Last November, mom/dad traveled to Chicago, Illinois. Or should I say, mom planned a trip and told dad absolutely nothing about it until the car came and picked them up at the Hotel Thompson the morning of departure. Mom had already packed everything for their adventure. Why Chicago? Well first up, my Aunt Tina lives there with my cousin Sherlock Bones. Second up, daddy has *always* wanted to go to Ditka’s Chicago. Are you asking yourself what is that? Well Mike Ditka is a former football player, was an awesome coach and a television commentator. He coached the Chicago Bears back in the day which was one of dad’s favorite teams.
In the next couple of weeks, we will be highlighting some of the food that everyone enjoyed during their trip to Ditka’s Chicago.

Doesn’t this dish look mouth watering? We saved one of the coolest things we experienced at the restaurant for last. A lot of times, mom/dad split meals when they go out. This night was no different. Mom/dad decided to split the 16 ounce slow roasted prime rib. This plate comes with burgundy mushrooms (that melted in your mouth), horseradish cream and an au jus. Mom also had the steak added with a horseradish crust. They were expecting to get one giant steak delivered to the table to split. But no. The restaurant was so awesome that they went ahead and ‘split’ the steak in the kitchen and delivered two dishes like the one above, one for mom and one for dad. Wasn’t that awesome?! And the steak was so tender that you didn’t need a knife to even cut it. It was juicy and had the best flavor with the horseradish and mushrooms. Dad said he would give two thumbs up for sure!

What is this March madness that I keep hearing about? I turn on the television and they are talking about it. Dad is talking about it. It’s on the computer. I don’t get it. They talk about March madness and brackets. Brackets? What are brackets?
I know it’s March – is it about nature outside? Is it about coming out of my piggy hibernation from the winter?
Is it about Spring and Summer that relate to warm weather and running? Is that the bracket they are talking about?
Is it about the fresh fruit that I start to get with warmer weather? You know – strawberries, cantaloupes and my favorite watermelon?
I’m confused – will I go mad if I get this bracket?

Is it time to kick back in my chair outside and let the sun touch my belly? Maybe the bracket is making sure that I use suntan lotion so that I don’t burn? I know it’s definitely time to kick these hooves up in the air and start coming out of the cold of winter.
I’ve been so confused about this for days that finally I had a heart to heart with mom this morning. I asked her what this March Madness and bracket thing was. I was kind of getting scared about it.

The backboards that shatter. The free throws. The rebounds. The dribbling. It all comes back to me now.
It’s *THAT* kind of March Madness. That’s such a relief. I thought for a moment it was a disease! Snort.
So, let’s everyone get a little bit of the March Madness and shout for your team! I wonder if they need a smart, slightly spoiled, adventurous pig for a team. With this pot belly I’m kind of awkward in making a dunk but I can be heck on dribbling!

Welcome back my friends to the reveal of the five statements. Which one did you guess was true? Did you pick it right away or did it take some work in thinking about each one? Just what kind of person is my mommy? Let’s see if you got it right.
Statement #01 – Mom got a sport letter and award in Track when she was in high school. Winner-Winner. Mommy actually was the assistant to the track coach in high school for two years and kept the scores for all meets. This is how she gained her letter and award. Snorts – you thought she ran didn’t you? If mom ran, she says she would have two black eyes and two broken knees. Now that is hilarious! AND who was the first person to guess it correctly – my brother Easy. He knows my mommy!
Statement #02 – Mommy loves Cabbage Patch Kids. Really? Mommy despised Cabbage Patch Kids. If you are a true follower, you have read her story about the demise of her *cherished* Cabbage Patch Kid in a fierce game of Cowboys and Indians – snorts with piggy laughter.
Statement #03 – Mom graduated with a C average in high school. C student – oh no. Mommy was an honor graduate – straight A’s. In fact, some would say she was a nerd! The shock of that huh?
Statement #04 – Mom’s first pet she ever had was a snail named Igor. This would have been cool but again no. Mom’s first pet was a dog named Beast.
Statement #05 – Mom and dad met when mom was working her pole at her second job. Now I had to throw this in there. Of course it didn’t happen this way. But once, mom/dad went to a book store when they were dating. Mom wrote a check and the lady asked for her work number. Daddy did tell the lady it was the Cheetah Club (which was a strip joint in Atlanta, Georgia). The lady replied, “Yeah, right. I don’t think anyone with Holly Hobby checks would be a stripper!”. Now *that’s* funny.

It’s adventure time again! Have you missed me and my adventures? I’ve been doing some field work so I’ve been a little out of touch with my friends here. Also, someone put a nasty video out there of a juvenile rolling stone causing some havoc in the store and would you believe some people thought it was little ole innocent me? In my best Urkel voice, “Would I do that?”
With all of that behind me, today I bring you the first part of my field trip to the department store, Target. It was great! There’s lots of similarities between Target and Wally World and then on the other pebble there’s lot of differences. Between the two, I can’t pick which one I liked better.

One of the good things about Target is that they have snacks. Good snacks too. Mom/dad said they had to get me a snack so I wouldn’t stroll off again and eat strawberry pie. They bought me a slushy and popcorn. Oh the joys for this little rolling stone! We all snacked on popcorn and went around the store looking at some of the neatest things.

We started off in the outdoors department. They had tents, patio furniture, chairs and other outdoor kinds of things. I saw this rock and fell slightly in love with it. I think it kind of liked me to because every time I got close to it, it lit up with this bright light. I think it was flirting with me. I might have kind of flirted back a little by making googly eyes to it. When mom/dad wasn’t looking, I passed it my phone number. I do hope she calls!

We then went to the shoe department to look around because you know mom always *needs* a new pair of shoes. I think she has more shoes than Tylenol has pills by now – rolls rock eyes.
While we were there, dad found me a pair of shoes to match his. Aren’t they the cutest? And they fit me perfect. They are kind of cool. The best part is you don’t have to wear socks with them. And that’s a good thing because my feet are awfully short and wearing socks looks ridiculous on me.

And the best part was this food tray. I about fell off the tray I was laughing so hard. I didn’t forget about you Bacon – as you can see Pops – Bacon is my favorite flavor. RLOL (Rock laughing out loud). I wanted to buy this tray but mommy said no. I thought it was the coolest tray ever though. Don’t you?
Well, that’s it for the first part of my Target field trip. I hope you had a good time with me. I’ll post the second part of my trip soon. Every one have a great weekend!

Are you ready for some football? Football is a big thing here at the Hotel Thompson. Dad played big in high school and almost in college if it wasn’t for a knee injury. And well, we all know that I come from a long lineage of football – snort. My great great great grandfather was called Pigskin Lightening and ‘played’ for the Razorbacks. I thought about following in his flight but I’m a one person cuddler, not a team cuddler.

So today we have to ask ourselves, “Self, what team do we want to take flight and win”? Will it be the Seahawks or the Falcons?

Who will I be rooting for? You know it’s going to be my home team, the Falcons. It’s time for them to rise up and bring it like only a falcon can only do! I have to be one of their biggest supsnorters!
