Paw Time with Houdini

Hello dear friends – welcome to the end of another week here at the Hotel Thompson.  There’s been a lot going on here at the crib.  Let’s see… first off mom was feeling a little down over last weekend until the beginning of this week.  Personally we all think she was doing too much – that’s why we haven’t visited a lot of blogs this week.  But she has been a bit better in the past couple of days – that’s great!

And her and dad both have been doing really, REALLY good on their new way of eating.  I’m highly impressed with their dedication this week.  Hopefully they will continue… let me rephrase that.  This weekend I will be on them like a shadow to make sure they continue.  What?  Someone has to inspire them, right?

And this is a picture of me playing with one of my all time favorite toys – you do remember Pirate Chicken #3, right?  Barks – daddy tells me I’m choking my chicken every time I make it squeak.  I’m not sure what’s so funny about that but when he says it, he and mom bust out laughing.  Shaking my puppy head – I don’t get it.

But never fear, I leave you today with Jokes with Dad.  Hope you enjoy and have a fantastic weekend!

Hello my friends.  I do hope that your week has been amazing.  Mine has been full of love and fun and food and adventures here at the Hotel Thompson.  Pirate Chicken number three has made an appearance and been given a great play all week long.  I’m happy or is unhappy to report that his squeak still works.  He may have to walk the plank a couple of more times before that subsides.  Barks!  What?  It’s what I do.

This picture was taken this week by mommy.  I’ve been fighting for a lot of lap time this week.  Mommy was able to snap this picture when I had just awakened from a comfortable nap all covered up on her.

Don’t let the pink shirt fool you.  Manly men are starting to wear pink now.  And between me and you – I think I make this pink shirt.  What do you think?

Now without further ado, let’s give daddy his five minutes in the limelight – barks with puppy laughter!

Never Fear Pirate Chicken is Here!

Squeals with puppy delight!  Guess what.  I bet you will never guess.  Guess.  Can you believe this – pirate chicken three is here!  Barks with puppy laughter and runs around the room.  YES pirate chicken!  And look, he even left me a message.  And you know what is amazing?  He sounds like daddy – who knew!!  ♥ Houdini

P.S.  I want you to know that mom just loves that chicken squeak.  After playing it with almost an hour, mom looked at daddy and said, “Who’s idea was this?”

Today let’s talk about one of my favorite toys – Pirate Chicken.  Isn’t he awesome?  He’s plastic and he loves to play.  He’s pretty rugged too which is great in my case.  We play all of the time and trust me – lots of times I make him walk the plank off of the back of mom’s chaise – barks with puppy laughter.

And I have to tell you.  There have been some rough moments in the life of Pirate Chicken.  In fact, he’s been replaced at least twice because of unforeseen early deaths.  You know it happens, right?

Well this week, I have to admit that we have a problem with Mr. Pirate Chicken… again.

It seems that Pirate Chicken has lost a wing and that you can now see his inner squeak which mom says is not good – not good at all.  Therefore with a saddened look on my cute puppy face, I have to let you know that Chicken Pirate has now been buried.  That makes Houdini 3 and Pirate Chicken -0-.

It also means that mom/dad are now on a hunt and find mission for Pirate Chicken #4.  I gotta have a replacement.  Pirate Chicken is like a baby that *needs* that pacifier.  You know what I mean?  So the hunt begins my friends.  I’ll keep you posted.

That’s it for this week my friends – take care and have an awesome weekend!  And don’t worry.  I couldn’t leave you without Jokes from Dad.  I hope you enjoy this one.

Barks my friends!  I do hope your week is going well.  Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite toys.  No, I couldn’t just pick 1 as my favorite so I’m giving you the top 4.  Thankfully mom took all of these pictures at the store when she bought them for me at different times.

First up is tuggin’ tail pig.  Isn’t he awesome? ❤  He reminds me of Bacon somewhat… okay maybe not at all except that he’s a pig – barks!  This one was a neat toy.  You see mom/dad would hold the tail and I would attack the ball in the mouth of the pig… which seems kind of weird because all I could think of was it should have been an apple – ha!

This tuggin’ tail pig was awesome – did you pick that up above?  I played with him and played with him and played with him.  Then one day, the ball broke and the piggy lost his head.  I’m not sure what happened.  I think he spontaneously blew up.  There was white stuff everywhere on the floors of the Hotel Thompson.  But tuggin’ tail pig was a good pig.  I think I had him for about a month – which was good all considering.

Then there was skunk road kill.   He is cool.  He even has tread marks across his belly showing where he has been run over by some vehicle.  He is way cool and guess what – I still have him to toss around my kingdom here.  Can you imagine the creator of this awesome toy?  Riding down the street one day perhaps to work and sees road kill on the side of the road and says to himself, “WOW – that would make a great toy.”  Barks!  I think that would be hilarious.

Have you ever seen such a fantastic skunk?  Of course, he reminds me of Peppy Le Pew but way better now – barks!

What do you think?  Do you see the resemblance?  Sure you do… look for the swooshy tail and white stripes – of course mine has tread marks on it – ha!

Then there is poochy.  He is also awesome – notice his rope legs that attach to his body and have paws at the end.  Mom/dad can hold a leg and I can grab the other legs for a festive tug of war challenge.  He was almost my favorite… notice I said almost.

Poochy is now called Waddles… why?  Because he has no legs.  They were pulled off by another dog… looks innocent.  What?  Isn’t that what he was for?  He still is a good dog.  I play with his body… of course minus the legs now.  I don’t have to worry about him running away from me – barks!  I couldn’t pass that one up my friends.

And he knows his commands like sit and stay.  Double barks.

But this leads us to my all time favorite toy.

Pirate Chicken.  Oh my dogs!  He is so very cool.  You see I had a pirate chicken before.  I loved him.  He squeaks differently and there is just something about that peg leg that drives me crazy.  He got destroyed right before we had the house renovation.

So mom/dad were shopping at the grocery store and finally found me a replacement.  Barks and does happy dance!!  I couldn’t believe that my favorite toy in the entire world was replaced.  I run around the Hotel Thompson with it in my mouth, throwing it up in the air, attacking it and shaking it all around.  It is totally awesome!

I feel like my entire life is complete now with the second coming of pirate chicken.  Do you have any favorite toys that you can’t live without?  Do share my friends.

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!
