Remember Me Thursday and Light a Candle

Today September 22nd is Remember Me Thursday.

This is a very important date to remember all of the lost animals that didn’t find their forever homes.  Each year, animals are euthanized because they are unwanted.

Today, let’s light a candle and keep it going to remember them.  It takes all of us to do our part in making sure animals get as much love as they need and find their forever parents.  Did you adopt your current anipal into their forever home or did they adopt YOU?  Maybe today, lean a paw at your local shelter and/or make a donation to help.

Hold your babies tight today and say a little prayer my friends.  Continue the light and be their voice!  It takes all of us doing our part.  Thanks my friends!

 

 

 

Spotlight Thursday – Meet Speedy

Spotlight Thursday

Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY.  This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better.  Some of them, you may already know.  We hope that you enjoy this series!

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents?  Daddy petted me in the hutch I was in and Mummy was petting another rex in the same hutch.  That is when Daddy picked me up for a cuddle which was very nice but he seemed sad.  He then passed me to mummy for a cuddle and I knew she was like home.  She smelled of home so I started to tooth purr which she commented on to Daddy. Hehehehe –

 think Mummy fell in love with me in that moment.

What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home?  I knew the moment they came back for me after they put me back in my hutch.  They put me back and left.  I poked my head out of the hutch and said don’t leave me but they left.  But then the most amazing thing happened a little while later.  They came back for me.  Mummy held me giving me a big cuddle and that was the moment I knew I was home safe in her arms,  After that they popped me into a carrier and drove me home.

What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home?  hehehe – that would be when I escaped from the kitchen and found my way into the lounge.  hehehe I bit through Daddy’s Speaker Cables from his surround sound…hehehe oops!

Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why?  Hehehe – that’s easy.  While Daddy like’s to give me cuddles and sneak me extra treats, its Mummy who will do anything for me and spends the most time with me, playing, cuddles.  And she doesn’t shout at me when I’m naughty.   She just laughs and scolds me just a little bit…hehehe.

What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you?  A lot of humans think I am stupid with no character.  They are completely surprised that I love to play and have fun adventures and that I am very friendly. Most humans think that about all rabbits – that we just sit in our hutches not doing very much and just eat food all day long but they are so wrong.  Take us buns out of that environment and give us space to run and play and you get to see how much fun we can be and how affectionate we can be too!

My friend Speedy is having a birthday today!  Speedy is my little buddy.  I really look up to him with the ways he handles life.  Speedy is a male Himalayan Rex rabbit.  He is super cool and not afraid of anything.

If you haven’t met him yet, go meet him.  Tell him Bacon sent you.

If you do know him and haven’t said happy birthday yet, go tell him.

Guess Who Came Home?!

 Jumping all around and squealing.  Guess who came home yesterday. Go ahead – guess.  Can you guess?  Do you know?  Do you want a hint?  Go ahead guess.  BASHFUL my international rolling stone.  He’s been spending time with my buddy Speedy in the United Kingdom the past couple of months.  He has told all of us some awesome stories of adventures he had with Speedy.  They danced and boogied to the radio.  Played in the garden together.  Met some ponies and some girls ❤  And of course some things that happened in the United Kingdom – stays in the United Kingdom – snorts.

The mailman delivered a box to the steps of the Hotel Thompson and once we opened it, we found a booty of goodies.  Bashful dressed like a pirate.  Pirate coins, notebooks and a sleeping bag!  Can you believe the goodies?!

And you know what?  Bashful came home with a friend – cheers, screams and snorts.  May we present to you Speedy Rock to the left.  Awesome – spectacular – fun – amazing.  Look at the resemblance to Speedy – all the way to the ears to the bushy tail.  OMP (oh my pig!)  We were snorting with delight here.

And the gals – Princess Coralena, Virginia, Rockelle and Koishi were falling all over him and his accent… or was it his eye patch?  I think they are all in ❤ and hey – what’s there not to be in love with, right?

Thanks Speedy for showing my tyke a most excellent adventure.  And I guess that brings up the next question.  Just where in the world will Bashful show up next?  And to those that have signed up on the list to host Bashful, don’t give up.  We are slowly working down the list.  It might take a while, but it will get to you.

