Hey my friends – happy Friday! Hope you are all full of Thanksgiving dinner. I know we are here at the Hotel Thompson. The proof is in this picture. See me and Hemi can play nice with each other. Of course we are full. I wasn’t ready for picture taking. I was sleeping and full. Go away mom – barks with puppy laughter. Things are settling here with mom. Taking care of humans is hard work normally. But taking care of the mom this week has been exhausting. Don’t worry my friends. She is feeling a lot better and will be posting an update soon. Lately all she’s had time for is naps on top of more naps. But soon – the mommy and the daddy will be back!
Barks my friends! I’ve been on patrol here at the Hotel Thompson trying to take care of mom. I haven’t left her side very much. She can’t pick me up but I sneak up to her side every once in a while and give her sloppy puppy kisses. I know she is hurting. Dogs have this sense, you know. She doesn’t move much these days and when she does, she groans. I’m hoping she starts to feel better soon. Daddy said she had something called surgery. All I know is that she came home Wednesday smelling all funny – clinical funny. Hemi tried to explain it to me but I wasn’t listening. I was too busy trying to sniff mom out and make sure she’s okay. She’s been traveling slowly back and forth from the bedroom to the living room. We will all keep you posted my friends. Thanks so much for all of the prayers, emails and calls. Barks my sweet friends! Some people go door to door on Halloween to get candy. I wait in my crib at the Hotel Thompson and get clothes – barks with puppy laughter! Don’t you just love all of the shirts I got? Everyone kept bringing them to me. I’m so excited! Which one is your favorite?
Barks! Hello friends. I hope that you’ve had a wonderful week. Mom has been going through baby pictures again – shaking my head. This so can’t end well for us here at the Hotel Thompson. Mommy has baby fever. Please someone make it stop. She found this picture of me when I was a baby dressed in my onesie pajamas. I have to admit to you, they still fit. And I can’t wait until it gets cooler outside and I can wear them again. I kind of like that teddy bear on the pajamas that hangs out on my butt. Sshh – don’t tell anyone okay.

Sometimes you have to stop in life. Just stop and breathe for a bit. Relax a little. Enjoy your being… your environment. Know that you are safe. Know that you are loved. Know that you are cared for. Let yourself go and know nothing will happen to you. You are safe. You are held and loved. Your humans would never let anyone or anything harm you in any way. Sometimes that is the best sleep. Laying on your mom’s chest. Hearing her heartbeat matching it to your own. Thump.thump.thump… slowly and solid hearing her breathe and feeling it on you. Sighs…a happy life.

Mom was going through our baby book last weekend and came across the picture of me when I was a mere babe on the day that I adopted them. I think I weighed right around 3-4 pounds at the time and I was around 5-6 months. Wasn’t I small. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m small now. But back in the day, I was really small. Mom called me her little furball all the time. I fit so snugly in Nana’s hands that day. She held me all the way home. aaww – those were the days.
I was so glad to be adopted to my forever home. Sometimes it’s hard for me to remember that far back – three years ago. Sometimes it feels like I’ve been here at the Hotel Thompson forever with my family. I wouldn’t want it any other way for sure.

Barks! Hey sweet friends. How has your week gone? Here at the Hotel Thompson, we’ve had storms with icky rains and thunder all week. It was like someone outside was throwing a huge bowling party for a while. It doesn’t help that the Hotel Thompson sits in a little gully and there is a creek in the lower part of our backyard. So when it thunders, it almost shakes our entire house. At times, I feel like Toto in the Wizard of Oz.
Mom caught me in deep thought pondering about the rains yesterday. I was watching the rain come down outside the window. Every once in a while, my tail would wiggle in anticipation of the next BOOM of thunder. One day, I will catch that boom and make it mine for all of the times it scares me.
Hopefully the rains will stop for this weekend and we can have a great time of snuggles and treats. I hope you have a great one as well sweet friends. Now I leave you with silly daddy in his Jokes with Daddy. Enjoy!
Okay admission is the first step. Mom has stepped over the line. Is it sanity or insanity? She kept telling daddy that she ordered some ‘special’ pillows for the living room chaise. Dad was like whatever okay. But mom continued to say they were ‘special’. Well they came in and I guess they are special. They look somewhat familiar. Of course I’m under strict orders not to touch them, look at them or go near them. What kind of pillows are they if I can roll all over them, right?
Of course mom was oohing and awwing and telling daddy all about them. I just say give me five seconds with them… alone.
