Bacon’s Show and Tell – REMINDER

16 Apr

Today is going to be a twist to our normal Bacon’s Show and Tell.  This month we are going to highlight something that is the oldest in your house.  It could be a person – snorts watch out daddy of mine.  It could be a special dish that you use only on special occasions.  It could be a picture frame of a loved one.  It could be a dress.  Anything.  What is the oldest thing you have in your house?  Take a picture and share it with a story on April 30th, 2015.  Can’t wait to see what you find my friends.  Have fun!

Snorts! I know the feeling. I found so many “old” things while the Hotel Thompson was under renovation. I must pick one to post and talk about. My humans are ancient! XOXO – Bacon

Now, that I come to think of it: there are books in here that are from before WW 2 – even printed in the old font used in Germany then. Yes, I think those books might be the oldest thing in here. They might even have been before WW 1 – as one of those titles I have was first published 1909. The book itself was one from a series called red Ullstein books, sold for 1 Mark (which was a lot of money back then for poor people but still a cheap book) and that series was sold after 1910 (the birth year of my grandfather). So we can safely say it is younger than 1910 and probably older than everything else I got in my apartment. You do not NEED a photo of such a book, do you?
