The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939)
That makes Batman as a Comic-hero now 76 this year … He deserves his senior citizens free bus pass …

It is from German Großmutter (a direct translation for Grandmother) – Oma is easier to pronounce for the little ones … the very little ones may even say Omi (pronounce Omee) …

OMG that is terrible!!! But hilarious!!! (PS, I bought the DVD collection of the old series for a trip down memory lane. But the new series on Fox–Gotham–have you seen it? I used to watch the last five minutes before my Sleepy Hollow episode and now I have to catch up with the rest of it. Kapow!!!)

Snorts! The old series is our favorite. We have tried to watch Gotham but it’s too dark for daddy to follow with his vision problems. And it came on after my bedtime. I may look it up to see if it’s on Netflix yet. XOXO – Bacon
