Shopping Around the World – Mark Your Calendars

Thanks to everyone for another great edition of Shopping Around the World.  It’s so awesome to see the various prices around the world!

Me and my pal Fozzie started Shopping Around the World and it has become a huge hit.  We all want to know if we are paying more or less than everyone else – snorts.  We are going to do it again this month on Wednesday, May 27th.

Do a posting on your blog linked back to mine.  That way we can keep track of all of the different prices.  It should be interesting to see the differences between.  Mark your calendar so you can do a posting with us.  This month we are focusing on items that we *have* to have in our lives.

Items to price this month:

  • FIVE Ingredient Salads.  There you go.  Cold salads, pasta salads, seafood salads, chicken salads, hot salads – any salad of your choosing – five ingredients.  List the ingredients, prices and how you make your five ingredient salad.  We have enjoyed seeing everyone’s homemade dish over the past couple of months.  IF you can attach a picture to your FIVE Ingredient Salad that would be awesome!

HAPPY SHOPPING!

Dear Bacon

20140717-070531-25531580.jpg Dear Bacon – This cold.  This awful weather outside.  This snow and ice.  Make.it.go.away.  I’m so ready for Spring.  I go outside to do my business and I just can’t wait to get back inside to the heat.  Help.  Signed Passed Out Frozen

Dear Passed Out Frozen –  Soon my little friend, very soon.  I can almost smell Spring.  I can hear the birds.  I can see the flowers starting to come out to play.  Hang in there little guy – it will be here soon.  I can feel it in my piggy bones!

20140717-070532-25532037.jpg

Dear Bacon –  I think we got it wrong.  See, we heard two fisherman talking about French kissing.  They were describing it but I don’t think this what they meant.  Do you?  Signed Frenchie

Dear Frenchie –  Okay my friends I had to ask daddy about this one because I had no clue as well.  Daddy said that it may feel like you are swallowing the other one’s head if you don’t do it right.  It’s more tongue action and less swallowing the head of your loved one.  He kind of lost me after that.  It sounded gross.  Then I heard mom laughing at me because I said it was gross.  Rolls piggy eyes.  Humans are so weird.  Just stay with regular kissing – best of luck!

20140717-070531-25531807.jpg

Dear Bacon –  Our human, he is weird.  He thought it “would be so neat” to put our food in the middle of the pool full of water.  Really human?  This is funny?  Really?  Bacon you gotta help us to get even.  Signed Pissed Off

Dear Pissed Off –  What in the world?!  This means WAR my friends.  Do you hear me – W.A.R.  Here’s what you do.  There’s this fluffy white stuff the humans *have* to have in their litter box they call the bathroom.  Gather it all.  Every single last roll of the fluffy stuff.  Then take it out back in the back yard and throw it in the pool with all of the water.  Evil snorts.  That’ll get them where it hurts.  Trust me on this.

20140717-070530-25530972.jpg

Dear Bacon –  True love always finds a way.  Whether it is across the world, the next state, the next city or the next stall.  We are firm believers.  Signed Love for Two

Dear Love for Two –  That is so very sweet and special my friend.  As I read it, rain of joyous tears came down my snout.  So sweet – keep it alive my friends.

20140717-070531-25531345.jpg

Dear Bacon – I’m keeping an eye on my brother.  I just left him something and he should smell it in 3, 2, 1 – Barks with laughter.  Signed SBD

Dear SBD – Oh dear piggy heavens.  Don’t tell me SBD as in Silent But Deadly.  Drops piggy head and shakes it.  There’s always one in the group.  WOW!  It never gets old hearing about farts – snorts.

REMEMBER FRIENDS – We can’t have Dear Bacon issues without YOU.  Keep your pictures and questions coming to me via email 🙂

Dear Bacon

20140717-072526-26726630.jpgDear Bacon – All I can say is meow!  What we do for our humans to see the smiles on their faces.  Sometimes a line needs to be drawn.  Me wearing a sock is where that line comes into play.  At least they could have washed the sock first.  Eeow Meow.  Help.  Signed Helpless

Dear Helpless – Let’s look at this in a different way my friend.  Looking at your arms, I don’t see a lot of hair.  Perhaps – and this is stretching it a bit – but perhaps they were thinking of you and your needs.  Perhaps they thought you were cold in this weather?  Yeah, that’s it.  They were trying to comfort you and keep your warm.  Okay, they have a funny way of showing it by using a stinky sock but tell me this.  Did it do the trick?  Are you all snug as a bug and warm in that cocoon?  And hey, you may look like that the little guy from Harry Potter but you do look kind of cute there.  It’s in the eyes my friend.

.

20140717-072525-26725081.jpg

Dear Bacon –  Can’t stop right now.  I’m playing G-Force on the PlayStation.  You know what G-Force is, right?  It’s a game with guinea pigs that have awesome skills – just like me.  Humans don’t understand the game because well they are not us and us have secrets to the world.  You understand right Bacon?  Signed G-Force in Action

Dear G Force in Action – I understand perfectly my little friend.  We take all of gaming very serious.  You should see me on Mario Brothers or Tetris.  I can do wonders in high scores in these games.  What the humans don’t know won’t hurt them.  I gotta go now.  I’m working on some signs for “BACON FOR PRESIDENT 2016”.  What do you think?  Can us anipals pull together and make this happen?  I think we can.  I *know* we can!

