Any Suggestions My Friends?

I’ve been patient my friends this week.  I’ve tried to reason with mom/dad about this Summer Camp thing but it’s on.  I’ve settled with that. Mom wants me to know life as a regular pig – something should would be upset with if I never knew.  I’m okay with that.

While mom packed my bags, I supervised from my bed watching.  She really does have my best interests at heart.  I’m bringing my Egyptian cotton sheet for my bed.  I’m used to sleeping with that and it’s comfort.  She also packed my framed picture of me and her that I usually have on my bedside in my bedroom.  We can bring one electronic item – no cell phones.  I’m packing my laptop so I can still write from Summer Camp.  We can only use it at night time – not during the day when we have activities.  She packed me a care box with sunscreen – did you know that piggies can get sunburned if we stay in the sun too long?  We can.  She also packed some of my favorite snacks like my Gold Fish, Animal Crackers and some of my favorite grape flavored bottled water.

Can you think of anything else I might need?

Renovation Reveal Party!

Welcome to the Renovation Reveal Party for the Hotel Thompson or as my cousin called it the Casa Thompson!  My buddy Fozzie is going to co-host this party.  To get things started, please enjoy some wine, soda and some snacks.  Then sit back for the reveal and let us know what you think.  If you have questions, ask.  Mingle and have fun my dear friends!!

The following food was brought by Kali and Shoko of Canadian Cats.  Everyone be sure to try some of these Canadian delicacies.  I’m licking my lips now and fixing to jump in – YUMMO!

Poutine – French fries with gravy and cheese – how could you go wrong with this?  Beaver Tails – Now Beatrice and Billy were not harmed in the making of this sweet treat – 🙂  Beaver Tails are pastries shaped like beaver tails with chocolate and banana or chocolate and M&M’s.  Personally this little porker NEEDS one with banana and chocolate.  Nanaimo Bars – These are named after a city in Vancouver Island.  They have three layers of deliciousness – coconut, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate and custard.

Okay my friends – do you remember the ‘before’ pictures?  Let me remind you what they looked like okay.

The front room was a cluttered mess as well as the kitchen area.  It was definitely time to ‘grow up’ and get a new look.  Below are now the ‘after’ pictures.

The entry way into the Casa Thompson.  The new sofa.  The new chaise – ❤

 **SPECIAL THANKS**

Thanks to my friend Jean with Canadian Cats (Shoko and Kali) for the beautiful virtual potted plant for the new Casa Thompson.  It’s beautiful!  And thank you my friends for bringing food to the party – I’m still licking my lips!  And many thanks for the long phone calls, listening to me whine while drinking my wine 🙂

Thanks to my brother Easy and his mom for listening to my mom’s troubled woes during the ordeal – snorts – there were a LOT.  Your emails kept her sane… well okay as sane as she could be.

Thanks for my great co-host and partner in crime Fozzie.  You mean the world to us my sweet dear friend.  The phone calls, the emails, the rants and raves.

Much love to all of YOU and to those that listened to the endless ramblings here in blogville about the renovation.  We were so glad that we could share everything with all of you my dear friends!!

Let’s Play a Game Shall We?

IMG_1703Okay my friends – Let’s Play a Game – a fun game.  Let our imagination’s work overtime to see what we can come up with on this subject.

If you had to be trapped in a television show for a month – which show would you choose?

Personally, I would choose Green Acres.  I think I could have an awesome time with Arnold.

Houdini would like to choose Scooby Doo.  He mumbled something about scooby snacks and that he would like to give Scrappy Doo a run for his money.

Hemi would like to join the ranks of Puss in Boots in the Shrek movie and perhaps teach them some things – snorts (sounds just like Hemi!)

Mouse Girl would like to hang out with Binx in Hocus Pocus.  That way she can actually talk to people and let them know what she thinks.  Also I think she has the hots for Binx – I’m just saying – snorts!

Daddy would like to hang out with any James Bond movie ever – he loves all of those shows and thinks he’s a bit of Bond character – snorts.

Mom would like to hang out in the movie Castaway.  (1) perhaps she could get some rest and (2) perhaps she could lose some weight – double win huh?

