We will never forget what our veterans have done for us.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States. On this day, which occurs every year on the last Monday of May, we remember the men and women who have died while serving our country.
Many people on this day will visit cemeteries and memorials placing an American flag at graves to honor our fallen heros.
Let’s remember that appreciation is not only one day out of the year – it’s year round.

Hey friends ❤ How was your week? We survived another week and I’m proud of that. We got everything wrapped and mailed out for Christmas – yay! And this past Saturday we had one last time shopping adventure on a different side of town. We spent the entire day store hopping, having a blast and laughing. Isn’t that what the holidays are about? It was a blast. Of course, one of the funny things that happened (there’s always more than one with us, right), was that we were shopping on the ‘country’ side of our town. I guess you could say it was redneck land – LOL. Well, I’m in a store and I asked the lady at a jewelry counter if they sold nose rings. OMP! The look on her face was priceless. I personally was laughing my butt off at her shock that I had one. Priceless my friends – priceless.

Welcome my friends to another week of Travels in the South. We are continuing our visit with Fozziemom and Fozziedad who came for a visit. Last week, we talked about our visit to the Baby General Hospital – the home of the Cabbage Patch kids. You can read all about it here. And if you missed it on Fozziemom’s blog, check it out here. It was definitely a great adventure to the hospital.
But let’s go back a step. You see Fozziemom mentioned some peeps that she was interested in meeting. So, mom set out to make it happen. Some peeps were just too far away and we couldn’t do it. But don’t worry, phone calls were made and squeals were heard all over the south. Then others were out of town so we couldn’t meet 😦 Then there was one that was set up. Be afraid – you should have seen mommy emailing this person that she wasn’t a bad person and wanted to meet up with a mutual friend.
The address was put in mom’s GPS and the trip was started… around curves, in the country, weaving in/out until they were found. Who did they meet? It was Jan from Jan’s Funny Farm. Let the good times roll – I think it was hard to imagine Fozziemom being right here in our neck of the woods. They all went out to a local Mexican restaurant, talked and a had an awesome time for sure. I took this picture from Jan’s page (I hope she doesn’t mind) to share with everyone. Today before mom left for work, she lit a candle here at the Hotel Thompson. A candle for support of France. For uniting the world. For a shoulder to lean upon. For friendship. For unity in being one. For the 129 that perished. We are heartbroken over the acts of terrorists. They not only touched France, they touched us too by their acts. We want France to know that they are not alone.
Today, we are going dark here on piglove in support of friendship with France in supporting them in their time of need. We will have our candle lit all day here at the Hotel Thompson. We would love you for to support this cause as well.
