Oh dear friends. This is just exactly what this oinker needed to hear upon returning home from camping out in the woods all week at Summer Camp. This is what nightmares are made out of – I’m just saying!
So there we all were this past Sunday, all camped out in the living room of the Hotel Thompson watching the locals news on Fox 5 based out of Atlanta, Georgia. This story comes up about – wait for it – a snake. Shivers to mergatroid. And not just any snake. They were talking about a Gaboon Viper.
See, this lady Ms. Lora Brown was riding down the street in her vehicle in Milledgeville, Georgia when she saw something in the road in front of of her. So she did what any of us would do. Upon passing it, she stuck her camera out of the car window and took a picture. Makes sense right? Ms. Lora Brown said it was because of the unique markings that got her attention. This photograph is the one that was shown on Fox 5 news of what Ms. Brown took. First up, awesome markings and I applaud you Ms. Brown for taking a picture instead of creating a speed bump.
Ms. Brown contacted the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to find out what kind of snake this was. Do you know what she was told? It is a Gaboon Viper that originates out of South Africa and are not known to exist in the wild here in Georgia. They are VERY venomous. What it is doing in Georgia no one knows. DNR can’t confirm or disprove that it is even here. They have been out in the woods looking for it and so far have seen no signs of it. Then again from the looks of this picture it seems that it would be able to blend very easily with the vegetation in the woods.
Thank goodness I saw this AFTER my Summer Camp. If I had seen it before leaving, there would be no way come heaven or hell that I would be camping out in the woods. Shivers – this is a SyFy movie in the making!

Monday brings us a lot of choices in life. It’s the first day of the work week and it starts the ‘feel’ and groove of the new week. It’s another week to start over and fresh. It’s also a great night for television which leads us to choices – choices and more choices. And tonight, we have a dilemma at the Hotel Thompson.
Choice A –
Being Human airs on the SyFy channel. Great show. This show is going on the fourth season and we’ve watched every episode. It’s good. There’s Aidan Waite (a vampire), Sally Malik (a ghost), Josh Levison and Nora Sergeant (werewolves). They all live together and their lives have all intertwined with each other through friendship and surviving their individual ‘characteristics’ that they bring to the show. Season 3 ended with a blast in the title “Ruh Roh”. We have a loose end, Kenny, that can still come back. Liam is gone – so there goes the pure breeds. Sally is now in what should we say – purgatory – with Donna. Josh is again a wolf but there’s some connection to Donna. And, in the last shot of this episode, we see someone that looks like Suzanna (Aidan’s wife) appearing on screen. WTP (What the pig)!? Exciting – totally exciting this fourth season is going to be.
.

Choice B –
Sleepy Hollow airs on the Fox network tonight. This is the first season for this show and tonight is the season finale – two hours. Hopefully tonight will tie up some loose ends. What happened to Ichabob’s son? How does Abbie play into everything? The show is actually broken into two shows – hour one is titled The Indispensable Man and hour two is titled Bad Blood. Sacrifices are made and loyalties are tested – that’s what I’m reading about that should happen. How in the world could we miss this??
.
So choices – choices – choices. They both come on at the same time. I don’t have a DVR. I have to pick one over the other which is so hard. And, I don’t want to flip back and forth – I would definitely miss something. You gotta help me out. What’s a little piggy to do? Run back and forth from the living room to my bedroom trying to watch both? I need some help my friends. What will YOU be watching?

Hello friends. This is actually me. I know some of you question as whether or not I’m a pig – I am 🙂 I’m up on the couch for snuggle time with mom getting ready to watch some of our regular television shows.
I wanted to give you a heads up on a new television show that we have started watching on Tuesday nights. It’s called Weird or What? and is hosted by William Shatner. Now, I’m not going to lie. It did take us a couple of weeks to get caught on to the show and now we are full fledged followers.

Here, it comes on the SyFy channel – we *love* that channel. Each episode contains two to three stories of the bizarre and unexplained. It balances out the supernatural vs. scientific theories of the individual cases. It mainly features strange occurrences like ghosts, aliens, monsters, natural disasters and medical oddities.
I don’t think that this is the first time it has been on television. I want to say that it premiered in maybe 2010 and only had three seasons on the Discovery Channel? Someone let me know if I’m wrong.
If you get a chance and you’re looking for something to watch tonight, bounce over to the SyFy channel and check it out. Let me know what you think.

Today is the perfect day. There is a Ghost Hunters marathon on the SyFy channel all day today. Aaww – that is piggy heaven. Watching our favorite show snuggled on the couch with mommy… Okay there might be a little shaking going on. Some of those ghosts can be frightening! But I’m not scared as long as I have my mommy.
I think there will be some popcorn involved in this little marathon later in the day. Have you seen this show? I just love Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. ❤
They even have a Barky thing on the show called Mattie that helps. I think I could help too. They could call me the paranormal piggy!

Did I mention that it’s not raining for a change. There’s no wind. And the weather is perfect – not too cold and not too hot.
What are your plans this fine Sunday??

WARNING – This may have spoilers about the show. I’m caught up on it but just in case you’re not – WARNING!
Monday nights are exciting at the Hotel Thompson for television. All housework must be completed, popcorn must be popped, bathroom breaks need to be done and you need to be in the front room for Being Human at 9:00PM. If I’m still up, I get to watch. I admit it’s scary but it’s the greatest show. The down side to the show is it’s only an hour long each Monday. It’s one of those shows that you start watching and all of a sudden the hour is up and you’re like WOW – Did that just happen!?
Being Human started on the BBC and was a British supernatural drama. It started in the United States as a supernatural drama in 2011 on the SyFy channel. We’ve watched all of the seasons, have the videos and make it a regular weekly show on Mondays for our family movie night. It is awesome! Here’s a little breakdown to wet your interest and make you want to watch.

The show revolves around three of the main characters: a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire. That’s a mix of characters already, isn’t it? Intriguing in its ownself right there. The ghost, Sally Malik, has been through her own little ordeal the first couple of seasons. There’s always a reason why you stay as ghost after death, why you don’t pass over. You know, unfinished business and all. Well, she had a lot. We find out that Sally got killed and that’s why she can’t find her door to cross over. Bummer huh? But not to fear, Sally is a lovely lady and in this season she is no longer a ghost 🙂 , she is something ‘else’. For the details in that something else, well you’re going to have to watch the show. She’s blossomed into a bigger character than I ever thought possibe.
The werewolf is Josh. Since he has four legs once a month, I kind of favor him at times. He’s also on mom’s Facebook – so yes we pick favorites – snort. In the beginning of the show, he was camping with a friend in the woods and got attacked by a werewolf thus making him now a wolfie on the full moon. He just really wants to be normal. I can’t go into details about it but personally now I think he’s more normal than any of them – snort.
His bestie is the vampire, Aidan Waite. Aidan and Josh just want to fit in and be like everyday normal peeps. They both work at the local hospital – I know outrageous huh? They decide to move in together to have a kind of normalcy both knowing the others conditions. They find a house and move in and that’s when they meet Sally.
So bottom line, we have three unique people all living together trying to have a normal life despite being a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire. You think that’s enough? Of course not. Josh falls in love with Nora who also works at the hospital. She has had a really rough time in the love department. Unfortunately… or we might say fortunately after you’ve watched a couple of episodes… Nora also turns into a wolfie.
I didn’t give away too much details. It’s really an awesome show and I would give it four hooves up but I would fall on the floor so how about three hooves up? You gotta give it a try and watch a couple of shows to see if you don’t get hooked. I know we did!