My Afternoon Snack

Here in the south we have traditions. You know like sweet tea, sweet potato pie, anything fried and football. While watching television, you need supplies. Drinks and snacks are always handy. One of our favorites here are something that I love so very much. If I’m lucky, mom and dad will help me out. Sometimes these hooves are not made for things like shelling boiled nuts. Have you ever had these? Mom and dad found a guy who runs a stand and boils these delectable little morsels. They sell them to you in a bag that keeps them hot. So very tasty. I thought I would share this picture. You’re welcome.

Doggy Daycare

IMG_0921.JPG

Rolls piggy eyes now.   Yep – you read it right – doggy daycare.  Little Man Houdini has went to doggy daycare today at Nana’s.  Can you believe that?  Does it sound insane?  What’s even more funny you might ask?  I think the little tyke was looking forward to going to Nana’s.

But he’s not just going to Nana’s to hang out for doggy daycare.  Oh no.  Nana is having the groomer come out today to her house to groom her dog as well as give Houdini his first groom.  WOW – does that not show you how fast the little guy is growing up?  His first official spa day.  Shakes piggy head.

Here is his before picture to the left.  I’ll have to take one of his after when he gets back home tonight.  He is staying the entire day at Nana’s.  He may be excited to be at Nana’s but I’ll tell you the truth.  Me and dad are glad to have the Hotel Thompson to ourselves for some manly bonding time.  Bring on the football and snacks!

Five Fact Friday –

Happy Friday my friends – we made it another week!!  YAY.  Let’s party!  Let’s eat!  Let’s play!  Let’s cuddle!  I hope you have a fantastic weekend doing what you want to do.  Whatever it is, be the best you can be at it sweet friends!  And here are five more facts about me that maybe you didn’t know 🙂

  1. One time, we had our neighbor over from next door.  When we have company, it means they are there to see me.  What?  When you have company, aren’t they there to see you?  Snorts – I thought so.  Also this means that I have to show off.  So I was running around the front room and thought I would sneak behind the sofa.  Mommy doesn’t like it when I go behind the sofa so she had placed a pillow at the entrance to block me off.  I wasn’t going to let a little pillow stop me from performing so I tried to jump the pillow to get behind the couch.  It didn’t work out so well.  This darn pot belly got me stuck.  All you can see was my fanny in the air and my feet peddling but not touching anything but air.  Mommy had to safe me.  It was so embarrassing.  Totally.
  2. The first time the pizza guy delivered to the Hotel Thompson, he almost peed on himself.  I answered the door with mom and snorted.  Let’s just say he wasn’t expecting a piggy to answer the door.  Now they know our address as the “pig house” and bring me extra food when mom orders.  It’s kind of fun.  Some of the carriers have had their pictures taken with me.  Hey, it’s a win-win situation.  They get a picture taken with their favorite piggy and I get leftovers 🙂  Who could ask for anything more?  But I will tell you.  Daddy is jealous – snorts.
  3. The mailman knows me now.  He delivered mail addressed to Bacon Thompson for a long time and finally got the nerve to ask was that really my mom’s sons name.  She said yes and asked if he wanted to meet me when he delivered a package to the door.  We are now on a first name basis.  How many mailmen can say they deliver mail to a real pig every day?
  4. I love football season.  Heck, some could say I love football.  First off, it’s in the fall and the weather is cooler.  Second off, this is dad’s favorite time of the year.  Dad watching football means snacks in front of the television.  Snacks in front of the television means daddy shares with me.  Cause mom has a steadfast rule here at the Hotel Thompson.  “Don’t eat in front of the pig unless you plan on sharing with the pig.”  With that in mind, are you ready for some football?
  5. The one thing that mom absolutely can’t stand that I do?  Did you know that there is one thing?  It’s really bad too.  When I get overly excited – like when she is popping popcorn on the stove for us – I start walking around her feet.  That’s not bad because the purr things do that too.  The bad part is that sometimes I step on her toes.  With my hooves.  That is very painful.  It’s like stepping barefoot on a thousand Lego’s all concentrated on your toes.  Ouch.  Sorry mom – my bad.  I just get excited.

There you go.  I hope you learned something new about me today.  Have an awesome Friday and weekend my friends.  Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do – snorts!

