Paw Time with Houdini

Hey friends!  How was your week?  Mine was awesome – I got a lot of lap time from mom.  You gotta love mommy lap time, right?  It’s the bestest in the entire world.  And I learned something so exciting and wonderful.  If mom is walking or standing and if I reach out with my front paws on her leg, she picks me up and loves on me.  OMD – why didn’t I learn this earlier in my puppy life?  Every time I turn around now, I have to do this so mom holds me and only me.  What a life!?  If she holds me and puts me down, I give a little grunt of dissatisfaction and she picks me back up.  WOW!  Then she carries me everywhere – to the mailbox, out in the back yard, up the street to Nana’s – wherever.  Did you know this maneuver my friends?  If not, you need to try it and let me know what you think.

And this picture of me – let me explain 😦  You see I went to sleep and when I woke up the pillow had exploded.  Yep that’s it.  That’s the story I’m sticking to for sure – looks innocently and gives you a puppy kiss.

Paw Time with Houdini

Hello friends.  How was your week?  We continue to live in hell here in the south.  The weather has gotten much better.  It’s still so very hot.  Of course, we have had a couple of thunderstorms here/there.  And yes, my Mellow Shirt is great comfort.  But these storms don’t bring much relief in the heat.  Being in the south with all of this humidity, after the storms it is so much worse with the clammy heat.  I know I talk about the heat a lot but it’s hot!  I can’t even walk to the mailbox with mom without huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf.  Relief has to be soon… I hope.

This week I thought I would leave you with some of my philosophy in a picture.  I hope that you enjoy it my sweet friends.  Here’s to a fantastic weekend with lots of snuggles and extra treats!

Journey with Friends

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

How are you my friends?  Did you have great results last week?  Here, not so much.  I have not gained but I have not pushed it like I should.  I had a hard time getting back into the swing of things from coming off my birthday.  But that’s okay.  I’m better today and this week will be great.  Last week I did walk 15,612 steps which equates to 7.39 miles.  I’m good with that.  In a month, I’ve walked a little over 40 miles.  When you look at it like that, it’s awesome!  So although the scales aren’t playing nice, I still feel like I’m doing something which is a great feeling.  So my friends, here’s to another week.  We can do this!!

Miles Walked Since 06/13/2016: 40.80 miles

National Compliment Day

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

“Keeping my paws on the nuts of the world!”

.

January 24th, is commemorated as National Compliment Day every year. It is a very special day and celebrated in most parts of the world apart from the USA. This day represents a positive theme – a positive tone in a positive atmosphere – everywhere you are whether it be at home, the grocery market, work or that place the humans feel to punish themselves by what they call “working out”.

Compliments – compliments – compliments – that is what we most do today. Have you ever noticed how someone just brightens up at a compliment, even a complete stranger? Do you notice how much harder you work when you get a compliment? So today, we shall compliment our little hearts out.

So here are some suggestions that can help you today on your National Compliment Day.

Compliment that human that is consistently working out in their hamster ball.

Compliment that human that really has touched you in some point of your life in a good way.

Compliment your spouse. Sometimes you humans don’t express your feelings enough to each other. Maybe if you compliment them, they’ll give you more nuts for the winter.

By all means, compliment your pets. They’re always there for you no matter what, even when you come home upset. They just want to love on you.  They know no hate.

Compliment the guy that cuts you off in traffic this morning. Maybe he won’t hear you but you can smile and wave – with your entire hand not your middle finger – HA!. Maybe instead of uttering fowl language under your breath, think to yourself, “Isn’t he a nice guy for getting in front of me blocking me from any danger.”

Compliment your mother and father – if it wasn’t for them, you wouldn’t be here. Heck, have your spouse compliment them too. If it wasn’t for them, your spouse wouldn’t have you.

Compliment your pups… I mean children. I’m sure they do something else besides being destructive.

Compliment your teacher. Compliment your bus driver or your chauffeur.

While you’re at it – compliment nature and all of its little creatures, like me 🙂 Hey, you can even throw us some extra feed outside, we won’t say no.

You get the drift. You give out compliments and you give a positive sense of well being. You make someone feel great with just a few words. We all know that words can be so destructive. Let’s turn it around today.

I, Journalist Rocky the Squirrel, challenge you. I challenge you to give out a minimum of FIVE compliments today. I bet you can do more but FIVE is a good start. Are you going to take the challenge?

Happy Friday Eve

Hello Bacons friends – happy Friday eve. Bacon is out eating breakfast and left his computer up and running. Insert evil meow.

I thought I would share this picture of myself 🙂 looking into the mirror. Remember, what matters most is how you see yourself. You are wonderful, beautiful on the inside and outside, a great friend and touch a lot of people’s…and animals…lives.

Happy Friday eve and enjoy your Thursday!! Signed – Master Hemi
