It’s the Middle of the Year

It’s the middle of the year – hasn’t 2014 just flown by so fast?

It’s time to check those New Years resolutions and see how far you’ve gotten on them and how far you have to go.  I personally like to do this double check around this time of the year.  So let’s see what I have/have not accomplished so far.

My 2014 New Years Resolutions:

  • Take more naps – check.  It’s hard maintaining this beauty – it requires many, MANY naps a day.  I try to get as many in as possible during the day so I can play with mom to keep her active when she gets home from the worky place.
  • Continue to eat healthy – check.  So far so good with eating plenty of fruits and vegetables.  The only problems I have this nowadays is keeping daddy out of my piggy stash – snorts.
  • Maintain this sexy physique – check. Someone has to be the piggy sexy star at the Hotel Thompson!   Daddy is trying but his pot belly is not as adorable as mine – double snorts…. don’t tell him I saw that okay.
  • Become a Super Pig Hero Still working on this one.  I do have Piggy Power when I need/want to run around and get into trouble save the world.
  • Keep mom wrapped around my hooves – check check – this is a full time job! snorts

What about your New Years resolutions.  How far have you come on your list?  Mom/dad are still working on theirs as well.  Some things they have crossed off while others are still sitting there waiting for them.

AND with this being the middle of the year, do you know what that means??

.

It’s only 176 days until Christmas!!

Happy mid year Christmas!!

Happy Mothers Day Moms!!

Today is a wonderful and glorious day – Mother’s Day.  I appreciate my birth mother, Bertha, and I love her very much.  If it wasn’t for her and my dad Champ, I wouldn’t be here, right?  Snorts.  So I’m very thankful for my mother – Happy Mother’s Day mommy Bertha.

I’m also very thankful for my adopted mother.  Mommy Bertha gave me life but my adopted mom gave me a home full of love.

I’m also very thankful for my nana.  If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have my adopted mommy.  See how these things work?

I am so excited to share this date with you my friends and wish you all a wonderful Mother’s Day filled with love and snuggable hugs.

Trivia Knowledge – did you know that the first Mother’s Day was May 10, 1908 in Philadelphia.  That’s good trivia knowledge that I learned from Journalist Rocky the Squirrel.

So from me, Hemi, Mouse Girl, the ‘rock’ clan (Bashful, Manny, Rockelle, Princess Coralena, Benedict Cumberock, Virginia) and Journalist Rocky the Squirrel –

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY – WE LOVE YOU!!

But I *AM* in Bed – Silly Mom

20130321-084323.jpgThis is me and mom’s leg in the picture – snort.  Every night after dinner and dishes, me and mom snuggle on the couch.  It’s our time.  Mom kicks the recliner back and we pull the blankets close to get all comfy and snuggable (you can see my Egyptian cotton sheet up there with us – it’s so silky!).

She pets my back while she catches up on her emails, blogs, Facebook and watches television.  It’s our bonding time.  I keep my snout right on her leg so I know if she moves.  That’s how deep I sleep.

Sometimes I sleep so deep, I actually snore.  I can’t help it.  I know I’m completely safe right there next to mom and she won’t let anything happen to me.

Every night when it’s time to go to bed, me and mom go through the same game.  She starts softly telling me, “Bacon, wake up, it’s time to go to bed”.  Do you know how ironic that is?  Mom – I’m already asleep in bed – snort.  So every night I pretend to be asleep and hard to wake up.  Sounds like a typical kid putting off bedtime doesn’t it?  She’ll keep being persistent like a fly buzzing around your head, “Bacon, it’s time to go to bed young man.”  And, me being pig headed like I am will continue to pretend to be asleep.

Then mom picks up her tone a bit and tells me, “If you don’t go get ready for bed now, you’re going to miss your bedtime story.”  Bedtime story – did someone say bedtime story?  Of course, I immediately wake up to this, jump down and run to my room to get ready for bed.  By the time mom brushes her teeth and comes in my room, me, Bashful and the other rock clan are safely in our bed.  Mom always tucks us in, kisses us both goodnight and reads us a story.  You can’t miss her bedtime stories!

But tonight on the couch after dinner, we’ll go through the same thing all over again.  Why?  Because it’s what me and mom do of course – snort.

How I Got Back on Mom’s Good Side

20130929-143320.jpgJust imagine you are on a date with your spouse and then your cell phone goes off with a text message.  You know by the sound of the ring that it’s from one of your kids.  You go to look at it and WOW – it’s a text from ME – Bacon.  Who could stay mad at this little oinker for long?  Especially when I’m giving you a heads up about free coffee!  Mommy is a sucker for coffee.

