Paw Time with Houdini – Spooky Video Attached

Barks my friends!  Another week gone and tomorrow is the BIG day – HALLOWEEN!  We can’t wait.  We are going to celebrate the way mom did when growing up.  We are all going to bundle up in the big bed with popcorn and watch scary movies.  I think we are all excited just to be together.  I’m sure we will all be snoring before the first show ends – barks!

But I did dress up in my costume.  Our local pet store had a dress up party and I went last night.  It was so much fun!  I got to strut myself around in my Captain America outfit and be a Super Hero for a while.  They had puppy treats and treat bags for anipals that I got to bring home.  Score one for the little puppy huh?  This is a picture that mom took of me in my outfit.  If you look closely, I’m smiling and you can see my teeth.  Dad says I’m Captain America but mom says with those two front teeth showing, I could be VAMPIRE Captain America – BARKS!
Mom/dad say we have lots of errands to do this weekend.  One of those errands they say I have to go with them.  The way they said it, it didn’t sound good.  I’m thinking this weekend might be the V.E.T. thing they keep spelling out around me.  They don’t understand that us anipals know these key important words that they like to spell.  I’m hoping I’m wrong about the V.E.T. but the way daddy keeps saying it with a grin in his voice, I don’t think so.  I’ll keep you posted.

And my friends, I have a special treat for you today.  All of us anipals and even the rock clan have been working on a project to help end 31 Days of Spook.  We put together a little something and we hope that you enjoy it my friends.

Guess Who Came Home?!

Bashful, Chip, Willow and Sky!

I have missed my boys, Bashful and Chip, so very much for the last couple of weeks.  Thank goodness Chip didn’t have any accidents and both behaved themselves while they were visiting our friends Kali and Sholo – the Canadian Cats – in Canada.  They came home a couple of days ago in a box that mom got from the mailbox.  We could hear the party going on in the box and we were all trying our best to open the box.  With mom’s arthritis and dad’s vision problems, we called in back-up in the forms of myself and Houdini.  Eventually, the box was opened. Bashful and Chip jumped out and started talking and giving rockhugs. Then, Willow and Sky were persuaded out of the box.

All of the rock clan were lined up to meet them with hellos and hugs. Everyone was so excited.  They were hungry and thirsty so mom fixed them some Rock Candy and water.  While they ate and drunk, they told us about their adventures in Canada.  Willow and Sky opened up about their lives and what they wanted to do with their future.  Mom explained that Atlanta was not too far away from the Hotel Thompson and there were so many schools for herbalists there that she would look into for Sky’s further training.  Willow and Chip started yawning by this time so I thought it was safe to tuck the little tykes into bed – because you know here in the south, “There’s always tomorrow”.

While mom/dad put the rocks to bed, I looked at the rest of the contents in the box reading a card from Shoko, Kali and their humans.  What a fun time they had!

Look at all of these goodies they sent back home – bandannas, purr thing toys, a card holder, postcards on how to mail a moose (awesome!!) and a bear bell.  Let me tell you my friends Kali and Shoko –

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

I’ve been looking for a bell that was big enough yet sturdy enough to put on my friendly Bigfoot in my backyard.  He has been sneaking around in my backyard at night after everyone goes to bed.  He’s been scaring the pee-pee out of me for sure!

.

So here we go my friends.  Where in the world will Bashful end up next?  Any guesses?

Paw Time with Houdini

Barks my friends!  Welcome to another week of Paw Time with Houdini.  Can you believe I’m a big pooch now?  I am!  I’m a big dog – I’m ONE.  It was a great week of celebrating with Nana’s at the birthday party and then Wednesday night with mom/dad, Bacon, Mouse Girl, Hemi and the rock clan.  Don’t let those rocks fool you – they know how to PARTY!  I know we kept Bacon from his beauty sleep that night but hey a dog only turns one once, right?

I got lots of cool toys for my birthday.  My favorite – oh barks!! – it’s a ball inside of a ball.  And let me tell you my friends, I WANT THAT BALL!  It drives me crazy.  I can feel the ball inside with my paws.  I carry that ball around and bark at it and tell it to get out.  It doesn’t mind me!  Can you imagine that?  Well Bacon took a video of me trying to make that ball mind.  I thought this week I would share it with you. Enjoy my friends!

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Houdini’s Party

It’s hard to believe but Little Man Houdini is officially ONE YEAR OLD today!!  Can you believe that?  Mom/dad brought him here to the Hotel Thompson to his forever home 9 months ago – he was a mere three months and only weighed 3 pounds.  This past weekend, mom/dad threw him a surprise birthday party with his doggy friends up at Nana’s.  We will be having a party for him here at the Hotel Thompson with all of us tonight.

