Paw Time with Houdini

Hello my friends.  First I wanted to take this time to say thank you to everyone in blogville that have stopped by to leave messages, sent cards and called the Hotel Thompson.  Your kindness has meant so much to us here.  It was truly a shock last weekend in the passing of Mouse Girl over the Rainbow Bridge.  None of us can understand it all.

We have all taken turns trying to find comfort in mom/dad.  Bacon was stuck to mom’s side like glue and as you can tell from these pics, me and Hemi are glued to daddy.  We anipals are really trying to help out mom/dad just like they are trying to help us out.   It will take time but I know with all of your help, we will make it through this.

And daddy has submitted a Jokes with Daddy joke for you today.  I think by this time, we could all use a good laugh.  So my friends, I hope you enjoy and have a great weekend!

Kermit Gone Bad

Dear Miss Piggy,

Kermit is bad for you.  Look at this drunken amphibian.  Getting drunk – taking selfies and posting them on Facebook.  All of this when he should be spending quality time with the Goddess that you are.

Any time you are ready for a better life and to be treated like you should – call me okay.

Blog is Being Purr-Jacked Today…

Hello friends.  You probably know us as the purr things here at the Hotel Thompson.  I’m the gorgeous Princess Mouse Girl (to the left) and this is Master Hemi (to the right).  Say hi Hemi.  – Hey buds!

We secretly know that we run things around here.  We just let the pig *think* he does – purr.

We do give him a lot of credit though.  For instance, his blog here.  He has really done a great and wonderful job in keeping it up and coming up with some great stories. I wouldn’t believe too much of what he writes about us purr things.  – Yeah, especially me swiping him on the fanny.  Would I do that?

Anyway Hemi, let’s get out what we came here for okay.  The pig is taking today off from his blog.  Something about him meditating to clear his mind to come up with some better stories.  Personally, I think he’s off playing with that Journalist Rocky the Squirrel in the back yard getting into trouble.  And, he might be cleaning up Bashful’s part of the bedroom where he took over while Bashful was in France.

Where has the time gone? Bacon will be turning TWO next month.  His birthday is September 15, 2013.  It just seems like yesterday mom/dad brought him home.  Amazing how fast we grow so quickly.  – I know what you mean Mouse Girl, look in the mirror – chuckles.  Really Hemi?  Not now.

So we are inviting all of Bacon’s friends to his surprise party on Monday, September 16, 2013.  I know – you are probably asking why Monday, September 16, 2013 if his birthday is Sunday, September 15, 2013?  Well, Sunday he is going to celebrate with us and he won’t have a clue that he is going to be celebrating with all of you – his friends in blogville the next day.  He will be shocked for Monday’s posting on September 16, 2013.

Monday, September 16, 2013 we are dedicating his blog to “Happy Birthday Bacon”.  We are going to have pictures and cute stories and we want you there for it all.  Bacon has no clue that we are throwing him this surprise birthday party.  It’s a secret so don’t tell him okay.

If you would like to share a story or send him birthday wishes – send us an email at with HAPPY BIRTHDAY in the Subject Line.  OR if you would like to video tape him a greeting, put it on youtube and send us the link or send us the video.  OR if you just want to ‘drop in’ sometime that day, be sure to mark your calendars for that as well.

We will put everything together in his special post for Monday, September 16, 2013.

But remember – ssshhh – he doesn’t know about this.

Words of Wisdom

I found this motto while I was on the computer last night. I showed it to mom/dad and they agreed 100%. What do you think?

Mom said dad fit this so perfectly :). Happy hump day my friends.

Greetings from Princess Mouse Girl

20130322-091834.jpgHi everyone. My name is Princess Mouse Girl. I am one of the purr things here at the Hotel Thompson. Bacon has his hands full right now with Bashful and asked me to step in today. That took a lot for that little pig to ask for help. I’m honored. And trust me, I won’t let him forget that he had to ask *me* for help – purr wink.

Mom took this picture of me not too long ago. I know you want to rub my furry belly, don’t you? Dad says it looks like I have go-go boots on my bottom feet. I am 20 pounds of cuteness all rolled up in furry heaven.

I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you something about myself. I’m the only girl at the hotel besides mom. Yes, with all of these boys it does make it hard on me sometimes. They like to be rough and run. I’m strictly a girly cat. I like my spa time – I like to get pampered, carried, held and brushed.

I am what they refer to as a Maine Coon cat. Maine Coons run a little bit bigger in size and are known for our bushy tails – you can almost see mine at the bottom of the picture.

Mom and dad adopted me from the shelter on December 19, 2010. Hemi had just lost his brother that summer and was taking it really hard. Mom and dad was trying everything to get him to cheer back up and it wasn’t working. They spoke to Hemi’s catatrician and she suggested getting him a new friend.

Mom looked everywhere and found a shelter that was going to be in our area over that weekend. Mom even found a kitty she wanted to look at when they went and completed all of the adoption paperwork before hand. When they went to the shelter, the kitty they wanted to see didn’t want anything to do with mom. Weird huh? And mom’s a loveable kind of gal. But that’s okay – I saw the opportunity and seized it!

I was in a corner cage minding my business when I saw mom and dad walk into the shelter. While mom went to look at the other kitty, dad was just standing beside my cage. I did what any kitty has to do to get noticed. I reached through the bars and touched daddy’s arm. It scared him at first but it did the trick. He noticed and petted me a little through the bars. He started to walk away and I wasn’t going to have that! I started meowing and purring like there was no tomorrow. That got his attention again and he came back to me. Everytime he left my play pen area, I would make noise to get him back.