After mom and dad’s date they did go to Dunkin Donuts.  Mommy didn’t get the free coffee.  She got the pumpkin white chocolate latte.  She said it was delicious.  I wouldn’t know because she didn’t give me a taste of it… BUT, she did bring me some donut holes. 🙂

So, that is how you get back on mommy’s good list.  She drunk her coffee while I was in her lap getting snuggles.  Everything is back to being good at the Hotel Thompson.

Oh, and what?  Doesn’t every pig have an iPhone?  It’s only the 3G that mom used to have but it still works for these emergency type situations – snorts.

It’s the Middle of the Year

It’s the middle of the year – hasn’t 2013 just flown by so fast?

It’s time to check those New Years resolutions and see how far you’ve gotten on them and how far you have to go.  I personally like to do this double check around this time of the year.  So let’s see what I have/have not accomplished so far.

My 2013 New Years Resolutions:

  • Take more naps – check.  As you can see with Hemi hi-jacking my computer this weekend, this is working.
  • Continue to eat healthy – check.  It’s hard but it’s a work in progress
  • Maintain this sexy physique – check. Someone has to be the piggy sexy star at the Hotel Thompson!
  • Become a Super Pig Hero still working on this one.  I need a magic CAPE bad… in red… with Power Pig written on the back.
  • Overcome my anti-nature stance – still working on this one.  I’m in therapy and almost to the end of it so hopefully I can mark this off soon.
  • Keep mom wrapped around my hooves – check check – this is a full time job! snorts

What about your New Years resolutions.  How far have you come on your list?  Mom/dad are still working on theirs as well.  Some things they have crossed off while others are still sitting there waiting for them.

Hanging – I’m Just Hanging

Saturdays are the best days at the Hotel Thompson. Mom is off of the worky place and she is home. I follow her around the house like a little puppy dog just wagging my tail. I sit in the kitchen and watch her cook – that’s one of my favorite things. You ask why? I’m glad you asked. Because she throws me little pieces of food – whatever she is preparing. It can be crackers, croutons, vegetables, salad mix, fruit – whatever she is working with for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Also Saturdays mean Saturday night family movie night. We pick a movie, pop popcorn and watch the movie together. We all take turns picking a flick. And, I get to stay up as late as I want with mom. This is a special treat since usually my bedtime during the week is pretty routine.

20130312-101633.jpg

Saturdays also mean chores. Sigh – even I have chores but at least mom helps so they go quickly. I have to help in cleaning my room and taking all of my laundry to the wash room. Afterwards, I have to help with folding which is kind of fun because well you know I have hooves not fingers. Snort – so usually I end up rolling around in the warm towels and mom laughs. I have to also help in picking up all of my

toys in the house and putting them in my piggy toy box. Then we steam mop my bedroom floor. I can’t help with that but I like to watch 🙂

Afterwards, it’s mommy piggy snuggle time on the sofa. I stretch out and mommy rubs my back and belly as she writes and answers mail until movie time.

I hope your Saturday is as fun as mine! XOXO – Bacon

Friday Love

This morning I just didn’t want to get out of bed.  I was all snuggled, comfortable and warm.  I even fell down on my job – “I” didn’t go off crying for my breakfast thus mom didn’t wake up at our usual time.  She had to come wake me up to eat which is very odd and doesn’t happen very often.  Mom told me that she hates it when I don’t wake her up.  Not that she’s mad because I didn’t get ‘her’ up but that it scares her when I don’t cry for breakfast.  She’s always afraid something might have happened to me in the middle of the night.  Sweet huh?

She told me that we just had today to get through and then we would have snuggles this weekend.  I’m so glad because it’s been a long week here at the Hotel Thompson keeping dad and the purr things in line.  I so need a break.  I was all excited about this weekend until mom said the B word.  You know the B word – bath.  I’m not opposed.  I love a good bath once I’m in the water.  It’s just getting in the bath that gets me a little fussy.  Mom has to pick me up and put me in the tub and well my pot belly gets in the way sometimes.  Don’t worry, as you’ve seen I can jump out.  It’s just the jumping in part that bothers me.  And lately when mom gives me a bath in the tub, she throws in treats like carrots, celery or cheerios.  Hey, where there is food, I am so there!

I hope everyone has a fantastically long weekend.  Stay warm and loved –

XOXO – Bacon
