Age Appropriate? Come on Dad

BOO!

Were you scared?  Piggy rolling around laughing.  I put a sheet on myself last night and was running through the Hotel Thompson snorting, oinking and booing.  I think I scared daddy and made him jump.  It was kind of funny and he said he was laughing inside although I couldn’t see him.  He said I kind of gave it away with the sheet over my snout.  What do you think?  Would you have been scared?

Dad also told me that I’ve been watching too many paranormal ghost shows.  Seriously dad?  Is there ever *too* many paranormal ghost shows?  He then told me that perhaps some of them weren’t age appropriate for me.  Daddy, you’ve got be kidding me.  Admit it dad, you’re the one afraid of the dark, not me.  And is there anything really not age appropriate for me?  I’m not like those scaredy cats around the house.  I’m a man pig.  I can take it.

Mom lets me stay up and watch these types of shows with her, especially on Friday and Saturday nights when there’s no work the next day.  They’re great fun.  Sometimes I think me and mom could team up and investigate a spooky place together.  It would make a great television show.  How many paranormal shows have you seen with a pig co-host?  I ain’t scared of no ghosts!

Changing…

Yawns.  What was that noise?  What woke me up?  I lay here in my bed and stretch.  Oh my – either my legs are getting longer or my bed is getting smaller.  What is up with that.  Surely I can’t still be growing.

Oh yeah…what woke me up?  I opened one eye and looked around.  It’s still dark in here.  Surely it was just my imagination.  That’s when something strange happened.  I had this strong urge – kind of like an internal clock ticking to wake up mom for breakfast.  What?  When did that start happening?  The urge was strong too.  I opened the other eye, sat up and stretched.  Okay – this has to be a dream.  Where the heck am I?  I let my eyes adjust to the darkness and looked around.  No wonder my feet kept hitting the bottom of the bed.  What is this – a toddler bed?  Where am I?  This is not my bedroom.  I look over at a wall – what does that say?  It’s a picture of a pig wearing cow house shoes and states “Moo Shoe Pork Palace”.  Que diable?!

Again, the strong urge to wake up mom.  I don’t wake up mom like this, especially before the birds start singing and it’s still dark outside.  But for some reason the pull is strong to my bedroom door.  That’s when something so weird happened.  I opened my mouth to bark and it didn’t happen.  Instead of a bark it was a squeal and an oink?!  What in the world!

A few minutes later, my bedroom door opened and I heard a voice say, “Thanks Bacon, time for breakfast.”  Okay, something weird is going on.  First, a cheerful voice telling me it’s breakfast time?  But the voice called me Bacon… then again who cares because they mentioned food.

I take off down the hallway and stop in my tracks.  What?  Where are my stairs?  There’s nothing here but a long hallway.  I go into the living room and look around but my nose tells me there is food coming from the kitchen.  I poke my head into the kitchen and walk through sniffing.  That’s when the voice tells me, “Hey Sunshine.”  I tell you, I had to look around.  Who is Sunshine?  I’m Easy.  That’s when the voice puts down an amazing looking array of food – eggs?  Oh yeah – I like this room service.  Eggs with spinach and some kind of nuggets.  I quickly snarfed it down and looked up. Now to think of it, the call of nature is like calling big time.  I was at the point of crossing my legs by this time.  Can’t this woman see the whites in my eyes floating?  I need to use the facilities BIG time.  I walk through the kitchen and see the back door.  I brush up against it and plead to this woman.  Finally she gets the drift.  “Oh Bacon, you want to go out and play this early?”  No woman – I need to PEE – let me out – let me out – let the weimaraner out!

I run out the back door and almost fell down the stairs of the porch.  Where am I?  This isn’t my backyard.  Although it does look magical – what is that over in the corner?  Is that a squirrel?  I gotta go meet him and I take off running towards him.  Can you believe the guy doesn’t move.  It’s like he knows me or something.  He even talked!  “Hey Bacon, how’s it going this morning?”  Who is this squirrel?  Before I could say anything he further said, “Well have a great day pig, I gotta go work on some important holidays for your blog.”  What?  Who does he think is, Journalist Rocky the Squirrel – barks atcha my friend.

A talking squirrel – now I’ve seen everything.  I shook myself, marked some territory and went back to the door.  What the heck did I eat last night to give me these illusions?  Those mushrooms had to be psychedelic mushrooms – yeah that’s it.  Remind me to never eat those again – ever!

I went back inside and the woman said, “Time for snuggle time” and kept looking at me.  What?  You think I’m a trained pup or something?  Darn this body – where are these guttural movements coming from?  Before I could stop myself, I jumped up in this woman’s lap and started oinking.  Shaking my head.  I gotta stop eating after 8pm.  It definitely had to be the mushrooms last night?

After a while, she said she had to go to work and did I want my television on in my bedroom?  What a television all to myself in a room all to myself.  You have got to be kidding.  Now this part of the nightmare I could get used to… snorts – I mean barks.  I gotta get my barky thing checked out.  I’m going back to bed.

Something is definitely wrong.