I got so loud at times, other people started noticing. I mean think about it, I was going home that day. I had picked out my humans and it was the matter of getting them to accept me now. Finally mom came over. I think I had her at meow. They decided then and there that I was the one. Mom went to do the paperwork and that’s when she found out my name, Mouse Girl. Since mom likes that little mouse that wears the white gloves so much, she thought it was meant to be with Mouse being in my name.

I went home that day to the Hotel Thompson and I’ve never looked back. As soon as Hemi saw me, we started playing together. He chirped up and mom and dad had their old Hemi back. We’ve been family every since.

So, there you go. Everything you wanted to know about the wonderful Princess Mouse Girl. Hope you have a puurrrfectly wonderful weekend everyone – Kisses – Mouse

Hijacked by Hemi

Greetings fellow pig followers,20121119-075835.jpg

Meow – my name is Hemingway… or as the pig refers to me, Hemi the Wonderful.  He doesn’t say that, does he?  It’s okay.  Don’t believe everything the little man tells you.  I’m as innocent as a new born babe.  I wouldn’t hurt a fly… perhaps play with him for hours but not hurt him.

This house is big enough for the three of us as long as the other two know their place on the food chain.  I rule.  It’s a simple as that.  I’m head of the food chain.  The other two are tied for second on the chain.  It’s not being a bully.  It’s not being over bearing.  It’s just that simple.  I’ve been here at the Hotel Thompson the longest.  Mom and dad got me from the shelter when I was only three weeks old.  They bottle fed me and my brother at the time.  Mom even took us to work with her every day for several weeks.  Beat that one pig.  I think you’ve only been to work one time and cough cough I think you fit right in where she worked.  But, that’s another story.

Three years ago, my brother Tybee passed away.  It was sudden and I admit I grieved for him.  He was the runt in our litter and yes he knew his place as well.  But I did miss the little fellow.  I had the house all to myself but there was something missing.  I didn’t have anyone to boss around… I mean play with.  Yeah, that’s it.  So bless mom’s heart and trust me she has a big one.  She called my vet and told them what was going on with me.  Do you believe they had the gall to suggest getting another cat for the house?!  And to top it off, a girl cat.  What was up with that.

So mom and dad went to the shelter again looking for a sister for me while I moped, I mean took over the house.  They went to look at one particular cat they had saw on line but that cat didn’t bond with mom.  But while they were there, there was a cat that just wouldn’t shut up and kept trying to get mom and dad’s attention.  When they held her, she purred.  When mom asked her name, it was Mouse Girl.  That name had a special meaning to mom.  And then they asked her birthday which also had another special meaning with mom.  It was meant to be unfortunately for me.

They brought the little vixen home who at the time was only one.  She was bigger than me!  This wasn’t a cat.  This was a sasquatch of cats.  Mom said she was a Maine Coon.  I still say sasquatch.  She is huge!  And talk about an attitude.  See this picture to the left?  She is the little princess darling in the bunch.  She wants loving when she wants loving.  Now, she’s come a long way in the household and she will play now.  And, thank goodness she doesn’t know her size.  Don’t let that sweetness full you though.  Mom has caught her in the act picking on ME and then acting like the victim.  Way to go mom!

Mom says that I pick on her because I … hold on a sec let me cough up this furball… love her.  UUMMM I don’t know about that. I tolerate her.  I don’t want anything to happen to her.  That doesn’t mean I love her.  She’s the little princess in the house and for the most part gets her way in everything because she’s a girl.  She knows she can run to daddy and daddy will save her spoiled little behinney every time.  It’s okay, daddy has to sleep sometimes. 🙂 wink

As long as we all know our place in the home, it’s all good.  We’re all loved.  We’re all taken care of.  It may seem like this pig gets all of the attention but he doesn’t.  He’s not like the purr persuasion.  He can not take care of himself.  We can.  We are the better breed.  And yeah, I guess I do care for the little oinker.  He can take a slap across the fanny pretty good when we’re playing and he is fun to play with.  So bottom line is that we all do get along.

Maybe this will teach the little snort munchkin not to leave his computer open when he sleeps.  I hope you had a puurrfffectly good time.  Don’t tell the Bacon I was here okay.

Hemi Out!

Me and the Purr Things – Is it Friendship?

20120716-003207.jpgA lot of people often ask mom and dad if I get along with my purr things, Hemi and Mouse Girl.  Of course I do.  Snort

Now, Mouse Girl, she’s the only girl in the house besides mom.  She is a little princess in daddy’s eyes.  I mean come on, what little girl isn’t you know.  She does no wrong.  But let me tell you something about Princess Poo Poo, she has an evil streak.  Dad may not see it but I have.  We pick on her but believe me, she gets even and 9 times out of 10, she gets away with it because no one thinks she would do anything like that.  But I know.  I have her ticket.  Uh huh – I sure do.

Now, Hemi, he’s in the picture with me above.  We are playmates.  Hemi likes to play what he calls tag.  He will slap me in the hiney with  his huge hemingway paw and trust me, that extra digit matters.  It hurts on my fanny.  One time, he slapped me across the face.  He hit so hard, I shook my head.  That’s a powerful slap friend.  After he slaps me, he then runs away and I chase him.  This goes back and forth for hours.  We run all through the house, down the halls, in my bedroom, across my bed, everywhere!  We’re just playing.  You’ll find us sometimes curled up sleeping together.  Us men have to stand together.

So, yeah, we get along just fine for the most part.  We’re running buds.  Me and Hemi, we’re just thinking of ways to take over the household for good.  We’ll keep you posted on how that works out for us.  🙂