When he first got to Nana’s, mom changed him into his outfit to the left – isn’t it adorable?  Oh my goodness – squeals.  You see on Saturday, mom/dad went birthday shopping for the little guy at our local pet store.  Houdini usually goes but couldn’t go this time so I went.  Mom/dad didn’t want him to see all of his gifts for his birthday.  And hey, I was in the car when they were doing their test on Albert vs Tank.  I love the pet store – so many friendly peeps.  Now I know why Houdini likes to go!  So mom got Houdini all dressed up and then dressed up Tinkerbell and Dingo for the birthday bash.

Aren’t these two just the cutest?  Dingo is on the left.  He tolerated his hat only because he kept saying, “There will be ice cream, right?”  Snorts – smart dog isn’t he?

Tinkerbell is on the right.  She really liked her hat.  She just pranced around the house wearing it… and looking for ice cream too.  But you gotta admit, for 14 years old Tinkerbell looks like 4, doesn’t she?  So cute and adorable.

And you are probably asking about the ice cream.  Did you know that there is an ice cream made specifically for dogs called Frosty Paws?  There is and you can buy it at your local grocery store.  It doesn’t have any added sugar and this particular box had peanut butter flavor.

And it’s good. How do I know?  Snorts – good question.  You see Nana told me.  When she served the ice cream, it was really hard.  Nana put it in the microwave for a few minutes to soften it.  Without thinking about it, she put her finger in it and tasted it to see if it was too warm.  Doh!  That’s when she realized she was eating doggy ice cream – snorts with piggy laughter. That’s our Nana.  But she said it was delicious. How delicious?  Let me show you some pics of the great ice cream eating fest.

This is Houdini blowing out his candle to the right.  He was making a wish first – for lots and LOTS of toys and food.

Then the picture to the left is Houdini being spoon fed by Nana.  Rolls piggy eyes.  Can you imagine that?  The little guy is getting SPOON FED for his birthday.

Of course, Nana put some on a plate too and he did eat some off of a plate with Dingo and Tinkerbell.

And don’t worry – Nana fixed Houdini a cake of sorts too.  This is it in the picture to the right – cute huh?  It had lots of food – Houdini got the pot of gold and got an entire box of Ceasar wet food.  He eats a little of that every morning with his dry food.  Talk about rotten huh?  Well you haven’t seen anything.  Look at all of the toys he got in his toy chest of a box.

He got a rope for tug a war from me.  See I was thinking about the little guy 🙂  The cats gave him the cow looking thing in the middle.  You stick an empty water bottle up it for the crunchy crinkly sound that Houdini loves.  And Tinkerbell and Dingo got him the ball inside of a ball on the far left.  So cool!

As you can see, Houdini had a great party at Nana’s.  Tonight we are having a quite dinner and fun time with him here at the Hotel Thompson.  But all of us anipals here have to tell the little guy –

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

And a special thank you to my brother Easy for sending the little guy his first birthday card.  Thanks brother – he loved it!

Snowmageddon Continues

20140130-201950.jpg

So when you are snowed in during the great Snowmageddon, what do you do?  The rock clan decided to go outside and attempt to make snowballs and snowmen – rolls piggy eyes.  They can go for it.  Snow is cold – snorts. I stayed inside and doctored mom with her back.  Me and dad made a nice fire and we camped out on the sofa with mom’s heating pad.

So they all galloped outside with the camera and made a small snowman.  You can see it barely on the top part of their picture.  And all of the rocks decided to go out – Bashful, Manny, Princess Coralena, Virginia, Benedict and Rockelle.

.

Poor Virginia is in the upper left hand side.  It looks like she almost got covered and snowed in – snorts.  And do you see who is siding up all cozy together – Rockelle and Benedict.  Could love be in the air… or is that snow?

I’m also glad to report that Snowmageddon in Atlanta seems to be clearing up a bit.  It was tough going for a couple of days here.  The snow hit us hard and I’ll be the first to admit it that we don’t do snow very well.  First off, we just don’t get it that often if ever.  But when we do, we shut down – literally.  There were people that got stuck in traffic with the snow and ice on highways downtown.  They were in their cars for hours before giving up and trying to get him by alternate ways.  Then there were schools that had to keep children overnight because they couldn’t get them home in the snow and ice.

Yep, it’s been a tough couple of days here.  But it looks like things are turning around.  Mommy finally gets to go back to the worky place tomorrow.  I hate that because I sure have enjoyed her being home with me.  That’s for sure.

Bashful is Back Home – YAY!

20131211-105628.jpg Bashful made it back to the Hotel Thompson from Australia!

We all stayed up really late last night talking about his travels and misadventures.  OMP (oh my pig)!  He had a blast down under.  And like Las Vegas, some things that happened in Australia stay in Australia if you know what I mean – winks winks.

You’re not going to accept that, are you?  You want the juicy details of his wicked time with Bimby while making his short silent movie Rockadile Dundee.  I’m sorry.

I can’t tell you any of the juicy details.  Bashful said that a gentlerock does not talk about his ladies.  aaaww – I raised that little pebble right!

.