The Great Pig Escape

Insert the theme music to Mission Impossible.  Insert the Bond music.  Insert any kind of secret pig music you can think of – snorts.  I’ve thought long and hard about ‘The Great Pig Escape’.  Let me explain and tell you the plan.

Nana lives TEN houses up from the Hotel Thompson.  Nana *always* gives me treats and LOTS of them.  I took an aerial view of my hood – don’t ask how cause I’m still dizzy from it.  I can wait until mom tucks me in for the night.  I can wait until I hear daddy snoring.  I can then sneak out of the Hotel Thompson at night and blend in to the outside.  I can take the pink arrowed path up to Nana’s and ring her doorbell. Of course she will let me in.  I mean it’s only dark, she can’t see me through the peep hole but if I snort she’ll recognize me.  I can get my share of treats and be back home in bed before mom and dad know I’m PMIA (Piggy Missing in Action).

I don’t need a costume.  With my black fur, I can blend into the night and be one with my ninja skills.  I can take the road therefore my hooves don’t have to touch grass.  I can wear my fanny pack and put my house key in it as well as other snacks that Nana sends me back home with.

What could possibly go wrong?

Apple Delights

 20140112-010255.jpg

Take a close look at this box of Little Debbie Apple Delights.  Mom brought them home from the market this morning.  See anything that looks familiar with the front of the box?  I had to point it out to mommy.  Doesn’t the “Apple Delights” look very similar to my snout?  Exactly!

Little Debbie, if you are reading and listening, I love me some Apple Delights.

On the Road with Bashful!

It’s adventure time again!  Have you missed me and my adventures?  I’ve been doing some field work so I’ve been a little out of touch with my friends here.  Also, someone put a nasty video out there of a juvenile rolling stone causing some havoc in the store and would you believe some people thought it was little ole innocent me?  In my best Urkel voice, “Would I do that?”

With all of that behind me, today I bring you the first part of my field trip to the department store, Target.  It was great!  There’s lots of similarities between Target and Wally World and then on the other pebble there’s lot of differences.  Between the two, I can’t pick which one I liked better.

20130531-234730.jpg

One of the good things about Target is that they have snacks.  Good snacks too.  Mom/dad said they had to get me a snack so I wouldn’t stroll off again and eat strawberry pie.  They bought me a slushy and popcorn.  Oh the joys for this little rolling stone!  We all snacked on popcorn and went around the store looking at some of the neatest things.

 20130531-234610.jpg

We started off in the outdoors department.   They had tents, patio furniture, chairs and other outdoor kinds of things.  I saw this rock and fell slightly in love with it.  I think it kind of liked me to because every time I got close to it, it lit up with this bright light.  I think it was flirting with me.  I might have kind of flirted back a little by making googly eyes to it.  When mom/dad wasn’t looking, I passed it my phone number.  I do hope she calls!

20130531-234556.jpg

We then went to the shoe department to look around because you know mom always *needs* a new pair of shoes.  I think she has more shoes than Tylenol has pills by now – rolls rock eyes.

While we were there, dad found me a pair of shoes to match his.  Aren’t they the cutest?  And they fit me perfect.  They are kind of cool.  The best part is you don’t have to wear socks with them.  And that’s a good thing because my feet are awfully short and wearing socks looks ridiculous on me.

20130531-234546.jpg

And the best part was this food tray.  I about fell off the tray I was laughing so hard.  I didn’t forget about you Bacon – as you can see Pops – Bacon is my favorite flavor.  RLOL (Rock laughing out loud).  I wanted to buy this tray but mommy said no.  I thought it was the coolest tray ever though.  Don’t you?

Well, that’s it for the first part of my Target field trip.  I hope you had a good time with me.  I’ll post the second part of my trip soon.  Every one have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!!

We made it through another week – what a wonderful feeling!  Today is a good day to have a good day – remember that as you venture into this Friday.

I hope everyone has some wonderful plans for the weekend.  Weekends at the Hotel Thompson means that mom is home from the worky place which means extra snuggles for me.  I so can’t wait.  Even though it was a short week here with the holiday, it seemed like it took forever for Friday to get here!

Mom/dad are going to the store tomorrow so I can’t wait to see what kind of wonderful new foods they bring home for me to try.

Whatever your plans are, have a safe and happy weekend!
