Bashful Hide and Seek

Bashful – he’s a good pebble.  He tries to stay out of trouble.  Sometimes it works – sometimes not so much.  Last night, we were playing hide and seek in the house.  I can’t tell you how many times I walked by the table and saw this napkin.  It never dawned on me one single time that the little fella would be underneath it sleeping.

The only thing that *finally* gave him away was that he had to go to the potty.  If it wasn’t for that, he would still be under the napkin on the table hiding.  And mom/dad, they weren’t much help.  I think dad was actually the one that suggested that great hiding place.  Where’s dad when *I* want to hide, huh?  Perhaps I should hide dad’s remote control and see how he likes to hunt for things for hours at a time – snorts.

Bashful Update

Oh my friends – it was a quick weekend here at the Hotel Thompson.  There were lots of things going on and lots of stuff to get done before the big guy comes on Christmas day.  Mom/dad ran some errands and little Houdini had a vet’s visit – he’s good no worries there.  He just had some yearly shots so he was a little needy.  With all of that said, we had a no electronics kind of weekend.

But I’m here to tell you my friends, I’ve got updates on my Bashful.  You know he is visiting Denny and Reilly from Cowspotdog in Florida.  He is having a BLAST.  OMP – wait until you see some of his antics, pictures and what he is doing and who he is doing it with – squeals!

Who is this glamorous looking woman Bashful is hanging out with?  Look at her markings – it almost looks like she is wearing lace – how beautiful is that my friends?  And those eyes – I can just see her batting those eyes at Bashful – and look at Bashful’s grin!

So who is she?  What are they doing together?  Where exactly are they?  All good questions.  Go check with Denny and Reilly to find out 🙂

Squeals – Guess Who is Home?

Oh Squeals my friends – guess who made it home??  That pet-rock of mine Bashful!

He came knocking on the front door of the Hotel Thompson late Monday afternoon.  I was so excited.  I could hear the little tyke snoring in the box and knew exactly what it was.  Of course, daddy said I had to wait until mommy got home from the worky place to let Bashful out to freedom.  And that was good because the little guy was snoring so sweetly – imagine the trip across the pond.  I would have been passed out too!

But once mommy got home and the box was opened – oh my piggy heavens.  Bashful was non-stop talking about all of his adventures with sweet Fozzie in Australia.  WOW – did he do bunches of cool things.  One of the things was he went up in a hot air balloon and not only soared with the clouds but got a certificate about it as well.  OMP Squeals!!   If you want to read all about Bashful’s travels and adventures while in Australia, a great place to start will be here.

And look at all of the treats Bashful came home with – double squeals.  Me and mom were fighting dad off of the cookies.  They are so delicious!!   And of course, Bashful came home with friends…. but that’s another story for another posting that is coming soon.  Real soon.  Be ready my friends – it’s a stunner!

Guess Who Came Home?!

 Jumping all around and squealing.  Guess who came home yesterday. Go ahead – guess.  Can you guess?  Do you know?  Do you want a hint?  Go ahead guess.  BASHFUL my international rolling stone.  He’s been spending time with my buddy Speedy in the United Kingdom the past couple of months.  He has told all of us some awesome stories of adventures he had with Speedy.  They danced and boogied to the radio.  Played in the garden together.  Met some ponies and some girls ❤  And of course some things that happened in the United Kingdom – stays in the United Kingdom – snorts.

The mailman delivered a box to the steps of the Hotel Thompson and once we opened it, we found a booty of goodies.  Bashful dressed like a pirate.  Pirate coins, notebooks and a sleeping bag!  Can you believe the goodies?!

And you know what?  Bashful came home with a friend – cheers, screams and snorts.  May we present to you Speedy Rock to the left.  Awesome – spectacular – fun – amazing.  Look at the resemblance to Speedy – all the way to the ears to the bushy tail.  OMP (oh my pig!)  We were snorting with delight here.

And the gals – Princess Coralena, Virginia, Rockelle and Koishi were falling all over him and his accent… or was it his eye patch?  I think they are all in ❤ and hey – what’s there not to be in love with, right?

Thanks Speedy for showing my tyke a most excellent adventure.  And I guess that brings up the next question.  Just where in the world will Bashful show up next?  And to those that have signed up on the list to host Bashful, don’t give up.  We are slowly working down the list.  It might take a while, but it will get to you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION RECEIVED

This just in – mom received word a couple of days ago and just NOW told me that Bashful my little international rolling stone has landed at his destination.  Can you believe that mom just told me??!!  She said she forgot.  That mom of mine – what am I going to do with her?  I was getting scared for the little tyke and was giving him until tomorrow before I called out the Coast Guard.