20131211-105635.jpg

The little international rolling stone came home with some great treasures of his time spent with his host family.  The above left handed picture is Bashful in his suit that he wore to the wedding. What a handsome little guy!  He now refers to that suit as his 007 Rock Bond outfit.  What a riot!  He told me late last night that he wore his suit out one night when he took Bimby out for a date – 🙂

The picture to the right is of Bashful and his Australian outback hat.  What a looker!  And you see that item behind him?  That is a hand painted boomerang from Australia that came home with him.  I’ve already caught him throwing it around the house.  We’ve all learned how to duck really fast with that thing flying about.  And never fear about his cross eyed look in the picture.  I think he was slightly inebriated from the long flight home.  You know, they’ll serve anyone a drink these days in the happy air above.  I guess there is no ‘under age’ in the sky.

20131211-105649.jpg

This picture to the left is of the other goodies that Bashful came home with that was in his luggage.  Stickers of all different things – Koala bears, snakes and Kangaroos.  Bashful told me that I could have some of them to put in our bedroom – I can’t wait to decorate my board.

And you know, they didn’t forget mom either.  See that fluffy pen in the picture?  It’s a Mickey Mouse pen!  It lights up when you write with it.  Mommy is in love with that pen.  I do believe she took it to the worky place so she can use/look at it every day.

.

Fozziemom and company was even so nice to send the purr things some treats.  Trust me, those little vultures jumped on that bag like it was crack!

20131211-105657.jpgAnd talking about crack – snorts.  See that can to the left beside the Koala pouch, Bashful is hooked on that stuff!  Mom/dad tried some last night and gave me a small bite.  OMP (oh my pig!).  It is GOOD!  No wonder that little Bashful couldn’t stay out of it.  It’s peppermint glory.

And you’re probably wondering about that Koala pouch.  It is the cutest little thing that zips up.  There was something amazing in that little pouch.  I’m getting too ahead of myself so you’ll have to wait for what it was. I promise to tell you.

.

20131211-105705.jpgAnd of course, we have to show a picture of the intellectual Bashful with his glasses on and sporting his hat.  Can you believe he went to bed last night wearing that?  And yes, he used his specks when he was reading to us out loud about his adventures in his travel log.

Can you believe that we also had a slide show of his side trip to Sydney?  Oh gracious – it was a hoot.  He visited so many places while down under.  I think we will be hearing about his tales for some time to come.

But, we are talking about the international rolling stone – my Bashful.  He will be home for a couple of more days and then he is off to his next host family and his next adventure.  Where will it be?  Only me and the next host family will know.

.

20131211-105724.jpgBut before he hops that plane, we had to take some family pictures of the “Rock Clan”.  There they all are on their sofa in their bedroom getting to know each other.

From left to right, they are:

Princess Coralena (from Hawaii), Mannie (from France), Virginia (from Virginia), Bashful and wait a minute – who is that?

.

20131211-105734.jpg

May I introduce you to the newest member of the Hotel Thompson.  This is Rockelle from Australia.  She is in this picture wearing Bashful’s Australian hat and wait – what is that?  She is siding up with Bashful and they are a twosome?!  Stop the presses – Bashful came home with a girlfriend?!  And they know how to grow them in Australia.  She has the cutest little accent and look at that purple eyeshadow.  She has so woo’ed the little guy.

And you’re probably wondering about how Princess Coralena must be feeling about this.  Well, let’s just say there’s going to be a rock fight about whose rock Bashful really is.  I can feel it in my bones.  But Bashful, he’s a young tyke.  He needs to experience life right now.  He can always settle down when he hangs up his travel boots, right?

So, to Fozziemom and clan – thank you so much for hosting a great time for the little fellow.  I know he had an awesome time and will always cherish his memories with you in Australia.  You were great.

But the bottom question remains – where will Bashful end up next?

Cats Rule – Pigs Drool!

20131113-093032.jpg

20131113-093103.jpg

Every once in a while, us purr things at the Hotel Thompson have to put oinker Bacon in his place.  This is me (Hemi) to the right and Mouse Girl to the left.  I’m not sure how many times we are going to have to hack this pig’s blog to make him understand that Cats Rule – Pigs Drool!

I’m sure that as friends of Bacon, you would agree that we have a certain chemistry – a certain mystery to us. Right?

20131113-093137.jpg.

And enough with all of this traveling with Bashful.  Hey, we understand he’s cute but come on.  I’m sitting in this box until mom makes a couple of air holes for me and sends me to Australia. I want to see some kangaroos too.  Why does the rock get all of the fun?

Talking rocks, another thing us purr things want to discuss.  What’s up with all of the nightly rock concerts in Bacon’s bedroom?  Princess Coralena, Virginia and Manny seem to be rocking to some classics behind the closed door a lot lately.  I’m not sure what’s going on in there with those three but they seem to be making a lot of noise and skyping A LOT lately.

hhhmm – We purr things are going to have to fix some of these problems.  Anyone behind us?  Anyone at all?
