Week of  07/08-07/14/2018 – Week 27

“Dear Journal – Time.  I’ve talked about it before.  We need to breathe and live in the moment.  Weight didn’t come on overnight and weight won’t go off overnight.  When you can accept that and be happy with you, I think you’ve come a long way.  I’m there now.  I’m happy.  With me today and tomorrow.  I work towards a goal but it doesn’t define me.  I define me.  That’s something we all need to grasp.  It’s an amazing place to be.  So for today Diary, be in the present!”

Week of  07/01-07/07/2018 – Week 26

“Dear Journal – What an awesome week this was.  It was my birthday on July 3rd.  This was one of the best birthdays I’ve had in such a long time.  I was surrounded by love and I felt it.  We had a wonderful time celebrating all week – eating out and just having fun.  I felt so lucky to have so much love coming from all directions.  It was such a blessing for sure.  I didn’t count calories.  I didn’t wear my Apple i-Watch and monitor my walking.  I laughed and celebrated LIFE.  Here’s to another great year to accomplish goals now – cheers!”

Week of  06/24-06/30/2018 – Week 25

“Dear Journal – Day by day, step by step.  You know what of the things I absolutely hate about trying to eat better?  The constant cooking at home.  Yep, I said it.  The constant cooking.  Don’t get me wrong.  We have to eat… although I keep questioning the hub unit why he has to eat every single day – LOL.  I do have skills in the kitchen.  The hub can vouch for that.  But sometimes… I would rather make things easy and just go out to eat.  Wouldn’t we all?  But life is not easy and right now the ‘quick’ thing can’t be for me.  I have to get my decision making choices down first and then in the future I might be able to make better choices in a restaurant.”

Week of  06/17-06/23/2018 – Week 24

“Dear Journal – “When did life become a hurry?  Everyone seems to be in such a rush.  People flying down the road – they have to be first.  The same person that was behind you has to go around you to be in front.  People are rushing through the stores cutting in front of you and grabbing things.  People constantly talking on their cell phones.  Life needs to slow down.  People need to slow down.  What happened to sitting on the deck just breathing and relaxing?  People are constantly multi-tasking.  I think this week I will slow a bit.  Relax.  Sit and enjoy dinner with the family.  Talk.  Enjoy just being together and not rushing.”

Week of  06/10-06/16/2018 – Week 23

“Dear Journal –  Baby steps.  I’ve been tweaking dinner options this week.  There really are some amazing foods that you can prepare that are totally tasty and the hub unit loves.  Planning is the key though.  I’m trying to do my cooking prep on Sundays for the week.  Then during the week, I pull from already cooked ingredients in the fridge.  It saves time and getting the house hot from actually cooking the first time.  What a time saver this is!  I can’t believe I haven’t tried this earlier.  But like they say, better late than never!”

Week of  06/03-06/09/2018 – Week 22

“Dear Journal – Baby steps.  Do you ever notice that when you gain weight, you don’t realize how quickly it takes.  But when you try to lose weight, it seems like forever?  LOL – But we win in the end.  You just have to take baby steps.  It’s not easy.  In fact, it’s a challenge.  But knowing you have a problem and jumping on it full force is the answer.  Two weeks gone so far and I’m down 7 pounds.  I admit it.  I’ve had a soda here/there.  I know I shouldn’t.  But I’m trying.  That’s the main answer – trying.  Because you know in the end, it doesn’t matter how many times you fail at something.  It’s how many times you get back up and try again <3”

Journey to Healthier Living – Week 20/21

Week of  05/20-05/26/2018 – Week 20

“Dear Journal – Sweet vacation.  Took a couple days off to visit my sister in Chicago, Illinois.  What an awesome time to get away.  I think every once in a while, we need some time.  Time away to play from the ordinary day-to-day life.  It gives us time to refresh and get back into the swing of us.  No worries – no thinking of work – just play.”

Week of 05/27-06/02/2018 – Week 21

“Dear Journal – Back to the grind with new commitments.  Next visit to my sister will be in October when she runs her Chicago Marathon.  This gives me four months to get my life in control, get on a scheduled routine and hit it hard… that is if the couch was cooperating.  Hit my left foot solid on the leg of the couch at home.  My left foot is swollen and turning all kinds of colors from yellow, black, green and some orange and reds.  Leave it to me to find the couch in the dark.  Baby steps is what I’m doing now… of course that’s all I can do right now – LOL.  But this will pass.”