So little Bashful is with his host family and all is well.  AND they are going to post something soon.  Can you wait?  Isn’t this exciting?  I’m so tickled that I’m rolling around on the floor chasing my tail – don’t tell anyone okay.  Let that be our little secret.

You want to know where he is?  You do, don’t you?  Well, my lips are sealed.  I’m waiting for the mysterious destination host family to tell you.

 

And He’s Off –

Well, my little international rolling stone is off again into the blue wide yonder.   Sniff – sniff – cry – cry.

I have so much enjoyed the little tyke being home here at the Hotel Thompson with all of us for the past couple of months.  We had so much going on with Valentine’s Day and family visiting.  Now though, it’s back to the travels of my little star rock Bashful.

Where has he gone?  Where will he show up?  What will he do?  All good questions but I’m not spilling the beans – I don’t care how much you encourage or bribe me – snorticles.

Only my mom who saw him off and the receiving host family know where he will end.  Any guesses though?  Anyone want to take bets that he will find trouble?  🙂  PLOL (Piggy Laughing Out Loud).

 

Bashful is Back Home – YAY!

 Bashful made it back to the Hotel Thompson from Australia!  

We all stayed up really late last night talking about his travels and misadventures.  OMP (oh my pig)!  He had a blast down under.  And like Las Vegas, some things that happened in Australia stay in Australia if you know what I mean – winks winks.

You’re not going to accept that, are you?  You want the juicy details of his wicked time with Bimby while making his short silent movie Rockadile Dundee.  I’m sorry.

I can’t tell you any of the juicy details.  Bashful said that a gentlerock does not talk about his ladies.  aaaww – I raised that little pebble right!

The little international rolling stone came home with some great treasures of his time spent with his host family.  The above left handed picture is Bashful in his suit that he wore to the wedding. What a handsome little guy!  He now refers to that suit as his 007 Rock Bond outfit.  What a riot!  He told me late last night that he wore his suit out one night when he took Bimby out for a date – 🙂

The picture to the right is of Bashful and his Australian outback hat.  What a looker!  And you see that item behind him?  That is a hand painted boomerang from Australia that came home with him.  I’ve already caught him throwing it around the house.  We’ve all learned how to duck really fast with that thing flying about.  And never fear about his cross eyed look in the picture.  I think he was slightly inebriated from the long flight home.  You know, they’ll serve anyone a drink these days in the happy air above.  I guess there is no ‘under age’ in the sky.

This picture to the left is of the other goodies that Bashful came home with that was in his luggage.  Stickers of all different things – Koala bears, snakes and Kangaroos.  Bashful told me that I could have some of them to put in our bedroom – I can’t wait to decorate my board.

And you know, they didn’t forget mom either.  See that fluffy pen in the picture?  It’s a Mickey Mouse pen!  It lights up when you write with it.  Mommy is in love with that pen.  I do believe she took it to the worky place so she can use/look at it every day.

Fozziemom and company was even so nice to send the purr things some treats.  Trust me, those little vultures jumped on that bag like it was crack!

And talking about crack – snorts.  See that can to the left beside the Koala pouch, Bashful is hooked on that stuff!  Mom/dad tried some last night and gave me a small bite.  OMP (oh my pig!).  It is GOOD!  No wonder that little Bashful couldn’t stay out of it.  It’s peppermint glory.

And you’re probably wondering about that Koala pouch.  It is the cutest little thing that zips up.  There was something amazing in that little pouch.  I’m getting too ahead of myself so you’ll have to wait for what it was. I promise to tell you.

And of course, we have to show a picture of the intellectual Bashful with his glasses on and sporting his hat.  Can you believe he went to bed last night wearing that?  And yes, he used his specks when he was reading to us out loud about his adventures in his travel log.

Can you believe that we also had a slide show of his side trip to Sydney?  Oh gracious – it was a hoot.  He visited so many places while down under.  I think we will be hearing about his tales for some time to come.

But, we are talking about the international rolling stone – my Bashful.  He will be home for a couple of more days and then he is off to his next host family and his next adventure.  Where will it be?  Only me and the next host family will know.

