This is me friends from last weekend. I was worn out. Not from running, playing or chasing Hemi or Bacon. Nope not anything fun at all. I had just gotten back home from the three lettered bad place – V.E.T. Before I go further, let me discuss something with you humans. Us anipals know how to spell. You don’t have to spell V.E.T. We know that is the place that we all despise. I mean really. Buy us a drink first. Get to know us if you will before you violate our captains quarters. I’m just saying and I think I speak for everyone on that private matter. So on this date, I was visiting our vet for my yearly shots. How those yearly shots get here so fast! Being a Yorkshire Terrier, I can admit that our breed is a little… how should I say it….nervous about these things. Yeah, that’s the perfect word. So before I get my shots and the doctor feels me up, the staff usually gives me a little Benadryl to cut the edge to calm my inner Yorkie down. So there I was one shot of Benadryl in my rump and I am chilling in my dad’s arms. And might I add, I didn’t bark, whimper and growl at that shot. I was a good boy. So there I am chilling and the lady doctor finally comes in. Mom/dad and the doctor are talking and the doctor tells daddy she is going to take me away from him for a couple of moments. Now comes the good part. As the doctor reaches out to get me, daddy barks and growls at her! Seriously – the dude growled and barked!! Rolls with puppy laughter. For an older lady, the doctor sure did jump pretty high. I was greatly impressed. Of course mom fussed at daddy. I just laughed and got excited for a few minutes…. that is until I saw the doctor going towards my captains quarters. I ended up getting two more shots – again with no barking, growling or whimpering. I was a good pooch mom said. So good that I got to go by the pet store on the way home to pick out a new toy. Daddy on the other hand didn’t get a toy because of his growling/barking.
Barks! Happy Friday friends. Hope you have been having an awesome week so far. It’s down hill from here – I can see the light of the weekend. Hopefully this weekend I can rest and relax with mom. Last weekend, I went for my yearly wellness check. This is me and my doc, Dr. Waggoner. He’s a pretty cool guy for sure. He said I was in good health and my weight was great – isn’t that what we all want to hear? In fact, my weight was actually down a little from last year. Dad was worried because someone has been giving a few extra treats here/there. So no worries daddy – bring me some more treats – barks!
Mom said I was her sweet little trooper today. I got three shots and not one single time did I whimper or cry. See, I was a big boy ❤ And I don’t have to go back for another year – now *that* is awesome.
Now, I leave you with Jokes with Daddy – I know you can’t wait for that. Have a great weekend dear friends.
Hello my sweet friends. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I know we did here at the Hotel Thompson. Heck, it was just plain awesome having mom home from the worky place. Did we eat too much here? Barks! Nah – do you believe that? It was like an all day food paradise. We had a blast!
And today – what do we have planned for today? Aaww – I have plans for me – for Petsmart. All of those toys – All of that food – All of those treats.
I think I can get mom to go… I think. I’ve left so many notes laying around the Hotel Thompson. I even hid all of my food and clothes to make her think that I have nothing left. That way, she thinks I need everything STAT.
And the other anipals, they gave me their lists of what they want and need. So, I’m good. I think they are going to persuade mom/dad too of a much needed trip to our toy store… I mean Petsmart. Wish us luck my friends.
Oh and to keep you held over, mom/dad did buy me a toy a couple of weeks ago. Oh my dog!! Mom says that I might love that toy a little much. What do you think?
Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well. Happy weekend!
HA – BARKS! Mommy said that this was the cutest tail that she has even seen – barks with puppy laughter. Sorry Bacon and daddy – I gotta cute butt – what can I say?! Okay I have to admit that in this picture, daddy had my upmost attention. You can tell by the way I’m standing – the position of my cute tail and my one ear standing up. Daddy was actually giving me a treat. Just ignore dad’s holey shirt – barks! Mommy says that his around the house shirt only. And you know, this pooch will take as many and any kind of treats he can get.
And Bacon take notice of my t-shirt. HA! I know – I know. I probably should not have gotten it but it was so darn cute. And I gotta pick on my bro – if I don’t, who will, right? Okay maybe Hemi will by slapping him on his hiney with his huge paw – now *that* is something I never get tired of watching. Talk about amusement here around the Hotel Thompson.
And today is an awesome day my friends. Do you know what today is? I mean more than just being the obvious Friday? Today is the last day at work for my mom. She starts her holiday when she leaves work today. YES – DO A LITTLE DANCE – HAPPY DANCE. Nine entire days with having mommy at the Hotel Thompson. I’m so excited I may wee myself!
Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well. Happy weekend!
WHO do I need to talk to my friends? This weather is horrible. It has been raining so much that I’m not sure which of us is more done with, me, mom, dad or Bacon. And to top it off, it’s cold. Not freezing cold but chilly willy for this little camper. I’ll tell you a secret of how cold it is – come closer – some days I don’t even get out of my onesie – that’s how cold it is. Can you imagine?!
And one night this week, mom came home from the worky place and was cold and tired. After she put on her onsie, she cuddled up on her chaise to relax. I drug my lobster bed all the way from my bedroom to the fireplace. Then I jumped on the chaise with mom to watch the fire. She laughed cause she was like all of that work and I’m going to sit with mom now? Nah, I’m a smart doggie. I was letting the fire from the fireplace take the chill off my bed and make it all nice and toasty for me. See, who’s the smart one now huh? After a few minutes, I went and got in that toasty bed. I was so snug and warm!
