Barks! Do you ever play hide and go seek with your humans? I love that game! One day this week, mom came home from the worky place and I wasn’t in my usual position guarding the front door via the top of the chaise. It worried mom so she called my name. I didn’t come. So mom then went into immediate worry mode and went to find me. I was curled up under mom’s blanket in the big bed. I was just so tired from guarding the house that the time got away from me. That and of course I was warm and toasty from being under the blankets. Of course she had to pick me up and cuddle me while she walked around the house. Hey, maybe I should ‘hide’ like this more often… you think?
To say that us animals control and walk all over the humans here at the Hotel Thompson is kind of an understatement. Over the weekend, we all snuggled into the king size Select Comfort bed. Hemi slept ‘with’ daddy. Their setting is 100 – ha! Me, Houdini and mom kind of like it a little softer. Our setting is a 50. You gotta love the Select Comfort!
Notice Hemi’s position on TOP of daddy. This is how he beds down. Personally I think Hemi believes that daddy is his mattress. He sleeps like this all of the time. He often will reach his paw out and touch daddy on the face. Sometimes, he will drift over for some mommy loving but we all know that Hemi is daddy’s little boy just like I’m mommy’s boy. Humans are not the only ones that pick favorites – us animals do as well. But to us, it’s a little different. We know who we can wrap around our hooves and paws – 🙂 Would we do that?
And you didn’t think that Hemi sleeps like this? Just check out this bottom picture. The proof is in the picture. He’s actually comfortable. Touching dad’s face, his eyes closed and dreaming of chasing Journalist Rocky the Squirrel in the backyard.
But I have to ask you this – look at that paw?! Do you understand what I mean now when I tell you it hurts when he slaps this little oinker on the fanny? Piggy snorting with laughter!

Have you ever wondered what I look like when I’m sleeping? I know that’s probably the highlight of your day. You going on with your day-to-day activities and then it hits you – BOOM!. I wonder how that Bacon sleeps – snorts. You can admit it. I won’t tell anyone. Well, I thought I would solve that curiosity of yours. Mom took this video of me doing what I do best – sleeping on the couch with her while we were suppose to be watching television.
What was I dreaming about? Was I dreaming of my beloved – my sweet purr thing Nylablue? Was I dreaming of playing with my unicorn and Bigfoot in my magical backyard? Was I dreaming of running in fields of daisies? Was I dreaming of food? I’ll never tell – snorts – a pig has to have some secrets, right?
And heads up – don’t call the peeps from Finding Bigfoot just yet – those are mom’s Sasquatch toes in the video – snorts. Enjoy my dear friends!
I’m not saying that marriage is bad or anything but sometimes arrgghh. You see this is the missus on top of me. She fell asleep while sunning herself. There is no way I’m moving to wake her up. It’s really sweet in a way my friend. Sure after a while you have no feelings in your legs and your nails feel like they are going to be ripped off, but at least you have your significant other. I’m so sorry little guy. Bashful saw Spongebob at Tybee last year because they were doing a movie on the island. I think afterwards he went back home to Hawaii. But I say, keep looking cause you never know where he might wash up on shore. As far as your butt, it looks just fine. I only wish mine was that cute!

Mom *IS* a superhero. Daddy took this picture of us sleeping together and I just found the picture. I’m in there. You can’t see me but I’m there. I’m under her ‘cape’ with her staying warm and sleeping. We were actually taking a power nap as I like to call them. We were both dragging our tails from this past week. A little snuggle sleep time is great – I highly recommend it with your human 🙂
So I have to ask mom, “Where’s *my* super hero outfit?” It’s gotta be out there. Maybe I’m getting one from Santa this year? hhhmm – maybe I need to start my list today, right now, so that I can get it out before Thanksgiving. I’m excited now – my tail is wagging non-stop. Gotta run my friends. I’ve got some lists to make. What are you going to ask for from Santa this year?
