Chucky Lives!

So there was mom/dad rolling down the street doing their errands one weekend.  They stop at a stoplight.  Mom looks over and says, “WTP”.  Dad of course is like what?  Mom says, “Give me the camera – Give me the camera – I gotta take a picture of this”.

Okay that kind of statement means Trouble with a capital T.  It can’t end well – I’m just telling you my friends.  I’ve been around mom long enough to know there will be a blog posting coming from those words.

So mom proceeds to click off a couple of pictures to dad’s continuous, “What’s going on?”  Mom told dad he wasn’t going to believe what she just witnessed – it was scarier than she could put into words – it was unfathomably – aliens surely had to have something to do with this – it was that BIG.

So for your visual understand, I blew the picture up.  What did I tell you?  Scary huh?  That is CHUCKY tied to the back of a pick up truck.  You know there’s a good story behind that!

Simpler Times

While Bacon is a camp this week, I want to focus on a few things that as adults we have forgotten about when we were children. LOL – this only makes sense since my little guy is away at Camp.  He grunted like he didn’t want to go but I think he secretly loved getting away and traveling like his pet rock.

It seems like when we were younger, that was the more simpler times in our lives.  As children we didn’t have bills or a lot of toys but it seemed like we had the world at our feet.  We went outside and played.  I mean ran around and played ball, climbed trees and searched for bugs and watched the moonlight. We played hopscotch and hide and go seek.  We socialized with other kids, screamed outside and had a blast.  As long as we were in ears reach of our parents when they called, we were rich with our nature.  Do you remember staying out late and catching lightening bugs? Or do you remember chasing frogs?

And oh should we discuss riding in the family car with our parents on long trips.  We didn’t use seat belts and look – we all survived which was amazing.  I remember going on vacation and we would leave at night and drive to our destination.  Us kids would be sacked out in the back of the car.  One of us would lay across the floorboards, one of us would get the seat to stretch out and one of us would sleep in the back window  The horror of not wearing seat belts!  Now *those* were the days.  And what about going to the lake.  You would throw a bunch of blankets in the back of the pick up truck so that you had a place to lay down after swimming all day so you could watch the stars in the sky.

We played so hard as children that when we went to bed we would have ‘growing pains’ in our legs from running all day.  Do you remember those?  But hey it was all worth it because the next day we would be out doing it all again.

And we watched the *good* cartoons like Scooby Doo, the Jetson’s, Tom and Jerry and the Flintstones.  Cartoons that actually made sense and are still fun to watch this day. And after dinner, we watched television with the parents until bed time.  Awesome shows like Happy Days, Fantasy Island, Mork and Mindy, Chips, Wonder Woman, the Facts of Life and Alice.  Who could forget Alice?  “Kiss my grits!”

What do you remember from childhood.  What did you do that you don’t see children doing these days?

Who You Gonna Call?

Sometimes you see something that is so simply amazing – so out of this world – so well full of it – snorts. I saw this picture on the Internet and I couldn’t believe it. I just had to share. I know you can come up with some of your own jokes after seeing this picture. So go – whatcha got?

Dear Bacon

20130428-204104.jpg

Dear Bacon,

Lots of times when the humans go to work, I just have a lazy day.  I will go out back, climb into the little fabric thingy and take a siesta.  It’s actually very comfortable.  Have you ever tried this?  Signed, Sleepy Pooch

Dear Sleepy Pooch,

It actually does look most comfortable.  I’ve never seen one in real life – just on the net and television commercials.  You can’t really hang one in the house cause you know I’m anti-nature boy right now.  I’m working on that though in therapy.  I’ll keep you posted about my future endeavors with that fabric thingy.

Dear Bacon,

There is *nothing* like hanging in the bed of a pick up truck, going fast and feeling the wind pass your face giving you this special look.  When dad says, “Let’s go for a ride”, I’m there in the back of the truck before he can unlock it and buckle in.  You’ve gotta get over this nature anxiety and try this.  It’s a hoot!  It’s kind of like the amusement park Six Flags for dogs 🙂  Signed, Wind in my Face

Dear Wind in my Face,

Well my friend, that is quite the look you have there.  I kind of like it.  It does look refreshing and I have to admit that it does kind of look fun.  I’m all for a little excitement in life.  Maybe once I’m done with my therapy, I’ll give it a shot!

Dear Bacon,

Don’t judge.  It’s hard work to maintain this alluring and sexy look.  You should know all about hard work in maintaining your excellent physique.  Signed Curlers

Dear Curlers,

No judgement here my friend.  You look kind of cute with those pink things in your hair.

Dear Bacon,

Last night, we took your advice and watched one of your paranormal ghost shows that you talk about at times.  Oh dear Lord – those things are scary!  I was trying to cover my buddies eyes so he wouldn’t see the worst parts.  I don’t know how we made it through the entire show.  Of course, afterwards we had to sleep with the lights on.  How do you watch these things little pig??  Signed Scaredy Clan

Dear Scaredy Clan,

You poor things.  I usually watch them with my mom.  Did you two watch them all by yourselves?  Bless your little hearts.  You *have* to watch them with the humans.  That way they shield you from all of the scarey moments.

Dear Bacon,

My friends are really mean squirrels. We all decided to play hide and go seek in the neighborhood.  I jumped up, closed my eyes and began to count nuts to 20 thinking that everyone would be hiding.  What I didn’t know was that instead of hiding, they all surrounded me and watched me counting nuts.  One of them actually took this picture and has spread it all over the internet – the nerve!  What’s a little guy to do my friend?  Signed Cheated

Dear Cheated,

One word – Retaliation.  I can hook you up with two of the finest – Journalist Rocky the Squirrel and Evil Squirrel here on WordPress.  They can help you come up with the best way to get back at those tricky little friends of yours.  Hey – it’s all fun and games, right?