May I introduce you to the newest member of the Hotel Thompson.  This is Rockelle from Australia.  She is in this picture wearing Bashful’s Australian hat and wait – what is that?  She is siding up with Bashful and they are a twosome?!  Stop the presses – Bashful came home with a girlfriend?!  And they know how to grow them in Australia.  She has the cutest little accent and look at that purple eyeshadow.  She has so woo’ed the little guy.

And you’re probably wondering about how Princess Coralena must be feeling about this.  Well, let’s just say there’s going to be a rock fight about whose rock Bashful really is.  I can feel it in my bones.  But Bashful, he’s a young tyke.  He needs to experience life right now.  He can always settle down when he hangs up his travel boots, right?

So, to Fozziemom and clan – thank you so much for hosting a great time for the little fellow.  I know he had an awesome time and will always cherish his memories with you in Australia.  You were great.

But the bottom question remains – where will Bashful end up next?

 

Oh Bashful – I Have a Surprise For You

 

For those that do not know, I have a pet 🙂 His name is Bashful and he is my pet rock. He’s a great little tyke, does a lot of field trips and catches on fast. Believe it or not, he can be a little handful at times. He talks a million miles a minute, gets into everything but he’s a good stone. He’s also a quick learner.

Currently, he is across the pond this month to visit our good friend Easy at http://easyweimaraner.wordpress.com/ . They seem to be having a blast. I’m so very proud of him that he’s not gotten into any mischief. Surprised in a way because I know how he can be sometimes as a rolling stone.

Do you know he once ran off in the middle of our local WalMart? It took us some time to find him but we finally did in the frozen food section. He had steamed up the glass so it was hard to see him. They finally saw him though licking a strawberry pie. He said he got hungry. Of course, mom/dad had to buy the pie and that was a good thing because we all benefited from it that night 🙂

While he’s been gone, I’ve been working on a little project for him that he doesn’t know about 🙂 Don’t you just love secrets!? Mom has a friend that has been traveling on a fantastic vacation in Hawaii. He comes home today and he’s bringing me something. I’m not going to give it away yet. All I will say is Pohaku. Isn’t that beautiful? You’ll have to figure that out. But it’s for Bashful and his homecoming trip.

It will be interesting. Don’t you worry little man. I’ll take care of this guest until you get home. We are all excited here at the Hotel Thompson about it. Did I mention that there is *never* a dull moment here? We are always doing something.

Sniff – Sniff – Cry – Cry –

Safe travels my dear Bashful –

This morning was the day. Bashful left for his trip afar. None of us thought it was going to be as emotional as it was. We all woke up this morning and none of us were in a real talkative mood. Bashful was so excited last night that he didn’t go to bed until sometime in the early hours this morning. When I got him up this morning he was tired – but happy and excited.

We all had his favorite for breakfast – Coco Pebbles cereal – and talked about his new adventure. Mom/dad told him to be on his best behavior and that they didn’t want any phone calls or emails that he was misbehaving in any way.

Mom/dad took Bashful to his pediarocktrician yesterday. They gave him a clean bill of health and gave him a shot for motion sickness. I hope that it lasts his entire trip.

I, Bacon and Mouse Girl all said our goodbye’s to the little guy this morning at the house. Mom/dad took him to the airport for his flight. Daddy said that mom totally collapsed and cried like there was a faucet turned on full force. Poor mom – she’s so sentimental like that. She just stood at the window watching the plane load up and take off. She wouldn’t even leave the airport until they couldn’t see the plane anymore. Poor thing – I’ll have to give her extra snuggles tonight.

Thank goodness Bashful got his Passrockport. He needed it this morning going through customs and checking in for his flight. Since he’s under age, the flight attendant said she would take good care of him. He even earned his wings – cool huh on Delta? For his flight meal, he is going to get rockstew. I *know* he will be excited about that. It’s one of his favorites.

The only thing we are not too sure about is the flight movie. Since it’s such a long flight, they are

showing Castaway. This kind of worries me. Let’s just hope that the movie doesn’t cross over into reality. I’m not too sure how Bashful would do stranded on a tropical island. He burns really easy.

So to the host family – you *know* who you are 🙂 He should be arriving in about 6-10 days. It’s a really, REALLY long flight – snorts. I hope you have loads of fun with Bashful and we can’t wait to read about his adventures. Take plenty of pictures and have FUN!
