Oh my friends – didn’t you get a chill just reading that title – dismemberment? It does bring me shutters thinking about it. You see this is a story that read about and heard on television. I couldn’t believe my piggy eyes and ears! I was shocked and ran to tell mom/dad. They were in awe as well.
There was a man that lived in Tennessee. Back in November of last year, he and his wife had a huge fight. Things didn’t end well. The fight escalated and the guy ended up killing his wife, dismembering her and putting her in their freezer in the garage of their house. There she was for two days.
During those two days, the man kept thinking his wife was coming to him in his dreams about what happened. He finally went and checked the freezer and she was alive! They had a long conversation and she was telling him how much she loved him. He was crying when he called 911 to come out and help her.
The police arrived to the house. When they went into the garage, there was no way the woman could have been talking to the guy – she was dead and had been for several days. Did she come back to seek her revenge?
Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY. This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better. Some of them, you may already know. We hope that you enjoy this series!
❤ NOTE – Daisy will be checking in throughout the day for any messages/comments. Let’s show her some love my friends. ❤
Name: Daisy
Age: A Lady never tells her age! So we guesstimate a year…
Location: Pennsylvania….a long way from Tennessee (where I was born)! I was rescued from a high-kill shelter.
What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents? Is this really it? Am I in my forever home? Will they put up with all my shenanigans? Will they keep me, even though I am a tad under the weather right now? (THEY ARE!!!)
What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home? When I attacked my new brother and they did not throw me out!
What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home? One moment?…well there have been quite a few…I seem to have a penchant for knocking glass things off tables. I have broken two so far.
Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why? Hmmm, I think it is really pretty equal. Mom puts up with some things and Dad others. But, Dad does keep telling Mom when I do something naughty …” aw she’s just a kitten!”
What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you? That I am a real push over because of my beauty! That I suffer from blonde syndrome….well don’t mess with me. I am beautiful, smart, cunning and charming! And I will use all my wiles to get exactly what I want!
♥
Hope you enjoyed meeting my friend – check back next week for another Spotlight edition!

Happy hauntings my sweet friends. Today I have a story for you that was sent to me by Lexi’s mom, Amy. Amy told me to look into a haunted place in Chattanooga, Tennessee called the Sheraton Read House Hotel. This sounded just like the place I needed for my 31 Days of Spook so I started my research. I was *not* disappointed at all my friends. So if you need to, grab someones hand, paw or hoof and get ready for a bumpy ride.
The Sheraton Read House Hotel is located at 827 Broad Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee. The most haunted room in the hotel is room 311. Room 311 is rumored to be haunted. You see back in the day there was a lady named Annalisa Netherly who lived at the hotel with her husband. One day, her husband came to the hotel and let’s just say caught Annalisa Netherly in a compromising position with another man. Well, the husband lost his mind – was it momentarily or was it already lost – and killed Annalisa.
Now if you talk to some of the workers of the Sheraton Read House Hotel that have been there for years and know about the history, they will tell you that room 311 isn’t really the room that this death took place. They remodeled the hotel and sealed off the room the murder actually took place. They then moved the room number down one door. Now the murder room is still there and you can see the barred window but yet the room remains empty… or is it.
And also a side note that I found out during my research. When Al Capone was awaiting trial, he stayed in the murder room. Can you imagine that? And let us not forget of the story of a soldier ghosts that walks around the 4th floor of the hotel.
And if that murder room and soldier ghost isn’t intriguing enough, there are also secret corridors throughout the hotel. Some that even the longest employees haven’t even found yet.
So my friends, are you ready for a field trip to spend the night next door to the murder room?
AND A SIDE NOTE: This is a personal story that happened to Lexi’s mom, Amy. Shivers to mergatroid!
Long before Lexi was born, this actually happened. At that time, I lived in a house just north of Cleveland, Tennessee. I had three pictures hanging adjacent to each other on two walls. For a while, when I would get up in the morning, I was sure they had been rearranged. (They were very similar.) So one night when no one else was home and no one else was going to be home before morning, just before retiring for the night, I said out loud, “If you can hear me, I want this picture (pointing) over here and this one over there.” The next morning they had been rearranged, and instead of hanging on the walls, they were propped on the floor in the order I had specified. The spirit wanted to be sure I noticed.

