Packaging – Attention Manufacturers

09 Apr

Friends – shakes piggy head.  It never fails.  Today we are making major donations to our local Salvation Army in way of furniture – couches, sofas, china cabinet, entertainment center, tables, chairs, etc.  There’s a lot going on here at the Hotel Thompson.  Never fails that mom woke up with a headache – a really bad one.

Listen up manufacturers – really the packaging.  Help!  Please look at exhibit A to the right.  You have to be a rocket scientist sometimes to open these things.  Now let me paint the picture for you vendors – are you listening?  Mom’s in pain.  The headache is knocking hard.  She has a big day scheduled.  She is in one of her don’t-talk-to-me-because-I-can-only-nod-back situations due to the pain.  She gets a pill and it’s wrapped up in this packaging from Fort Knox.  Do you see where I’m going?  She then has to somehow wiggle said pills out of the so called ‘easy to open’ package.  Yeah right – maybe if you are a two year old.  And trust me, there is never a two year old around when you need one for something like this – snorts.

So that’s where we are today my friends.  Waiting for the truck to come and take everything away for Part 2 of the renovation.  And today gives us just over a little over a week for Part 3 to be finished.  Shakes piggy head.  This better end well.

I hear ya…and I hate this procedere…and the worst is when the pill lands somewhere on the floor after you cracked that vault… :o(
we work still on part 1… we need a simple timber beam and my dad is on the way today the third time to get one… probably they are sold out, because our politicians wear it on their forehead as intellectual horizon :o)

Oh dear brother. When it falls out of the package onto the floor and rolls under the bed or table. Aargh! Then mom and dad have to fight to get it before one of us animals. XOXO – Bacon

Haunted is a great word for it. Once mom was taking a pill at work. She opened the package. It fell out of her hands and rolled up under her desk. She cried out in agony. Her boss *moved* her desk to get the pill. Humans are weird like that aren’t they brother? XOXO – Bacon

that’s super weird bro… but the top of pill-o-mania is when you open a package in the bathroom and the darned beast slips away and lands in the bowl… you always should have your phone with you to take a selfie of your puzzled face after noticing that this pill was the last one of the package :o(

Ugh! Pill packages! They’re the worst! Try doing it with RA fingers. Impossible. Mom is a tool-user, so by the time the pills are freed, the house is littered with knives, scissors, staple removers, screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, rakes, shovels, snow plows, bull dozers….

    Love and licks and UGHH!

I we understand completely. Mom has RA too and she hates these packages. Usually dad opens them all and puts them in a bottle but this was a new bottle. And she might have said a few choice words. But don’t tell here I told on her okay. Snorts.

My Mom gets upset about pill packages too – they’re like impossible puzzles to solve. As for the renovation – sounds like BIG progress is being made and if you can just hang in there for a little while longer you will REAP THE REWARDS!!

    Hugs, Sammy

We are definitely on the downside now I think. I’m glad that there’s only just a week left from tomorrow. It has been an ordeal! But don’t worry, mom is keeping notes and I’m taking pictures. XOXO – Bacon

oh you have hit one of Mom’s main grumbles – she hates all this crazy packaging – they never think about hard it is for people with arthritic hands

YES! They *never* think about that. Usually dad will open up all of these packages and put them in a bottle for mom to help her out. This was a new pack though. It’s one of mom’s biggest pet peeves for sure! XOXO – Bacon

Oh no…headaches are the pits….real bad ones even worse. On the bright side of things, it sounds like your reno duty is more than half way through…excellent. Pretty soon you can sit back and relax looking over a almost, brand new house.
