Lasso of Truth

Bacon’s mom here. Don Juan is now considered a bratty elf beyond any kind of help.  So he sends my picture to Santa that’s great.  But did he have to send my picture via Playboy magazine?  You can’t lie Don Juan.  The proof was in yesterday’s posting that Bacon did.  We won’t even discuss how much Bacon charged on daddy’s credit card to get back all of those magazines.  Shakes my head.

And now you have way overstepped your boundaries here at the Hotel Thompson.

Messing with the kids is one thing.  Messing with the husband is another thing.  But messing with my collectible Barbie dolls – shaking head.  That’s where I have to draw the line.

When I took a nap yesterday – cause Lord knows we can’t sleep at night with that freak running around rapid – I dreamed of my favorite Super Hero – Wonder Woman and what she would do with that freakzoid with her lasso of truth – giggles.  We should only know how he felt about being tied up by my number one hero – HA!

Dear Bacon

20131106-104329.jpgDear Bacon,

My human thought she would bring me to work today.  As you can tell, neither one of us got a lot of work done.  Well, my mom didn’t.  I did because her desk was the most frequented visited cubicle that day.  I wonder why?  Signed Shrimp

Dear Shrimp,

Smiles and wipes piggy eyes.  Aren’t you just the most adorable, cutest little thing I’ve seen in a while.  I just want to rub that little belly of yours.  You must have really been tired little guy.  Maybe you should do more visits to work with mommy.  I think in no time you would have all of her co-workers wrapped around your little paws!

20131106-104634.jpg

Dear Bacon,

I know we are suppose to be enemies but we’re not.  We are buds.  He watches my back and I watch his.  We have the most interesting conversations at our house.  Why can’t we all just get along in the world like us?  Signed Tom and Jerry

Dear Tom and Jerry,

Ya’ll have a great point.  We *should* all just get along in this world.  There shouldn’t be anything saying that we can’t because of one thing or another.  Ya’ll are setting the best example – keep up the great work my friends!

20131106-104815.jpgDear Bacon,

I was this close to freedom before they caught me and put me back in lockdown.  I could taste freedom and it tasted pretty darn good.  Any suggestions for next time?  Signed Stretch

Dear Stretch,

I have to laugh buddy.  They say your kind is slow and not full of spunk but I think *they* are wrong.  You show the tenacity in making the ‘great escape’.  You were so close – how you got that far up on the fence is beyond me but way to go my friend.  Next time though, might I suggest just watching out for the gate to open.  It might be a safer way for your taste of freedom.

20131106-104842.jpg

Dear Bacon,

What?  Haven’t you ever seen a bird wearing a hoodie before?  It gets cold.  I don’t have a ‘fur coat’ like you do.  My feathers only provide so much for warmth.  I think it’s a great idea.  We should all have one, you think?  Signed Fun Times

Dear Fun Times,

I think it’s great!  You look warm, festive and ready to go meet the world in that hoodie.  I say don’t worry about what anyone else might think.  As long as you are warm and comfy, who cares!

20131106-104910.jpgDear Bacon,

I need help.  I know you have Bashful.  Bashful is like a happening international traveling pet rock.  My owner, he just keeps me in a cage and feeds me.  I don’t get that life of first class traveling or anything.  Any suggestions- can you help me out?  Signed Bug

Dear Bug,

I am so sorry little guy.  Your owner must not have gotten the parenting guide like I did with Bashful.  You have to have exercise.  Your owner needs to walk you or at least put a hamster wheel in your cage for exercise.  Does he take you out for social time, watching television?  Heck, if anything else, you need a friend.  You give him my number, I’ll email it back to you.  I’ll talk to him and see what we can come up with my friend.

Journey with Friends – Week 49

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

Sunday, December 3, 2017 –  Finally a day of rest.  I don’t think much moving was done by me, Jim or the anipals here at the Hotel Thompson.  We slept and rested which is exactly what I needed!  Miles Moved: -0-

Monday, December 4, 2017 –  Back into the grind of things.  It’s already the beginning of December!  There is so much to do but this year I feel we will be taking things easy and light.  I don’t have the stamina to be crawling around putting up decorations and it’s just me and Jim.  This year having this surgery was our gift to each other.  Having the lumps gone and being here for each other.  What else could we ask for, right?  Miles Moved: 0.95

Tuesday, December 5, 2017 –  Working on a surprise for Jim for next week.  Do you know how hard it is to work on surprises for that man?  Do you have one in your life that can almost guess every.single.time what you might be doing?  The boy has a sixth sense for some things.  But what he *thinks* and what happens could be two different things.  My sister is in cahoots with me.  You know this can’t end well – snickers.   Miles Moved: 1.21

Wednesday, December 6, 2017 –  So much to get done this weekend and it’s only Wednesday!  My list is getting longer and the days are getting shorter.  What’s a girl to do?  Maybe I can start training Bacon and Houdini to help out with errands?  That should be interesting for sure.  Miles Moved: 0.93

