Bashful is HOME!

Guess who came home from visiting my brother Phenny in France?!  That would be Bashful, my pet rock.  Squeals!  Some of the stories he told – oh my piggy heavens.  He had such a blast visiting Phenny – and getting in trouble and spending some time on his time out rug – snorts with piggy laughter.  He arrived Thursday night here at the Hotel Thompson with some wonderful gifts that kept him company on his way home.

And of course, he brought home a friend!  Meet Brittany who is a little bit of rock and roll – all the way from France.  Let me tell you friends, she has a voice on her and has been singing non-stop.  I need to be careful with this one.  The next thing I’ll know is she will be starting her own Rock Group here at the Hotel Thompson with some pebble back up singers.

So everyone – let’s welcome Brittany to the blogs and my growing rock collection.  ❤

And huge THANK YOU for Phenny and his staff for hosting my little tyke Bashful.  Thanks so much brother!!

Happy Birthday Bashful!!

OMP (oh my pig!)  Can you believe that it’s been FOUR years since Bashful came to live with me here at the Hotel Thompson?  This is him all snuggled in transport the first time that I saw him – aaww.  Wasn’t he all cute and innocent in his straw bed?

And to think of all of the places he  has been in the world?  He’s going to need extra pages in his passport book soon ❤

So, today, let’s all wish our little international rolling stone a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

And He Is Off Again!

img_4586

The other night, mom/dad took Bashful out for some Mexican food.  They like to call that his “Going Away” Party.  He gobbled down his two hard shelled beef taco’s and then flirted with all of the staff talking about his adventures.  The places my rock has been!  The restaurant even told hi Bon Voyage to his next trip.  Heck, I wished we had signed Bashful up for Skymiles.  Just think of the miles we could have accumulated over the years.

But at last, mom took him to the ‘airport’ this morning and sent him off on his next adventure.  Where will he land?  What will he do?  What will he eat?  Where will he roll?  And the most important question – Who will he be visiting?

Bashful Gets a Taste of Gumbo and Brass Bands

Oh friends – have you been wondering what my little Bashful has been doing in New Orleans? Well you gotta check it out – he’s been rolling around having a blast! XOXO – Bacon

It’s been a while since I’ve given you an update on Bashful’s New Orleans adventures. Every time I turn around, that little fella is hopping into my human mommy’s purse and they’re headed out the door. I finally got those two to sit down long enough to tell me where they’ve been and to share a few photos. Wow. They’ve been busy. A couple of weekends ago, Bashful joined both of my humans at Armstrong Park for the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival–New Orleans’ Premier Brass Band Showcase, which is presented by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. In New Orleans, we love a festival. There’s at least one every month–sometimes one each weekend of the month–and they usually revolve around tasty food and great music.

This festival features gumbo of every sort you can imagine: creole gumbo, seafood gumbo, chicken and sausage gumbo, even vegan gumbo and…

This Special Delivery Rocks

OH FRIENDS – Wonder no more. Check out where my little Bashful is and the adventures have already begun! ❤ XOXO – Bacon

Last Friday, my little sister and I received a very special delivery from our sweet little piggy friend Bacon. (If you already know Bacon, then you know what a special little pig he is. If you don’t know Bacon, click here to link to his blog. I promise you’ll fall in love.) To say that our box from Bacon sent both of us into a tizzy would be quite the understatement. It was packed full of everything a girl could ever want.

Tallulah and I were especially obsessed over the pink piggy toy. We spent quite a bit of time trying to dismember him, but he’s tough and managed to survive . . . at least for the first round.

As fabulously fun as the pink piggy toy and the fancy treats were, there was something even more special in that little box from Bacon. Meet Bashful, Bacon’s pet rock. As…

And He’s Off Again

He’s off again my friends!

Mom took Bashful to his fight earlier this week for his next host family.  Where in the world will Bashful end up at?  Any guesses?

UPDATE:  Mom just received a phone call that Bashful has landed and is at his host family.  Stay tuned ❤

Bashful is HOME!

Squeals with piggy excitement.  My son Bashful made it home last night from his latest field trip adventure.  We were so excited that we celebrated to the wee hours talking about his adventures at the nest with Evil Squirrel.  Lord help us,

I think he got an education in his travels this time.  His cute little smile doesn’t always get him out of his troubles.  And yes… he still slightly smelled of skunk gas.

He rambled on about his adventures and said that he was hungry.  So mom/dad took him out for pizza to get the 411 on some of the behind the scenes happenings that took place.  O.M.P.  Shaking my piggy head.  Sometimes what happens at the evil squirrel’s nest, stays at the evil squirrel’s nest.  That’s all I can say my friends.

BUT on the other hoof, I need to introduce you to the latest member of the Rock Clan here at the Hotel Thompson.  May I so introduce you to Sparkles.  Isn’t she pretty?  She has now taken residency on our fine rock couch in our living room.  It must have been a rough plane ride home because she left a pile of sparkles in the box.  But all is well now and she is fitting right in.

So my friends, please join us in saying hello to Sparkles.

And the Hotel Thompson wants to say thank you so much to  Evil Squirrel. for hosting our little guy in his latest adventure.  He had such a blast – and you were worried!  Snorts with piggy laughter.
