Pay it Forward – Mark Your Calendars

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Paying it forward is is something that we want to start in the new year of 2015. You know the old saying of, “Do onto others as you want them to do onto you?”  Well, let’s put it in action in 2015.  Every month on the first Wednesday of the month, we are hosting Pay it Forward with my friends from Nikitaland.

Paying it forward is simple.  You do something for someone out of the blue, not asking for anything in return just because you can.  It’s little things that count. Karma comes around for all of us.

Here are a few examples:

Pay for the person behind you at a drive thru – could be as simple as a cup of coffee or breakfast.

Help someone take their groceries to their car at the grocery store.

Give extra as a tip to your waiter/waitress.

Visit a elderly neighbor and spend some time with them.  Read to them or bring them lunch.  Listen to them as they talk.

Pay for the person behind you at a toll booth.

Put money in a parking space for someone whose time is getting close to expiring.

Make a donation.

Cook lunch or dinner for a neighbor in need.

Offer to babysit for free to a couple who needs a night out.

See, it’s the little things that count that make the most.  Just being there for someone to see their smile can bring great karma your way.  So in the new year of 2015 – let’s Pay it Forward.

You have an entire month to Pay it Forward.  Do little things.  We will meet back here on my blog on June 3, 2015 to post about what we have done and how we have touched someones life in 2015.  I hope this inspires you my friends ❤

Pet Peeve Wednesday

Come along my friends – It’s Pet Peeve Wednesday!  Squeals.

Now is the time to get those icky pet peeves off of your chest.  We all have them.  Most of them just tuck them away, shake them off if you will.  Today though to help out with the rising stress levels, go ahead and rant.  I will listen.  I’m all ears… it might look like I’m sleeping here but I listened to mom rant this morning.  I’m a good listener.  What’s bugging you today?

I’ll even let mom go first here –

Dear White SUV on Old Dixie Road this morning,  You almost ran me off the road while you were in such a hurry to get to your destination.  I’ll give you the doubt that maybe you didn’t see my small little Smart car RIGHT BESIDE YOU.  Funny thing is though – you were in such a hurry to run me off the road, pass me like you were being chased by King Kong himself and guess what.  I met you at the next traffic light.  I was right behind you while you were applying your make-up in the rear view mirror.  Perhaps you saw me when I waved?

International NO DIET Day

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

Keeping his paws on the nuts of the world –

.

May 6, 2013 is International No DIEt Day – yes this is a day that I think me and the pig can definitely enjoy!  This day encourages everyone to appreciate the bodies they have and that we all come in different shapes and sizes.  There is no ‘right’ shape or size to be happy.  If you are watching what you eat, take today as a holiday and excuse for being a no diet day.  Enjoy my friends!

Did you know that International No Diet Day was created by Mary Evans Young in 1992?  She was the director of “Diet Breakers”.  She personally experienced anorexia and worked to help people appreciate themselves for what they are and to appreciate the body they have.