Thursday, December 7, 2017 –  Today was a hiccup.  I’ve had one spot under my left breast that has been bothering me.  I just don’t like the looks of it.  I called the doctors office last week and they told me it was a ‘spitting stitch’.  It still bothers me today so I called the doctors office and sent him a picture via text.   Of course he wanted me to come in to look more closely at it and to check a few things.  Of course I got worried when he pulled out scissors and tweezers.  Can you say ouch?  Remember to check out my other blog here for details of this situation.   Miles Moved: 1.13

Friday, December 8, 2017 – Friday I love you so much!  Thank goodness we made it to you.  Now to get finished at work and start some errands!   Miles Moved: 0.93

Saturday, December 9, 2017 –  Work up feeling a little under the weather.  I guess the doctor ‘operating’ on me Thursday finally caught up to me and I was aching a bit today.  And on top of everything else, we got snow this morning.  Okay it was SNOW to us…we freak out with one snowflake – LOL.  But today needs to go on.  Houdini has a spa appointment and then he is off to see Santa.  Be afraid Santa.  There is no telling what he will ask for this year for Christmas.  Miles Moved: 0.65

Thoughts for the week:  Baby steps.  Life is not a race.  We all get to where we want in the end.  That’s my motto for my recovery.  This Wednesday 12/13/2017 will be 5 weeks.  Some days I feel like it’s been FIVE WEEKS.  Some days I feel like it’s a rush of time.  Recovery is slow but I’m so happy with my results so far.  And believe it or not, I’m itching to get back into my workout routine in January.  January is a new year all around for me.  Have a great week my friends ❤

This week walked: 5.80

TOTAL 2017 Miles:  523.56

❤ small goals turn into big accomplishments ❤

Don Juan Has Done It Now!

IMG_0843.JPG

How in the world am I going to explain this picture to mommy?  It looks like that little psycho elf has been into mom’s pictures and sent them to a certain magazine which has made its way to the big man and his elves.

Shakes piggy head.  This can’t be good.  Look at their faces?!  Oh dear piggy heavens.  How am I ever going to tell mommy what Don Juan has done this time?!  What will daddy think?

You gotta help me friends.  How do I break it gently to my mom that her private pictures may not be so private anymore and that she might be on Santa’s naughty list… but he might like it?  Snorts.

Don Juan is in deep doo-doo here at the Hotel Thompson. Shakes piggy head and walks away with daddy’s credit card.  I gotta buy all of these off the market so she doesn’t see the cover.

Don Juan’s Powers are Strong

IMG_1031.JPG

Lord have mercy.  Is it after Christmas yet my friends?  Please tell me it’s soon – really soon – not soon enough for my liking.  You see I can admit it.  Don Juan’s powers are strong here.  That evil little elf on the shelf needs to go back to where he came.  I’m going to need therapy after all of his antics this year.

You see, this morning I went into the front room like I do every day.  I was minding my own business, snorting and wobbling to the kitchen.  I passed through the living room and saw Houdini.  He barked.  I snorted.  You know to say hey to each other.  That’s when I stopped in my piggy tracks.

Houdini was dressed up like an elf.  WTP (What the pig!).  I asked the little guy what happened.  He said he thought he heard chattering last night in bed and this was how he woke up.  Oh dear piggy heavens.  You mean Don Juan sneaked into his bedroom and put this ridiculous outfit on him while he was sleeping?!  Shivers – I may not be able to sleep myself alone now until after the elf goes back into hibernation for the season.

I admit it.  This scares me.  Houdini didn’t know what happened.  Somehow he slept through it all?  How is that?  How can you sleep through being dressed?

Paw Time with Houdini

Sometimes I have to admit that dad knows how to pick a shirt out for me.  Barks with puppy laughter.  On this shirt, I can say that we are two of a kind in agreement of our priorities from shopping. A pup can *never* have too many clothes.  Dad got this one for me to add to my wardrobe.  I needed something because tomorrow I’m finally going to my pet spa.  And trust me, this pooch needs a spa day.  I’ve spent the past couple of months pushing it.  Mom/dad went off to Australia and then when they got back mom had surgery.  I couldn’t leave mom during that time.  I had to be here in case she needed me.  You know, a dog’s work is never done.  So last night, I text my groomer Kim and told her I was a hot mess and needed the works – bubble bath, massage, cut and some me time.  I can’t wait to see her tomorrow.  I wonder if she does hot stone treatments?  Anyway, hopefully tomorrow night I will feel so much better.  Hope ya’ll have a great weekend as well.  Now I leave you with dad.  Of course my apologies up front.  He’s getting ready for the fat man coming at the end of the month.

Oh No He Didn’t!

There I was this morning just like any other morning in my bedroom warm and tucked into bed.  I woke up because I knew through my internal alarm that it was time to get mommy up for her worky place.

I went to get mommy up but her bedroom door was shut.  That’s when I heard someone in the kitchen.  I got kind of excited then because I thought mommy beat me out of bed and was cooking my breakfast.  I yawned and softly walked down the hall with my hooves tapping against the wood floors.

I get to the kitchen and guess what? The piggy gate is open.  That’s odd but then again mommy is up, right?  So I walk into the kitchen.  That’s when I started shivering.  I saw that evil Don Juan on the stove cooking.  He motioned for me to come on over cause he had my breakfast ready.  That six inch tall rat is going down for this!
