Come Here Spring!

Dearest Mother Nature – Really?  This weather you are throwing at us is outrageous.  One day it’s in the 70’s and the next day it’s in the 30’s.  Daddy says you are going through – what did he call it? – menopause.  He says that’s the only way to explain the vast difference in temperatures.  I can’t tell you what mommy called it – it was a bad word.

Yesterday here it was beautiful.  It was the first day it hasn’t rained.  Which by the way it has rained so much that I think I’m sprouting feathers and quacking now instead of oinking.  Today when mom went to work, it was so dark I thought it was night.  Nope, it was the same time that she usually leaves.  It was dark because it looked like the sky was fixing to fall out with thunderstorms.  Lovely.

You know there are medicines that you can take for these mood swings.  If they don’t help, maybe you need to see a professional instead of taking this out on everyone in the world.  I’m just sayin’.

My Magical Backyard

Oh friends, I’ve been telling you for the longest time that here is magic in my backyard here at the Hotel Thompson.  Frequently when we are in the backyard, we here grunts, groans and things moving in the woods behind us.. And trust me, there is lots of woods behind us.  And did I mention there is also a creek?  See the makings of a perfect storm.  Lots of woods to play and hide in and a drinking creek.  That means there has to be wild things in the woods.  Right?   I mean you know other than Journalist Rocky the Squirrel, there *has* to be other wildlife in my magical backyard.

Well at the end of December, a friend of mom’s put up a camera.  We did tell our friend that if he caught my Bigfoot or mom/dad dancing naked in the moonlight, he couldn’t share those pictures.  You know for obvious reasons… someone might try to take my Bigfoot.  Snorts with piggy laughter.

The camera was left out during the Christmas holidays.  And guess what – we have pictures of wildlife!  Check out these deers… or were they Santa’s deers just getting a snack while Santa was at the Hotel Thompson.  You decide.

Good Bye Don Juan

Good riddance!  Another year behind us with the freak gone.  Shakes piggy head.  I think I will need therapy this year to get over some of the antics that Don Juan did to us this year.  He has no morals.  No standards.  Not anything good is in his twisted little body.  He is bad.  Real bad.

The night before Christmas, dad was going to set out donuts and a Coke Zero for Santa.  I know that’s a weird combination but dad assured me that was what Santa wanted – Shakes piggy head.  You know what they say, “Don’t argue with your elders”.  Snorts with piggy laughter.

Dad went to go get the donuts and he found Don Juan was in his bag.  The little brat ate all of the donuts but one.  Daddy said Santa was *not* going to be happy.

So Don Juan – goodbye.  Good riddance.  Don’t let the door hit you on the butt on the way out of the Hotel Thompson.  Until we see each again, may you see nothing but darkness.  And watch out little guy – we will be prepared for you next year.  Oh yes… we will – evil piggy snorts.

Mom/Dad Spotted Santa!!

OH MY PIGGY HEAVENS!!

Mom/Dad went out with friends last night.  They were riding around after dinner looking at the beautiful Christmas lights.  Somehow, they got off the beaten road.  It was dark – the only light was from their friends high beams on their car.  That’s when all of a sudden, reindeer flew in front of their car.  I mean FLEW.  Can you believe that?!

Santa is real!

They pulled off the side of the road and looked for them but didn’t see anything else.  Oh my piggy heavens above!  Tonight on television, they will have Santa tracker.  I can honestly say that mom/dad have already tracked Santa.  WOWZER!

So my friends – keeping looking up in the sky and let me know if you see him too.

Journey with Friends – Week 49

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

Sunday, December 3, 2017 –  Finally a day of rest.  I don’t think much moving was done by me, Jim or the anipals here at the Hotel Thompson.  We slept and rested which is exactly what I needed!  Miles Moved: -0-

Monday, December 4, 2017 –  Back into the grind of things.  It’s already the beginning of December!  There is so much to do but this year I feel we will be taking things easy and light.  I don’t have the stamina to be crawling around putting up decorations and it’s just me and Jim.  This year having this surgery was our gift to each other.  Having the lumps gone and being here for each other.  What else could we ask for, right?  Miles Moved: 0.95

Tuesday, December 5, 2017 –  Working on a surprise for Jim for next week.  Do you know how hard it is to work on surprises for that man?  Do you have one in your life that can almost guess every.single.time what you might be doing?  The boy has a sixth sense for some things.  But what he *thinks* and what happens could be two different things.  My sister is in cahoots with me.  You know this can’t end well – snickers.   Miles Moved: 1.21

Wednesday, December 6, 2017 –  So much to get done this weekend and it’s only Wednesday!  My list is getting longer and the days are getting shorter.  What’s a girl to do?  Maybe I can start training Bacon and Houdini to help out with errands?  That should be interesting for sure.  Miles Moved: 0.93

Thursday, December 7, 2017 –  Today was a hiccup.  I’ve had one spot under my left breast that has been bothering me.  I just don’t like the looks of it.  I called the doctors office last week and they told me it was a ‘spitting stitch’.  It still bothers me today so I called the doctors office and sent him a picture via text.   Of course he wanted me to come in to look more closely at it and to check a few things.  Of course I got worried when he pulled out scissors and tweezers.  Can you say ouch?  Remember to check out my other blog here for details of this situation.   Miles Moved: 1.13

Friday, December 8, 2017 – Friday I love you so much!  Thank goodness we made it to you.  Now to get finished at work and start some errands!   Miles Moved: 0.93