.

20140717-072527-26727029.jpg

Dear Bacon – I found this wonderful creation in the home the humans live in.  It’s white and very soft.  So soft that I think it needs to go in my pouch.  Have you ever seen this puffy wonder?  Signed Roo with No Clue

Dear Roo with No Clue –  Oh my friend.  That marshmallow white puff is something that the humans hold close to them in their scratch box room.  It’s like sacred to them for something – I’m not sure what though.  If you are going to take it, take it fast before they catch you.  Awesome find!

..

20140717-072525-26725475.jpg

Dear Bacon –  There I was walking in the jungle, minding my own business and I got a little thirsty.  When what did I see?  I saw this home that some crazy human built in the trees.  I was like WOW that’s fascinating.  So I walked over to it and looked over the edge.  BINGO!  Winner winner this elephant is a winner.  I found a watering hole just for me!  I don’t think they would mind.  Have you ever seen anything like this?  Signed Bingo

Dear Bingo – Awesome find my friend.  I’ve seen this guy on television make these homes in the tree.  I would love to have one.  I’ve been trying to talk my dad into it but somehow he doesn’t think it’s a great idea.  I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be.  Have fun my friend.  Say hey to the humans for me. .

REMEMBER FRIENDS – Dear Bacon can’t happen without *you*.  Please keep sending your pictures and letters to me via email 🙂

31 Days of Spook – Halloween Decorations

Awesome Halloween idea for decorating around the house.

I ❤ this idea!  What’s not to love?!  AND, anyone can do it – even this little oinker.  We *all* have these paper rolls from the bathroom tissue.  You know we never know what to do with them except put them in the trash can.  Now there’s actually a use for them.  Follow the instructions below to add some ‘creepiness’ around your house for the holidays.  Awesome idea huh – snorts?

Shopping Around the World – REMINDER

REMINDER

Me and my pal Fozzie have scheduled Shopping Around the World for:

Wednesday, August 27, 2014.

Do a posting on your blog linked back to mine.  That way we can keep track of all of the different prices.  It should be interesting to see the differences between.  Mark your calendar so you can do a posting with us.

This month we are focusing on items that we *have* to have in our lives.

Items to price this month:

  • Water.  Let’s shoot for a price on a 24 pack of water.  This is something that we use every day and can’t live without.  Some people drink it straight from the faucet while others of us buy bottles.  What is the price of a 24 pack of water in your area and what brand?
  • Bath Soap.  Something ‘most’ of us use when we shower – or I hope so anyway snorts. What brand do you get, how many boxes together and how much.  I say how many boxes because I know sometimes they are sold in packages of 1 or 2 – sometimes more.
  • Deodorant.  This is something that has blown mom’s mind lately – the price of deodorant – WOW!  Again, this is something that most of us use every day or should.  Tell us what brand you get and how much.
  • Laundry Detergent.  Another product that is important in our lives while washing our clothes.  What kind do you buy, the price and size.
  • Random Item.  This is something that we are going to start incorporating every month.  This is your choice.  List a random item from your area, what it is and the price.  ALL YOUR CHOICE.

Come join the fun of Shopping Around the World – mark your calendars Wednesday, August 27, 2014!

If you have suggestions for the September issue, please send them to me at baconthompson@gmail.com

Shopping Around the World

My friend Fozzie and I have scheduled a group posting today of Shopping Around the World.   We thought it would be interesting to see the differences between different countries all over. Here are our prices for the following from our area – Georgia USA:

  •  Toilet PaperAt the Hotel Thompson, we prefer Charmin Ultra soft.  That’s one thing we don’t skimp on… something about dad’s delicate hindquarters – snorts.  They come 9 rolls to a package and it costs $6.50 package.
  • Regular package of ground beef – We buy the store brand of ground chuck that usually sells for $2.99 a pound.  This is for a small package that we use for burgers and chili.  The package costs around $4.50-$5.00 for what we get.
  • Store bought pizza.  Daddy ❤ pizza.  He can eat it ALL OF THE TIME.  For store bought pizza, we get Tortinos pizzas.  Mom stocks up on them when they are on sale for $1.00 each.  They are just enough for one person.
  • Package of hot dogsWe buy Hebrew National hot dogs here at the Hotel Thompson for obvious reasons – snort snort.  They run $3.50 a pack on sale.  Off sale – $4.99 pack.
  • Package of bacon – Daddy said we had to include this one – rolls piggy eyes.  When mom/dad cook it here, they get Smithfield thick cut which runs $4.99 a pack!  That’s highway robbery – well so says daddy – snorts.

T

If you have some items that you want to get on the list, email me at baconthompson@gmail.com

Hope you had fun!!