Spies Like Us – 1st Set of Nominations

OMP (oh my pigs)!  When me and my buddy Fozzie opened up this contest, I don’t think we thought we would get such AWESOME pictures.  We want to say thank you so very much my friends for all of the submissions for Spies Like Us.  All I can say is WOW!  We knew *we* could do it.  We knew *we* could catch our humans in the most strangest of all predicaments.  AND WE WERE RIGHT.  Our fellow anipals – ya’ll did an excellent job.  I mean EXCELLENT.  I’m going to break down the submissions into two days – today and tomorrow  Remember to share this posting on your blog with your friends so they can vote on MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2014.

Submission 1 – Can you guess which one of our friends dressed up like Boy George during their day and strutted their stuff?  Can you?  Submission 1 was submitted by Sherri-Ellen – you know Nylablue’s mommy.  Isn’t this awesome?  I wonder if she sang Karma Chameleon while she was dressed up like Boy George?  Or maybe it was I’ll Tumbe 4 Ya.  Do you remember the name of the band that Boy George was in?  If you said Culture Club – you would be right!  Just like we thing Sherri-Ellen was right on the money dressed up in this outfit.  Way to go my friend!!

Submission 2 –  We know the humans do weird things in their day grooming themselves.  Easy was able to catch his mother with her hair up – literally.  Then mom had Easy’s undivided attention – was it the hair?  Was it the sweet talking to Easy?  Was it the scratching of his neck?  Who knows – but thanks to Easy for snapping this wonderful picture of his human!  Oh, and you are actually wondering what was in her hair?  Per Easy, it was the board rolls that you find inside of toilet paper.  Easy’s mom said that her fur is too long for common hair curlers.  What do you know – maybe that’s all the new style now?  Who would have thought that?

Submission 3 – OMP (oh my pigs!)  Speedy definitely got the scoop on my little tyke – the international rolling stone Bashful.  Speedy said he was absailing.  That rock sure does get into a lot of weird predicaments doesn’t he?  In fact, it kind of looks like he’s bungee jumping.  Snorts – way to go Speedy!

Submission 4 – Do you recognize this human partaking in Gravy Bones?  Note to humans – that’s *our* food.  You can’t have it okay.  Snorts – this submission was from Misaki of his mother getting into his Gravy Bones.  I wonder what she thought of them.  Were the good?  Chewy?

I might to put some of these on mom’s grocery list for the market so I can try some – licks piggy lips.  Awesome photo!

Submission 6 – Oh dear piggy heavens.  I had to submit this one of my strange human daddy.  I don’t know what he was doing in the driveway.  Maybe it was his rendition of John Travolta dancing.  I don’t know.  Shakes piggy head.  He was rocking that orange though wasn’t he?  Maybe he was pointing to something flying in the sky over the Hotel Thompson?  Maybe it was a bird, a plane, or maybe me Super Piggy?  Oops, sorry I digress.  Let me get back on track.

What Has Bashful Been Doing Lately?

Bashful is still visiting my buddy Speedy in the United Kingdom.  He is having the bestest of all time.  He’s been hanging out with Pebbles – Speedy’s pet rock friend.  They are awesome.  And Speedy is still walking his humans on their leash – snorts – that kills me!  I absolutely ❤ it!

Speedy took Bashful back to the Cadover Bridge.  It is so beautiful there!  You gotta check out their story and see the gorgeous pictures.  And while you are there, check out Speedy walking his humans – 🙂

Do You Want to See Something that Will Make YOU Smile?

Oh friends.  I hope you had a fantastic weekend.  We did nothing really.  Well okay.  Mom and dad went on a little field trip that I will post about this afternoon but other than that – nada.  But, this morning I saw a video that will absolutely BLOW your mind.  It will make you oohh and aaww.  We have watched it here at the Hotel Thompson repeatedly.

It’s from my good friend Speedy.  You *have* to jump over to his page and watch the video.  He’s on a leash!  And he likes it!  And yeah, Bashful is in the video too but this time, it’s all about Speedy because he is simply AMAZING!  So, check him out here my friends.