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents? Holy Cow, what’s that big dog doing with them?
What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home? I was so little, only 8 weeks old, and the first time I had ever been away from the only family I knew, including my doggie mommy and siblings. It was a bit scary at first, especially having to jump under chairs to avoid being flattened by the big, playful GSD. Then, an inspiration hit! I pulled all the dog towels into the middle of the room, piled all the dog toys on top of them, and climbed aboard, claiming everything for ME. That’s the point I knew this was MY home!
What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home? Hmm, there was the third pair of Mom’s flip flops that I chewed up in the same summer. She was furious, but really, how many did I have to chew up before she learned? Or maybe the time I caught a baby bird and Mom chased me the entire way around the outside of our house screaming for me to drop it. When she finally caught me the bird was dead and Mommy cried. Or maybe it was the time I got up on the kitchen table while everyone was gone and ate an entire bowl of red cherries. Mom made me vomit when she came home. Yep, pick one.
Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why? I would say Mommy, because we have always been together, through everything, and I know she probably loves me best. But I have to say Daddy, because when Mom doesn’t take me to work, I am able to control his day from his home office. Stop what you are doing and…let me out, let me in, give me a treat, pay attention to me, let me out again, let me in again, give me lots more treats, it’s go to the mailbox (GTM) time, more treat time, etc. It’s so much fun, I can’t imagine why Daddy begs Mom to take me to work with her.
What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you? That I’m sweet, BOL! When people say that, Mom just rolls her eyes.
Hope you enjoyed meeting my friend Lexi – check back next week for another Spotlight edition!
Okay – maybe a little joke. You see mommy was at work yesterday. One of her bosses came up to her and said, “Look, it’s getting rough outside, go ahead and leave”. Now, it was only 15 minutes early (doh!) but mom packed up and went outside expecting the worse.
That’s when she had to look hard to find the “weather is getting worse” statement one of her bosses made. Okay, there was some white stuff on the windows of the Jeep. But who knows, that could have been a handful of salt – snorts with piggy laughter.
Mom just *had* to take a picture to show everyone in blogville that snow does happen here in the south. Okay, not so much snow but it can happen. What was even funnier is that mom posted this picture of the ‘great snow’ on her Facebook account and sent this picture to friends and family. Everyone thought it was much more funnier that here it is winter time and mom is wearing a thin t-shirt than the great snow – 🙂 LOL. What can I say, my mom is hot stuff and always wears t-shirts year round. Funny huh? Do you wear t-shirts year round too? Are you a warm bodied person like my mom?
I also wanted to share this picture I found on the ‘cloud’ here at the Hotel Thompson that my mom/dad took over the weekend. Shaking piggy head. I tell you my friends. Those two parents of mine can not be trusted to go out and about by themselves.
Daddy got held up at the Target store! Look at that – the proof is in the picture. Nice Mr. Storm Trooper kept saying, “Hans Solo”, and daddy thought he was talking about his hands being solo. I told you – my dad is special – in the mind!
Just by looking at daddy and his attire, can you guess what football team he likes? Is it obvious?
And I thought I would share a little something else I found on the ‘cloud’. Apparently daddy was telling jokes in the car the other day too. So let me present – “Jokes with Daddy”. Let me just apologize in advance okay. Snorts with piggy laughter.

My friend Fozzie and I have scheduled a group posting today of Shopping Around the World. We thought it would be interesting to see the differences between different countries all over. Here are our prices for the following from our area – Georgia USA:
.
.
Items to price this month:
Soup – Yummy! Soup is fantastic in the winter and for colder days. Dad’s favorite ‘can’ soup is Chunky’s Beef Barley. He LOVES that stuff! When mom can find is for a $1.00 a can – she stocks up the cabinets. It’s great, convenient for daddy to prepare and tastes awesome. Yep, I know it does. I’ve licked the bowl a couple of times – snorts!
Christmas Trees – Why are trees so expensive? Of course, the longer you wait until Christmas, the cheaper they are. That makes sense, right? We don’t have a tree here at the Hotel Thompson so I had to check with a friend on this one. Our friends have a five foot fir. It cost them – right after Thanksgiving – nearly $80! Of course, if you wait until the day before Christmas – the price will be so much lower… as well the branches. So it might look like a Charlie Brown tree then. Snorts.
Cold Medicine – Mom couldn’t believe the prices on this! Her and daddy will sometimes take DayQuil or Nyquil. As an alternative, they will buy the store brand of these items. Sometimes if mom is lucky, she can get a combo pack with one of each for around $8.00 – can you believe that? And mom says what is up with Mucinex? Have you seen the prices for that stuff? It’s between $20-25.00 a box. Mom has recently found a generic brand for this at Kroger for $4.00 a bottle! What a mark up for brand name huh?
Hot Drink – This time of the year, there is nothing like something hot and satisfying on your tummy for warmth and to head off a bad cold. Mom LOVES a hot toddy. This is a rather cheap drink because you have most of the items on hand – perhaps less than $2.00 when you calculate. Mommy said I could share her hot toddy recipe below – enjoy and let us know what you think 🙂 It *always* puts mommy in a good mood.
Random Item of your choice. Whiskey – Mommy tries to always keep some Jack Daniels on hand. Her and dad are NOT big drinkers here but there is an occasion when you need this stuff. Her random item will be Jack Daniels Tennessee honey, 750 ml. It costs around $30.00 but lasts for a while and goes GREAT with mom’s hot toddy recipe.
Mom’s Hot Toddy Recipe:
1 teaspoon of honey; 2 ounces of boiling water; 1 1/2 ounces of whiskey (your choice but JD Honey goes great with this recipe); 3 cloves; 1 cinnamon stick; 1 slice of lemon and 1 pinch of nutmeg
Combine all of the ingredients above except for the nutmeg. Let stand for at least five minutes to combine the flavors. Add the sprinkle of nutmeg and then let your worries go away!
Thank you my friends for Shopping Around the World – hope you had a lot of fun!
Miniature pot bellied pig and friends - Bacon, Houdini, Hemi and all of the Rock Clan with Journalist Rocky the Squirrel all out looking for adventures from the Hotel Thompson.