But before I could go back to bed, this man appeared all magically delicious and said, “Hey Bacon, you want a snack?”  What?  I tell you at least my dreams have great room service.  The man gives me this piggy plate full of goodies.

Okay – what is up with this?  I mean there’s all kinds of bacon and piggy stuff.  Sure I know my brother across the pond but why give this kind of stuff to the weimaraner?

If anyone figures out this freaky stuff, please let me know okay and thanks!

In Support of France

Today before mom left for work, she lit a candle here at the Hotel Thompson.  A candle for support of France.  For uniting the world.  For a shoulder to lean upon.  For friendship.  For unity in being one.  For the 129 that perished.  We are heartbroken over the acts of terrorists.  They not only touched France, they touched us too by their acts.  We want France to know that they are not alone.

Today, we are going dark here on piglove in support of friendship with France in supporting them in their time of need.  We will have our candle lit all day here at the Hotel Thompson.  We would love you for to support this cause as well.

Pay it Forward

Okay Friends – Here We Go!

My sweet friends at Nikitaland have started this monthly issue of Pay It Forward.  We asked for you to keep this in mind all month and to share things here today on what you have been able to do.  Paying it forward is not for bragging purposes – it’s an attempt to show how many different things we can do to pay it forward – lots of them don’t even include money.  Gestures that we take for granite may be a God send to another person.  So here we go – I’ll start on what mommy has done in the past month.

.

  • Mom did another adventure through the McDonald’s drive thru in February.  She paid for the guy’s breakfast behind her.  All he had ordered was a biscuit so mom added a drink to his order as well.  She left one of my business cards with “Pass it Forward” on it.  It *made* the guy’s day!  Later on, I got an email stating, “YOU MADE MY DAY.  Thanks for the breakfast.  I will pass it forward.”  See – little things add up to make someone’s day!
  • During the month, mom and dad try to watch out for the trash can out front once a week.  They brought back the neighbor’s can a couple of times.  In this weather, that was awesome!
  • Mom and dad went to Cracker Barrel for dinner one night.  When they were checking out, there was a small boy that was at the cash register.  He was wanting to buy a small toy – it wasn’t much.  He was so polite!  He didn’t have enough money.  Mommy bought him the toy and let him keep his money for another one later on.
  • Now you gotta know that my parents eat out A LOT.  Snorts and rolls with laughter – that’s definitely a post for another time.  One night they went to IHOP.  There was an older man sitting by himself.  My mom in all of her southern charm, invited him to dine with her and dad.  They talked and had coffee for at least an hour.  His wife had passed last year and each week he goes to a restaurant to think of her.  It was a privilege to spend time with him and hear about his life.

Now I want to tell you about some things that was done TO mommy this past month.  Our great friend and co-chair of Pay it Forward, Valerie, is totally awesome!  Mommy has been so sick this past month and Valerie sent mom a pick me up card.  She enclosed a little something inside of the card for mommy to treat herself with a meal.  Now let me tell you.  That made my mommy smile and bubble with happiness.  Valerie – you go way beyond being a friend.  YOU are awesome and you rock!

And to the man at the theater this past weekend – you rock!  You don’t want me to mention your name but you were a life savior.  You see, when me and the hub unit go out sometimes it is difficult for the hub to go to the restroom.  We went to the theater and the bathrooms were dark.  There was no way that he could maneuver by himself.  A gentleman standing nearby waiting for his wife saw our dilemma.  He escorted Jim to the bathroom and out.  What a knight in shining armor – thank you so very much!

Another Pay it Forward we want to throw out is to the Hilton Garden Inn located at 4801 Governor’s Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35805.  If YOU are ever in the area and need a place to stay, mom and dad highly recommend this location.  There are the nicest people at the front desk.  The hotel is overly accommodating with any need or desire you may have.  Not only did they let mom/dad check in early last week, they recommended some wonderful restaurants and was so nice!  Thanks everyone – the stay was great!!

Thanks my friends for reading and supporting the Pay it Forward mission.  What did YOU do this month to make a difference?  Please post on your page and link back so everyone can see that it takes everyone making a small part to do a great dent!

My buddy Nikitaland made up a good deeds sheet.  You can get it here.  You can print it, hang it on your fridge and just jot some things down that you do during the month.  That way at our next meet up, you can share what you have done to PAY IT FORWARD.

AND if you are interested in getting some Pay it Forward bracelets, check out Nikitaland’s post here for ordering information.  Believe me friends – WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Next meet up will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 – mark your calendars!

31 Days of Spook – Story Submission

Oh my friends.  I do hope you have been enjoying my 31 Days of Spook with me this year.  I have had so much fun sharing with you so many spooky things – things that go bump in the night – things that create shadows in the dark – things that maybe make you do a double take.  Today, I have another story submission.  This one is from my great friend Fozzie in Australia.  Do you know Fozzie?  If not, you need to go visit her now and check her out.  She’s got some great stories and photographs from Australia that will absolutely blow you away.  Check her out and tell her this little oinker sent you 🙂  And thanks Fozzie for a great story my friend ❤

“When I came home from hospital with Rhiannon..(some 29 years ago), we lived in a small two bedroom flat. Bradley, our eldest, was in his own room and Rhiannon slept in a cot in our room.  She must have been about a month old when this happened.

