Paw Time with Houdini

Oh friends – come closer.  See that toy mom is holding in her little paw?  It will be the death of me.  Mom/dad bought it for me last weekend because I’ve been a good boy and they thought I needed another outlook for all of my energy besides chasing Hemi.  I thought chasing Hemi was just fine but I was wrong.  This toy.. this toy is “it”.

You see it’s like a pyramid and then there’s that amazing tennis ball inside of the pyramid.  I have tried *everything* – and I mean *everything* – to get that ball out of the pyramid.  It mocks me.  I can lick it.  I can put my snout in between the slats and sniff it – even touch it.  But I.can’t.not.get.the.ball.out!

I spent all day the first day walking around with this contraption in my mouth, barking at it, chasing it and demanding for that ball to GET OUT.  But it wouldn’t.  Mom says that the ball is working.  I don’t understand that.  The ball is NOT working.  It won’t get out and play with me.   You just don’t understand the frustration.  Mom even took a video of me with said ball.  You will even see my ‘cave’ under the chaise. I made this cave by pulling the blankie down and moving the ottoman closer.  It’s my private place.  We all need one of those, right?  I hope you see how difficult that ball is being.

Afterwards, make sure you check out Jokes with Daddy.  It’s a classic today.  Thanks my friends!

Paw Time with Houdini

Oh dear friends – I can’t keep my head up.  I’ve been tired all week.  I watched the Puppy Bowl last Sunday and got really into the game.   I barked.  I ran around the front room.  I pounced.  I played.  I wore myself out.  Heck, let alone when mom/dad’s Super Bowl came on television, I could barely keep my head up.  I admit it.  This is me – one tired little puppy.  Daddy said I didn’t miss much from his game and that he had more enjoyment watching me with the Puppy Bowl.  It was fun for sure.

Yawns… I’ve gotta go take another nap.  I’m so tired still!  Enjoy Jokes with Daddy my friends.

Barks!  Hey friends.  How has your week been going?  Do you smell that??  It’s the weekend!  I can finally smell it and trust me, I won’t be kicking anything over on it.  I’m ready for some snuggles and laptime.  And I know mom/dad will both be home Sunday for the big game – the adult Super Bowl.  Of course, I will be catching the Puppy Bowl before that – can’t wait!!  So much fun is going to take place this weekend.

We got the new fridge just in time and it’s filled with goodies for the big day.  Will you be watching too?  Our Atlanta Falcons are playing right here from our backyard.  Mom bought me a jersey that I’m going to wear all day long – you know to support the team.  The goodies are being pre-planned and the electronics are being set.  I’m practicing my “Rise Up” look in this picture.  Can you see it?

Now I leave you with Jokes with Daddy.  Can’t forget about pops today.  Enjoy and have an awesome weekend!!

National Compliment Day

Journalist Rocky the Squirrel here –

“Keeping my paws on the nuts of the world!”

.

.

January 24th, is commemorated as National Compliment Day every year. It is a very special day and celebrated in most parts of the world apart from the USA. This day represents a positive theme – a positive tone in a positive atmosphere – everywhere you are whether it be at home, the grocery market, work or that place the humans feel to punish themselves by what they call “working out”.

Compliments – compliments – compliments – that is what we most do today. Have you ever noticed how someone just brightens up at a compliment, even a complete stranger? Do you notice how much harder you work when you get a compliment? So today, we shall compliment our little hearts out.

So here are some suggestions that can help you today on your National Compliment Day.

Compliment that human that is consistently working out in their hamster ball.

Compliment that human that really has touched you in some point of your life in a good way.

Compliment your spouse. Sometimes you humans don’t express your feelings enough to each other. Maybe if you compliment them, they’ll give you more nuts for the winter.

By all means, compliment your pets. They’re always there for you no matter what, even when you come home upset. They just want to love on you.  They know no hate.

Compliment the guy that cuts you off in traffic this morning. Maybe he won’t hear you but you can smile and wave – with your entire hand not your middle finger – HA!. Maybe instead of uttering fowl language under your breath, think to yourself, “Isn’t he a nice guy for getting in front of me blocking me from any danger.”

Compliment your mother and father – if it wasn’t for them, you wouldn’t be here. Heck, have your spouse compliment them too. If it wasn’t for them, your spouse wouldn’t have you.

Compliment your pups… I mean children. I’m sure they do something else besides being destructive.

Compliment your teacher. Compliment your bus driver or your chauffeur.

While you’re at it – compliment nature and all of its little creatures, like me 🙂 Hey, you can even throw us some extra feed outside, we won’t say no.

You get the drift. You give out compliments and you give a positive sense of well being. You make someone feel great with just a few words. We all know that words can be so destructive. Let’s turn it around today.

I, Journalist Rocky the Squirrel, challenge you. I challenge you to give out a minimum of FIVE compliments today. I bet you can do more but FIVE is a good start. Are you going to take the challenge?

Paw Time with Houdini

img_8622Hello sweet friends!  I hope that you are having a great week.  After 40 something days of no rain, I’m glad to report that my raincoat made it happen this week.  We have gotten bunches and bunches of rain this week.  Mom says she might have to put swimmers on to get to the Jeep if it keeps it up.  Now wouldn’t that be an awesome picture for my blog?  We tried this week to get a family portrait.  Try was the word… can you say three out of five is not bad?  Bacon captured this pic of Hemi and me fighting for dad’s attention.  It turned out pretty well – even if dad wasn’t looking at the camera.  We will definitely keep trying to get the perfect picture.  It’s definitely a work in progress.

And today I leave you with daddy being well daddy.  Hope you enjoy my friends.

Paw Time with Houdini

Hello friends – barks!  How has your week gone so far?  Coming off the awesome Thanksgiving day holiday, we are very well fed here and enjoyed lots of lap time in mom/dad’s laps for sure. In fact, us anipals tried to help mom with everything while she was off of work.  You know the basics like cooking, cleaning, eating and relaxing.  Hey, it’s the least we can do, right?  We also tried to help her – are you ready for this – wrap up presents to be mailed out.  She says we were not much help.  I don’t know what she means by that.  Us anipals have to test these gifts out for our friends.  What kind of friends we would be if these gifts didn’t stand up to our levels.

This is a picture of me earlier this week wearing my raincoat that my Auntie Bev sent me from Australia.  You see, we were at Day 44 with NO rain.  Can you believe that?  I thought if I put on my raincoat and did a bit of a Yorkie Raindance maybe the rain gods would be watching and give us some liquid refreshment.  It must have worked because around Tuesday night/Wednesday morning the sky let go.  We got bunches of water outside.  So much so that mom wouldn’t let me jump in the puddles.  She said I might drown.  Silly mommy huh?

And today, I leave you with something that daddy found while shopping.  You already know it’s going to be good, right?  Enjoy peeps!

Paw Time with Houdini

Hello friends –  How was your week – your Thanksgiving?  We are so full  here at the Hotel Thompson.  But never fear, instead of Black Friday at Petsmart, we will be conducting Operation Wrap and Box.  Slowly but surely, mom is trying to get everything read to be mailed out very soon for Christmas.  It is a process.  Why do you ask?  Because all of us anipals want to help.  So some packages may have some hair from us anipals, maybe one of our lost toys or two – perhaps even a little drool.  Just overlook that pals.  Barks and rolls with puppy laughter.

Be safe my friends in whatever you are doing today.  Our thoughts and hugs go out to you!

Now I leave you with something from daddy – ha!  Enjoy ❤