Saturday, December 9, 2017 –  Work up feeling a little under the weather.  I guess the doctor ‘operating’ on me Thursday finally caught up to me and I was aching a bit today.  And on top of everything else, we got snow this morning.  Okay it was SNOW to us…we freak out with one snowflake – LOL.  But today needs to go on.  Houdini has a spa appointment and then he is off to see Santa.  Be afraid Santa.  There is no telling what he will ask for this year for Christmas.  Miles Moved: 0.65

Thoughts for the week:  Baby steps.  Life is not a race.  We all get to where we want in the end.  That’s my motto for my recovery.  This Wednesday 12/13/2017 will be 5 weeks.  Some days I feel like it’s been FIVE WEEKS.  Some days I feel like it’s a rush of time.  Recovery is slow but I’m so happy with my results so far.  And believe it or not, I’m itching to get back into my workout routine in January.  January is a new year all around for me.  Have a great week my friends ❤

This week walked: 5.80

TOTAL 2017 Miles:  523.56

❤ small goals turn into big accomplishments ❤

Don Juan Has Done It Now!

IMG_0843.JPG

How in the world am I going to explain this picture to mommy?  It looks like that little psycho elf has been into mom’s pictures and sent them to a certain magazine which has made its way to the big man and his elves.

Shakes piggy head.  This can’t be good.  Look at their faces?!  Oh dear piggy heavens.  How am I ever going to tell mommy what Don Juan has done this time?!  What will daddy think?

You gotta help me friends.  How do I break it gently to my mom that her private pictures may not be so private anymore and that she might be on Santa’s naughty list… but he might like it?  Snorts.

Don Juan is in deep doo-doo here at the Hotel Thompson. Shakes piggy head and walks away with daddy’s credit card.  I gotta buy all of these off the market so she doesn’t see the cover.

Spotlight Thursday – Meet Mr. Cleveland Brown

Spotlight Thursday

Welcome my friends to SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY.  This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better.  Some of them, you may already know.  We hope that you enjoy this series!

FRIENDS – Meet my fellow oinker from across the pond – doesn’t he remind you of someone?  Snort-oink.  Mr. Cleveland Brown will be checking in for messages/comments throughout the day.  Please – let’s show him some love ❤

Name:  Mr. Cleveland Brown

Age:   Not sure – I think around 8

Location:  Prestatyn, Wales, UK

Web/Blog Page:  Under Construction 🙂

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents?  I thought she looked like Santa! It was December and they came to visit me and she was wearing a red coat! She said to me that she was going to be my new Mummy, I liked her although I was quite wary at first. I thought he had a nice kind face but I wasn’t sure if they would love me though, I need to explain. At that time I was staying at a horse sanctuary, I had been taken there so I’d be safe. Thing is my old parents weren’t very nice to me, I don’t know why I tried to be good. I don’t remember a lot because I was only little but I ended up running around on a road with scary cars that were going really fast and one hit me and it made me go to sleep for a bit.

I was told later that a nice man tried to put me in his boot to take me to the police station but he couldn’t lift me so he rang the police man and they said they would come but by the time they did I had woken up and was running again. It was so cold and I was so hungry so I just kept wandering and I found a nice garden so I went in there and tried to sleep. In the morning the lady that lived in the house opened her curtains and we looked at each other a bit shocked. She was nice but I was very scared of people but she rang the police man again and they came and he took a picture of me, I think they call it a mug shot? So then the horse sanctuary ladies came and with a bit of a struggle they got me into the trailer thingy but I was good I didn’t bite any of them.

It felt so good to be in the stable it was so much warmer as I had some nice straw to snuggle in and they gave me some food, I was so hungry, those ladies were very nice. They told the radio people about me trying to find my parents and my new Mummy heard about me and that’s when they came to see me. My old parents didn’t come for me but I’m glad they didn’t if I’m honest they weren’t nice people.

What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home?  Well the big day came and I was put in a crate, I gave them a bit of a run around of course hehe but I went in there in the end. They lifted me into the big car and we drove for a little while until we got to where I was going to live. They opened the crate and I wandered out and that’s when I saw it! A really smart house! I’d never had a house to myself before well I hadn’t had much of anything really. It might not have been much to some pampered piggies but to me it was a palace. I went straight in and snuggled up in the warm straw it was bliss, I knew that never wanted to leave this place ever.

What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home?  Not sure where to start there’s been few hehe! There was the time I escaped and the chase was on again around the street, I did a big poo in the lady over the road’s garden but they managed to guide me back into my house again. Once I was back in the drive I ran straight back into my piggy palace and didn’t go out again for a while I didn’t want to do that again! There was one time that I thought the hose pipe would look good in my house and took it in there thing is I hadn’t considered that it was on and my house got wet oops!

Who do you have wrapped around your trotters more – mom or dad – and why? Both! I have them so well trained. I do a bit of squealing and they will come out and give me some fuss and a snack hehe! I think Daddy sneaks me more biccies that Mum though.

What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you?  Some think that I’m mean, and are scared of me I don’t know why I’m more scared of them! Once they get to know me though they know I’m nice.

Hope you enjoyed meeting my friend – check back next week for another Spotlight edition!

Christmas Wish For YOU

Hello friends. I’ve thought long and hard on what exactly I want for Christmas this year.  With all of the endless possibilities, it’s hard to just pick a few things.  Then last night while we were all watching television in the front room of the Hotel Thompson, it hit me.

All I want for Christmas is for my friends here in blogville to be happy, to be loved and to know that you are so special to us here at the Hotel Thompson.  May your holiday season be surrounded by your loved ones.  We wish you all of the happiness in the world ❤
