Choices – Choices – Choices

Monday brings us a lot of choices in life.  It’s the first day of the work week and it starts the ‘feel’ and groove of the new week.  It’s another week to start over and fresh.  It’s also a great night for television which leads us to choices – choices and more choices.  And tonight, we have a dilemma at the Hotel Thompson.

Choice A –

Being Human airs on the SyFy channel.  Great show. This show is going on the fourth season and we’ve watched every episode.  It’s good.  There’s Aidan Waite (a vampire), Sally Malik (a ghost), Josh Levison and Nora Sergeant (werewolves).  They all live together and their lives have all intertwined with each other through friendship and surviving their individual ‘characteristics’ that they bring to the show.  Season 3 ended with a blast in the title “Ruh Roh”.  We have a loose end, Kenny, that can still come back.  Liam is gone – so there goes the pure breeds.  Sally is now in what should we say – purgatory – with Donna.  Josh is again a wolf but there’s some connection to Donna.  And, in the last shot of this episode, we see someone that looks like Suzanna (Aidan’s wife) appearing on screen.  WTP (What the pig)!?  Exciting – totally exciting this fourth season is going to be.

.

Choice B –

Sleepy Hollow airs on the Fox network tonight. This is the first season for this show and tonight is the season finale – two hours.  Hopefully tonight will tie up some loose ends.  What happened to Ichabob’s son? How does Abbie play into everything?  The show is actually broken into two shows – hour one is titled The Indispensable Man and hour two is titled Bad Blood.  Sacrifices are made and loyalties are tested – that’s what I’m reading about that should happen.  How in the world could we miss this??

.

So choices – choices – choices.  They both come on at the same time.  I don’t have a DVR.  I have to pick one over the other which is so hard.  And, I don’t want to flip back and forth – I would definitely miss something.  You gotta help me out.  What’s a little piggy to do?  Run back and forth from the living room to my bedroom trying to watch both?  I need some help my friends.  What will YOU be watching?

Gifts from Sleepy Hollow – Oh My!

20131028-215017.jpg

Oh my! This little oinker has been excited – I mean full of excitement. I’ve been watching the television series Sleepy Hollow faithfully every week. It’s an awesome show! My friend Lori Fontanes at http://whattheducks.com/ posted that she was going to Sleepy Hollow in New York a while back. Of course, my ears and tail perked up – I wanted to go! Of course, with everything going on at the Hotel Thompson, there was no way. So Lori sent me something.

First I have to add that I am so sorry in taking time in saying thank you publicly. I did send you an email but I wanted to have the time to do a proper thank you in my blog my friend. With my 31 Days of Spook, mom/dad’s vacation and finding a pig sitter, let’s just say things at the Hotel Thompson have been a little chaos. Snorts – a little. That’s like saying it’s a little dark outside. Okay I admit it. It’s been CRAZY around here!.

.

You just don’t know how excited this little oinker was when he received an UPS envelope at the door. In fact, the UPS guy – Charlie – knew it was for me. I was at the door and just kept shaking my little tail so fast. He even bent over petted my head and told me it was for me. How exciting!

I begged and begged and finally the envelope was opened – WOW! There were beautiful post cards with Sleepy Hollow, a map of Sleepy Hollow and a collectors pin with the Legend of Sleepy Hollow on it. I can actually look at the map now and recognize some of the streets – this is so exciting!.

Mom took everything and hung up in my bedroom on my wall. I just love it! In fact a couple of days after I received this package, I actually got a sent postcard from Lori at Sleepy Hollow. I let mommy take that one to her worky place to hang on her corkboard with my picture 🙂 See, I share.

Lori, I can’t thank you enough my friend. I have been so excited looking at my map and now when I watch Sleepy Hollow on television, it seems so real to this little oinker! Thanks!! – I’m sending you loads of hogs and snout kisses!

Snorts – I also have to share a snort with you. Mommy was looking at the map and saw an advertisement for a restaurant. You know my mom/dad – the foodies – snorts. Mom got all excited about one place that was called “Build a Gut” sandwich shop. OMP (oh my pig!) We rolled around laughing at that for the longest time. I already have a gut to build – my pot belly – snorts. It was too funny… and my kind of restaurant!

A New Show I’m Watching

So, I’ve started watching this new series on television.  It comes on the Fox channel at 9:00PM on Monday nights.  It’s called… are you ready?  Sleepy Hollow – insert spooky music here.

This past Monday was the first episode.  If you loved the original Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, you will probably love this as well.  This new series is like a modern day version of the fairy tale fantasy.  I had doubts before watching the show but after the first episode – I’m hooked – hooves and all!

This new show has everything – suspense, drama, witchcraft, adventure, thriller and a headless horseman.  Who could ask for anything more?

The show, of course, revolves around a resurrected Headless Horseman, Ichabod Crane and Lieutenant Abbie Mills in 2013 Sleepy Hollow, New York.

As Ichabod Crane, can you imagine waking up to the 21st century when all you remember is 18th century Colonial America?  Technology alone mystifies poor Crane.  There is even some humor in these clips, especially when he gets in a car and starts playing with the windows – up/down/down/up – too funny.

If you get a chance, you must check out this show and see what you think.  We at the Hotel Thompson are hooked on the first episode.  I did hear on the television this morning that there will be some reshows of the pilot tonight.  Check your television guides.

The second episode titled Blood Moon will be on September 23, 2013 at 9:00PM.

Of course, this little piggy has his thoughts on who in the show is bad and who is good already.  I can’t wait to watch future shows to see if I’m right.  Please let me know what you think.  XOXO – Bacon
