Date Night at the Movies

This past weekend my humans decided to venture to the cheap theaters to see the movie Ride Along starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube.  It’s been out at the theaters for a while and mom and dad have been wanting to see it.  They told me about it when they got home.  It sounded like it was hilarious.  In fact, mommy said her tummy hurt where she had been laughing so much.

The movie takes place here in Atlanta, Georgia.  Mom and dad actually recognized a lot of the buildings which was cool.   Kevin Hart’s character is called Ben and he is currently a security guard dating Ice Cube’s character James’ sister Angela.  Got that?  James is a cop – a good decorated APD detective.  James doesn’t approve of Ben who wants to marry Angela.  Ben has been accepted into the academy and wants James blessing to marry his sister.

To prove that Ben can take care of Angela, James tells him to ride along with him for one day to see what he is made of to be with Angela.  James calls radio and tells them to give him all of the calls that will scare the heck out of Ben.  It *almost* works.  This ride along turns into a wild night with one of the most notorious criminals in the city.  It is so funny.  Mom and dad highly recommend it for some fun and chuckles.

But you know with my humans going out unchaperoned, there is going to be something that they do that makes me shake my piggy head.  Of course, something happened at the theater – snorts.

You see, mom always goes for the tub of popcorn – that’s my mommy!  Daddy always wants a little chocolate.  During the movie mommy tells daddy,  “Your Buncha Crunch just jumped in my popcorn”.   To which daddy replied, “No, your popcorn jumped into the my Buncha Crunch”.

Dad, I hate to tell you this but I think mommy is right.  Your Buncha Crunch jumped in her popcorn.  The proof is in the picture.  But hey guys, you don’t have to fight over this.  Just bring this little piggy home the bucket of delightful corn and box of Buncha Crunch.  I’ll take care of it for you.  🙂  Really, I will.20140515-113520.jpg

Do your humans do silly things like this?

A New Show I’m Watching

So, I’ve started watching this new series on television.  It comes on the Fox channel at 9:00PM on Monday nights.  It’s called… are you ready?  Sleepy Hollow – insert spooky music here.

This past Monday was the first episode.  If you loved the original Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, you will probably love this as well.  This new series is like a modern day version of the fairy tale fantasy.  I had doubts before watching the show but after the first episode – I’m hooked – hooves and all!

This new show has everything – suspense, drama, witchcraft, adventure, thriller and a headless horseman.  Who could ask for anything more?

The show, of course, revolves around a resurrected Headless Horseman, Ichabod Crane and Lieutenant Abbie Mills in 2013 Sleepy Hollow, New York.

As Ichabod Crane, can you imagine waking up to the 21st century when all you remember is 18th century Colonial America?  Technology alone mystifies poor Crane.  There is even some humor in these clips, especially when he gets in a car and starts playing with the windows – up/down/down/up – too funny.

If you get a chance, you must check out this show and see what you think.  We at the Hotel Thompson are hooked on the first episode.  I did hear on the television this morning that there will be some reshows of the pilot tonight.  Check your television guides.

The second episode titled Blood Moon will be on September 23, 2013 at 9:00PM.

Of course, this little piggy has his thoughts on who in the show is bad and who is good already.  I can’t wait to watch future shows to see if I’m right.  Please let me know what you think.  XOXO – Bacon

The Birds – Evil Snort

Mom told me about this movie yesterday.  She said that it was made by a wonderful guy named Alfred Hitchcock in 1963, way beyond mom’s time but she says it’s awesome.  It’s a suspense/horror movie with lots of birds… lots of mean birds.

I’m going to look it up on Netflix to see if I can put it in my movie que to watch one night.  Mom’s says that I might not want to watch it all by myself in my room.  Maybe I can persuade the purr things to come in for a sleep over and movie night.  You know, extend a hoove. Mom would enjoy that.

I know ya’ll, my faithful readers, are not buying the extending of the hoove are you?  You know I just want to scare Mouse Girl in the horror movie – snort LOL.  Ok, I’ll be good.

It’s funny how mom said something about this movie.  I found a hilarious funny picture that had birds in it too.  Dad is always playing Angry Birds on his iPad.  I think it’s hilarious.  Me and mom know the theme music and sound effects by heart now.  So, enjoy this funny picture.  I know I laughed so hard about it.

I love all of those “Angry Birds” sitting around Mr. Hitchcock.  I admit, I didn’t know who the man was but I did recognize the birds.  Mom had to explain the birds to me.

It’s awfully funny though!