We had in our room an old white wicker chair, you know the type that belongs on a porch under the shade of a wisteria. This chair was my grandmas (she was still alive at the time of this incident). Now the story went my grandma and her sister had some to and fro’s over who got to have this chair..and as it happened my grandma got it.. her sister is now deceased. I always loved it and my grandma was happy to give it to me.  And so it sat in the corner of our bedroom..

One night I was woken with the fright of my life.  As I lay on my side asleep, I felt a hand grab my shoulder! I sat bolt upright frozen. Phil was fast asleep. Rhiannon fast asleep. Me wide awake and terrified!

I woke Phil and made him get up to check the flat all over…nothing. I went back to bed..but not to sleep. This happened again for the next three nights. I was terrified so badly that I went to my doctor.

I told him I was sure I was losing my mind, such a violent grab and yet nothing!  My doctor, such a cool young guy he was, simply said to me, ““There’s a lot more to life than what we think. You aren’t nuts, just experiencing something you are not tuned to.”

Eventually, I relaxed a bit more and the grabbing stopped…after I politely asked it to stop as I was needing sleep…since then I have lots of special things happen. Life indeed is a weird and mysterious journey.”

Do You Have a Little Pluviophile In You?

I think my mommy does.  She absolutely loves it when it rains outside and looks miserable.  She says that she feels most alive during these days.  She’s a strange human.  But then again I thought to myself, I wonder if there are others like her out there.  So my friends I ask you.  Do you have a little pluviophile in you?  Snorts.  Happy October! IMG_0582.JPG

Bacons Tales of Terror

Count Baconula is back my friends!  Thank you so much for the overwhelming results of my poll on bringing back 31 Days of Spook next October 2014.  I had such a ball with it this year!  A suggestion was made by Easy at http://easyweimaraner.wordpress.com/ to maybe come up with a spook once a month.  Me and the humans discussed  it and what do you know – they agreed.  Thanks Easy!

It was further discussed what day could we do a spook posting.  Mom immediately said the 13th – I mean isn’t that the best day of the month?  Evil 13th – snorts.

So, today I bring you Bacons Tales of Terror – my first edition on the 13th.  I hope you enjoy it my friends.

 .

Today I’m going to talk about things that go bump in the night here at the Hotel Thompson.  This is a true story – I’ve actually heard it myself.  The first time it happened was about a year ago.  Mom, dad, the purr things and I were all sitting in the living room and it was early afternoon.  It was storming outside and the electricity had just went off.  The living room was dark, the rain was hitting the windows and you could hear the clapping of the thunder that was shaking our house.

Everyone is accounted for and out of the blue we heard a squeak.  It wasn’t a mouse or a toy.  We don’t have squeaky toys because someone – looks around innocently – likes to chew the toy until the squeak comes out and dies.  Therefore, we don’t keep anything ‘squeaky’ in the house because it might be a choking hazard for one of us anipals.  It was loud.  We couldn’t figure out where it came from.  And we all heard it because we anipals jumped on the floor to search for it.  It sounded like it was right in the room with us.  It was strange to say the least.  Shortly after, the electricity came back on at the house.  Weird but we wrote it off.

Then about six months later, it was late at night and we were all camped out in mom/dad’s bedroom on their bed.  It was quiet, there was no television on and mom/dad were just talking.  We heard it again.  And again it sounded like it was right in the room with us.  The same before – a loud squeak – and all of us anipals jumped up from a sleep position to standing up on the bed wondering where it came from.  We were mystified.

It’s happened twice now.  I’m not sure what it is or where it is coming from but it’s there.  It doesn’t sound like a ‘squeaky toy’ per say.  It doesn’t sound like one of us anipals “squeaking”.  It doesn’t sound like a mouse “squeaking” – it would be a huge mouse if it was my friends!  It happens quick and we never know when.  Both times it was towards nightfall, one time was a storm outside.  It’s just one weird sounding squeak and it seems to be in the room where we all are at the time.

Makes you wonder.  Do you have strange sounds in your home?  Things that go bump in the night that you can’t figure out?

Age Appropriate? Come on Dad

BOO!

Were you scared?  PLOL (Pig Laughing Out Loud).  I put a sheet on myself last night and was running through the house snorting and booing.  I think I scared daddy and made him jump.  It was kind of funny and he said he was laughing inside.  He said I kind of gave it away with the sheet over my snout.

He also told me that I’ve been watching too many paranmoral ghost shows.  Aaaww dad – come on.  Is there ever *too* many paranormal ghost shows?  He then told me that perhaps some of them weren’t age appropriate for me.  Really?  Come on dad – I’m a pig.  Is there anything really not age appropriate for me?  I’m not like those scaredy cats around the house.  I’m a man pig.  I can take it.

Mom lets me stay up and watch these types of shows her, especially on Friday and Saturday nights when there’s no work the next day.  They’re great fun.  It almost makes me want to go outside and try a spooky place.  Of course, I am ‘slightly’ afraid of the dark so I’m not sure how far that would go.  But, it would be fun to blog about, don’t you think?
