Sunday, June 18, 2017 –  Today’s plan – get this awful cold out and get rid of this migraine.  Of course somewhere in there involves cleaning the house and doing laundry.  A woman’s job is never done, right?  Miles Moved: 2.02

Monday, June 19, 2017 –  Okay so it’s 12 weeks until “D” day – you know the revealing of the mystery.  So game plan tragedy.  That’s 12 more weeks of hard walking, no sugars/sweets/sodas.  I need to step it up a notch and kick some ass.  Today started out well 🙂 Miles Moved:  4.67

Tuesday, June 20, 2017 –  Yesterday was a great start for my 12 week plan of taking over the world.   Okay maybe not taking over the world but doing something for myself on this journey – snickers.  I’m not walking as much as I did yesterday but I will still be kicking it today.  The last couple of mornings it has been rainy outside so it’s not hot-hot but it’s humidity hot.  I guess you can’t win either way huh? Miles Moved: 3.68

Wednesday, June 21, 2017 –  I can really tell this week with stepping it up on my walking (no pun intended-LOL) that my body is feeling it.  My thighs and butt are really getting some great workouts.  I’m doing my main exercise/workout in the morning before work.  Then throughout the day, I do spot walks from anywhere between 5-15 minutes at a time.  You know to stretch my legs and to give myself a break from sitting at my desk.  It seems to be working.  Miles Moved: 3.92

Thursday, June 22, 2017 –  Sighs.  It’s raining today.  Big time here in the south.  I think we are going some of the effects of Hurricane Cindy.  It’s been so bad this week with the rains that I believe I need to wear my floaties to work… just in case I get caught outside in the rain.  I didn’t walk outside today for obvious reasons but I think I moved pretty good inside.   Miles Moved: 2.37

Friday, June 23, 2017 –  I wore my “I can’t adult today” t-shirt.  That tells you everything I’m feeling today – LOL.  I need the weekend, some rest and relaxation.  Maybe some wine.  Wine fixes everything – LOL 🙂  Miles Moved: 2.18

Saturday, June 24, 2017 –  I’ve earned it this week.  Today I’m walking my 30 minutes but I’m not pushing it.  I’m doing a small walk and then me and the hub are heading to the spa.  It’s time for us to get some pampering – my nails need it desperately, a little chair massage and relaxation.  Bring it! Thoughts for the week:  Make a goal and shoot for it.  For me that’s working.  Every week I make a challenge for myself.  That gives me something to look forward to with the week.  Sometimes it might be small and sometimes it might be something big – like this week.  I’ve ‘trained’ my body for six months now in walking.  I was determined to hit 10,000 steps in one day.  And it’s a juggle.  You have work.  You have home.  You have to take care of the kids/cooking, etc.  It really doesn’t leave much time to walk 10,000 steps in one day.  I’ve been close before but this week I hit it on the nail!  

So I hit it.  Is 10,000 steps over now?  Of course not.  Now I challenge myself to do it again.  Remember small goals turn into big accomplishments. ❤

Journey with Friends – Week 24

Sunday, June 11, 2017 –  Another day of running around until late at night.  One of these weekends, I have got to slow down and just get some rest… yeah right. I think it should be three day weekends and four day work weeks.  I like the sound of that.  What about you?   Miles Moved: 1.65

Monday, June 12, 2017 –  I’m stepping it up a notch for the next 12 weeks.  I’m changing my walk routine for the early morning hours so that it might be a little cooler outside on the hills.  My next goal is to hit 10,000 steps in one day.  I’ve gotten as close as 8,000 steps but never 10,000.  I’m going to get it though in the next 12 weeks – you just watch and see!  Miles Moved: 3.19

Tuesday, June 13, 2017 –  It’s going to happen.  I’m telling you – 10,000 steps will be mine – LOL.  Yesterday I did almost 7,200 steps.  Shaking my head.  It’s a personal challenge now.  And you do know me.  I’m always up for a challenge and I will get it.    Miles Moved: 2.79

Wednesday, June 14, 2017 –  Thank goodness I’m walking in the mornings and bringing a change of clothes.  I really feel like I’m stepping it up this week and boy does my body feel it!  But, never fear it’s a good feeling 🙂  Miles Moved: 2.94

Thursday, June 15, 2017 –  And there you go – hello Summer Cold.  aarrgghh – I don’t have time for you germs.  Please go elsewhere.  Heck, I can even give you some forwarding names just not me okay.  Not doing a huge walk today but I will definitely will be doing some walk during the day for sure.   Miles Moved: 1.99

Friday, June 16, 2017 –  And there it is.  A summer cold with a migraine hanging on the horizon.  Yay.  Awesome.  Great news.  I’m so excited – NOT!  I’m being nice to me today and this weekend.  I will be filling those Apple i-Watch rings but I will not be running any marathons.  Miles Moved: 2.40

Saturday, June 17, 2017 –  I tried to be nice to me today with this cold. I think I’m feeling better. I hope anyway. Tomorrow starts another week. I will do housework and errands tomorrow.   Miles Moved: 1.31


Thoughts for the week:  Kicked it up a notch this week by changing my walking.  Still these scales are being stubborn and sticking to the same number.  See normally, I would be frustrated and give up at this point – heck I would have given up weeks ago with the scales not moving if I’m being truthful.  But this is not a quick weight loss.  This is a journey in getting healthier.  I look in the mirror and see a different body than I did six months ago.  I look leaner.  Heck, I’m still overweight but my doctor recently told me some information that really sticks to me.  Healthy is healthy.  It doesn’t mean healthy is skinny.  There are skinny peeps that are not healthy.  There are some bigger peeps that are healthy and vice versa.  It’s about how you feel about your healthy.  I feel pretty good at this state.  I’m never going to be skinny.  I’ve accepted that years ago.  I would like to be smaller and I have a size in mind.  It may not be what others think of but it’s my happy and healthy.

