes piggy head.

Houdini got a little basket full of dog treats – he loves them – and some little toys shaped like Angry Birds.  Snorts – I think dad is going to confiscate them.  Houdini tries to help daddy play his game and loves the swooshing sound of the birds.

The rock clan – we can’t forget them now can we – they got a basket with Rock Candy 🙂  Benedict, Manny, Virginia, Princess Coralena, Rockelle, Bashful and some others 🙂 you haven’t heard about … yet.  Coming soon don’t worry my friends.  Mom’s hands are just a tad bit full right now.  Don’t give up on her.

And Dad loves his Angry Birds games so this year mom had him a cake made with Angry Birds on it – sweet!  It is fabulous and gorgeous!  I would share a pic but once mom sliced it, it looked like that red bird bled out – snorts.