Hopefully, it’s suppose to be a pretty weekend here – cold but no rain – so maybe I can go out with mom/dad for a ride. I feel a field trip to the local pet store coming on for me. I haven’t destroyed any pillows in a while – barks!
Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well. Happy weekend!
Barks my friends! Another week gone and tomorrow is the BIG day – HALLOWEEN! We can’t wait. We are going to celebrate the way mom did when growing up. We are all going to bundle up in the big bed with popcorn and watch scary movies. I think we are all excited just to be together. I’m sure we will all be snoring before the first show ends – barks!
But I did dress up in my costume. Our local pet store had a dress up party and I went last night. It was so much fun! I got to strut myself around in my Captain America outfit and be a Super Hero for a while. They had puppy treats and treat bags for anipals that I got to bring home. Score one for the little puppy huh? This is a picture that mom took of me in my outfit. If you look closely, I’m smiling and you can see my teeth. Dad says I’m Captain America but mom says with those two front teeth showing, I could be VAMPIRE Captain America – BARKS! Mom/dad say we have lots of errands to do this weekend. One of those errands they say I have to go with them. The way they said it, it didn’t sound good. I’m thinking this weekend might be the V.E.T. thing they keep spelling out around me. They don’t understand that us anipals know these key important words that they like to spell. I’m hoping I’m wrong about the V.E.T. but the way daddy keeps saying it with a grin in his voice, I don’t think so. I’ll keep you posted.
And my friends, I have a special treat for you today. All of us anipals and even the rock clan have been working on a project to help end 31 Days of Spook. We put together a little something and we hope that you enjoy it my friends.
Barks! Well friends there was a lot going on here at the Hotel Thompson this week. Let me run them down for you –
First – mom weighed in last weekend. She is down a whopping 12 pounds! She weighs in again tomorrow. I’m hoping that the scales are still going in the right direction for her – DOWN. Isn’t that awesome? And she hasn’t lost her temper and beat dad up for some chocolate yet. That’s a lot in itself – barks!
Second – I have my monthly groomers appointment tomorrow. I’m excited on one paw but upset on the other paw. You see, mom wants me to be all pretty and everything – that’s a given. But she also wants me pretty because next weekend is the dreaded yearly shots. Can you believe it’s been a year already? You know what the vets visit means? I better get extra treats because I’m going to be violated. That’s what that means. Pouts.
Third – Bacon has been really pounding his keyboard on his laptop this month in getting his 31 Days of Spook out. We all hope that you are really enjoying his blog postings. He has worked hard on them. The other night – he even scared himself. It was hilarious! And I’m not sure if you have noticed, but me and the pig have a journal on line now that we are keeping. Thanks to our good friends Easy and his Staff, they got us started here. We hope that you visit it and read about the inside makings at the Hotel Thompson.
And lastly, I got in trouble this week here at the Hotel Thompson. Can you believe that? Me in trouble? You see, I was sleeping with mommy on her chaise. Mouse Girl climbed up on daddy and wanted some loving. Let’s just say it didn’t go well from there. But that Bacon – he videotaped it all. Busted I was! Hope you enjoy the video. I guess mom was right to put my t-shirt on that day that said, “It’s all about ME!”
Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well. Happy weekend!
Okay my friends – can you say FIELD TRIP? I spoke to daddy over the weekend and told him that we needed to go on a field trip for the little guy and buy him some of his very own toys. Not that I mind sharing – I don’t. But I want him to have some things that are just his own. You can relate, right?
So me and dad went to our local Petsmart and I helped him pick out some cherished toys for the tyke. I took a picture to share and it’s to the left. Look familiar – snorts. Of course, all of them have some type of ‘teething’ help for him. He seems to be going through the puppy stage of everything needs to be nibbled. That includes: fingers, toes, hooves, paws, ME – snorts. Thus, he needed some help in that department. I think he really likes his new toys we got him.
.
He played hard with all of them. Can you guess which one is his favorite so far? Yep, it would be teething piggy. Heck, I kind of like that one too. He’s a lot of fun being chewed. And of course, he has to check out mom’s feet. Right now, the little guy is so short and low to the ground that he finds everyone’s feet fascinating. He follows them everywhere in the Hotel Thompson. And occasionally, he will lick toes. Mom just squeals with delight. I do that to her too 🙂 Silly mom huh?
And don’t think daddy gets left out of the fun. Houdini is a equal toe licker – snorts that sounds so terribly bad doesn’t it?
.
And this past Friday, mom took off from the worky place to get Houdini his next set of shots and for a wellness check. Everything checked out okay. Can you guess how much he weighed in at this visit? Go ahead – you’ll never be able to guess. Ready for it? A whopping 2.4 pounds! Man, he’s a cow isn’t it? Snorts and rolls around laughing. He goes back to the vet in three more weeks for one more set of puppy shots. Then he’ll go back for his yearly shots. The little guy has been poked and prodded so much in the past 12 weeks it’s unreal!
And look at this picture to the left, he is trying to get to dad’s toes under the tray so dad can’t get him. He’s way too funny the little guy!
So there’s your update on the Houdini. Stay tuned for more my friends!