Sunday, June 4, 2017 –   Whoever said that Sunday’s were a day of rest were lying.  It seems like I’m busier on Sundays than any other day during the week.  You know – housecleaning, laundry, errands, etc.  I think I need more than one day to catch up on all of these things.  Really – who’s with me on this?  Miles Moved: 1.38

Monday, June 5, 2017 –  Have you ever thought about how much time you can fit into exercise here/there.  It’s a little crazy at work this week with the schedule.  So instead of getting stressed over it, I just penciled in and walked 15 minutes several times during the day.  You get your time in and relieve some stress and all is well at the end of the day.  Good to know.  Who would have ever thought I would be penciling in exercise?  Miles Moved: 2.30

Tuesday, June 6, 2017 – Today started with yearly biometrics for our insurance.  Me and the hub went together and did blood work and other vitals.  Everything should come back in a couple of days.  I’m interested to see if my changes are making a difference.  Miles Moved: 1.97

Wednesday, June 7, 2017 –  This week can be over now with the end of last month.  I’m to my throat with numbers/statistics and I’m done – LOL.  On the other hand, we made some more plans for our mystery surprise in September.  Squeals – it’s getting so exciting now.  I can’t wait to share with you. Thursday, June 8, 2017 –  Can’t we skip over Summer?  I’m just sayin’ – LOL.  It’s so hot outside.  I’m much more of a fall/winter person for real.  But I still got my walk in today – yay!   Miles Moved: 2.17

Friday, June 9, 2017 –   Do you ever have one of those days that you are just tired?  I mean deep down bone exhausted?  That’s me today.  I’m done.  Color me over.  I’m getting through the day, my walk filling those circles on my Apple i-Watch and then I’m getting some rest.  Miles Moved: 1.69

Saturday, June 10, 2017 –  A woman’s job is *never* done, is it?  We did a lot of errands today and a little bit of shopping for the mystery in September.  September needs to go ahead and get here now okay.  Wishing my life away – LOL. Miles Moved: 1.79


Thoughts for the week:  Well my blood work came back this week from the earlier yearly biometrics I had earlier in the week.  Everything came back awesome – squeals!!  I’m so excited.  My A1C is down to a 6.8 and my HDL – WOW!  I could never get my HDL (good cholesterol) over a 32.  This time, it came back a 58!  So bottom line, I started this journey to get healthier and it’s paying off.  Go me!

Sunday, May 28, 2017 –  Crappers!  It finally happened.  I had 27 perfect days on my Apple i-Watch.  My rings were full of exercise, move and standing… every single day.  Until today.  Lowers my head.  I failed 2 hours on my stand.  Out of the entire month, if this is all I didn’t make, I’m good with it!  🙂  Miles Moved: 1.39

Monday, May 29, 2017 – From walking every day now, I don’t have to look forward to my Monday’s anymore to walk.  Funny huh?  Now walking every day is an every day event.  I never thought I would make that change.  It’s awesome for sure.  Miles Moved: 1.86

Tuesday, May 30, 2017 –  It is getting way too hot outside.  Oh my gosh.  By the time I get back in, I’m soaking wet these days.  That’s definitely one of the downfalls from living here in the south – the humidity and heat will swelter you for sure!  Miles Moved: 2.48

Wednesday, May 31, 2017 –  It’s always a little hectic in my life the end of the month and at the beginning of the month.  I have to close out one month completely to reopen the next at work.  It involves lots of numbers – lots of digits – lots of calculations.  It keeps me busy and walking helps keep the stress off of my shoulders.  Miles Moved: 2.36

Thursday, June 1, 2017 –  I have to admit that I’m a little stressed right at this point.  I have things going on at work and things going on with our surprise in September.  I’m a little flustered at the moment.  I  have to keep reminding myself to breathe and that everything will fall into place.  And you know what.  It will.   Miles Moved: 2.20

Friday, June 2, 2017 –  I ordered some new glasses a couple of weeks ago.  They came in this week and I’ve been wearing them a couple of days now.  I have to admit – I love these new specs!  I *hated* my old glasses.  Everything was so dark but with these they are awesome.  Everything is so well lit.  I absolutely dig them!  Miles Moved: 2.28

Saturday, June 3, 2017 –  Houdini off to the spa, mom/dad off for some shopping, pick up Houdini and then off to work for a couple of hours.  A family that works together, stays together – giggles.  Miles Moved: 1.70


Thoughts for the week:  As you can see above, all but for 2 hours of stand time on the 28th of May, I had a *perfect* month.  Go me!! ❤  Now, I’m shooting for a perfect June.  I never thought I would be doing this in my life.  Me – exercise = no way.  That used to be my calculation – LOL.  Nowadays, it’s where can I fit in some walk time – some me time to think about life.  It’s definitely been a bonus for sure.  And no, the scale hasn’t moved but you know what.  I’m good with that.  I feel healthier in my choices.  I feel healthier in my exercises.  I could do more I’m sure.  But for now, I’m feeling great!
