Journey with Friends – Week 12

Welcome my friends to our weekly issue of Journey with Friends.  This is a time that we come together for support, for encouragement, for fellowship – all with one single goal in mind – to live better.  Welcome to our journey to share our goals and our accomplishments and our disappointments and frustrations.

Together we can do this!

Sunday, March 19, 2017 –  Today was suppose to be a rest day and in all aspects is was… except for the market shopping, running errands, doing laundry and cleaning the house – LOL.  Funny how those things sneak up on you during the week.  But moving does add up in the end.  Miles Moved: 1.76

Monday, March 20, 2017 – My sister said it would happen.  I would start ‘missing’ my walks.  She was right.  By the time the weekend is over, I’m ready for a walk by myself.  Something about walking by myself gives me time to think about my life and I can somewhat meditate.  It really does help me to relax so I can finish out my day.  Today I ordered me some Lee’s Dream jeans off of their website.  They have reviews that they are the next best thing beside sliced bread.  I finally need to get some new pants.  My current jeans look like a family has moved out in the butt and legs – hasta la vista family don’t come back – giggles. I also ordered some ‘workout’ clothes.  Summer will be here soon enough with the heat.  I will need to change clothes before I walk and then change back.  I foresee it already. And the good news is that I ordered two sizes smaller than I normally wear on everything.  Now I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything fits when it comes in.  Miles Moved: 2.61

Tuesday, March 21, 2017 –  Today was hill day with my walk.  Lord have mercy.  I *hate* hills but my butt and legs love them.  Go figure huh?  And I’m going to tell you something that has never EVER happened before.  Are you ready because this is good.  Takes a deep breath – here it goes.  My boobies are disappearing.  Oh.my.goodness.  I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about that.  They had separate zip codes and I think now they are starting to live in the same city.  I’m beyond excited!  Miles Moved: 2.47

Wednesday, March 22, 2017 –  Okay my Lee yoga jeans came in.  Do I like them?  Do they fit?  YES BY GOLLY ON BOTH ACCOUNTS!  I absolutely ❤ them and they fit but before long they might not.  It’s times like this that you look back and finally feel like this new way of eating is paying off.  These have got to be the most comfortable pair of jeans I’ve ever worn.  I will probably start wearing them next week.  I might even show up to work all decked out in clothes that actually fit wearing heels.  HA – That should be interesting to see if anyone else notices my hard work lately.  Now I’m waiting for my ‘workout’ clothes to come.   Miles Moved: 2.49

Thursday, March 23, 2017 – Today was windy outside again. It was 57 degrees so it wasn’t awfully cold but with the wind it had a little shiver to it… that is until you start walking and getting hot.  So with that, it was perfect walking weather – LOL.  I’m tired today and I didn’t want to do the walk at all.  Most would be good to themselves and do a short walk.  Nah – I forced myself to do the longer walk.  Afterwards I felt so much better.  However, I am looking forward to the weekend for a break.  Miles Moved:2.06

Friday, March 24, 2017 –  I am so glad that today is Friday – I so need this weekend and a break for my ‘ordinary’ schedule.  I just have to get through exercise today and today has hills in it – yay!  LOL.  And I need to do double time since we went out with friends last night.  I may have eating more than I should… such as life huh?  Miles Moved: 2.37

Saturday, March 25, 2017 –  Fun day today – YES!  I’ve needed this for so long.  Me and the hub unit went to the spa together – massages/nails.  I feel somewhat human again.   Miles Moved: 1.49

Thoughts for the week:  It’s so hard to keep doing something when you ‘think’ that it is not working.  I’ve been walking since the first of January.  I started out slow.  I don’t think I did more than 15 minutes at a time then.  Then in February, I jumped in wholeheartedly with 30 minutes.  I kept waiting – not so patiently some times – for something to show and to make a difference.  It took 84 days for me to *finally* see proof.  I mean heck I felt my body changing but we want to see proof too.  You know what I mean?  I’ve always been told, “Find something you can live with and stick to it.”  It has taken me years to find something and I think I have.  I really can say that I can live this way the rest of my life.  Thanks my friends for listening to me this week.  How was YOUR week?

This week walked: 15.25

TOTAL 2017 Miles:  114.64

January Weight Loss:  -12.00 pounds (88 more to go!)

Bacon’s Show and Tell

Welcome my friends to Bacon’s Show and Tell for January.  This month we are talking about something embarrassing that has happened in our life.  It could be something from child hood, adult hood – last week for that matter.

My mom/dad are known for their troublesome ways.  In fact, I do believe that trouble finds them each and every time they leave the Hotel Thompson.  It’s just going to happen.  I’ve accepted that in my piggy life.  So today, I want to share two stories with you on my parents on something embarrassing.

First up – Dad

Now if you have been reading my blog for any length of time you know that dad is a character.  One night dad and mom decided to go out to dinner down the street at a local cafe.  Dad put on some sweats and an old t-shirt, nothing elaborate.  They drove down to the dinner, got out and started to walk to the front door.  The restaurant had windows all along the front of it and you could see inside as well as the people see outside.  Dad went to step up on the walkway and right about that time his pants got tired and fell down to his ankles.  Nothing like dinner and a show huh?  Snorts with piggy laughter.

Second up – Mom

Sweet mom.  Dad’s always picking on her and getting away with it in public places.  You know for two old people, they can be cute this way.  Dad will sometimes sneak a kiss or pat mom on the butt and nobody ever catches him doing it.  One time, mom/dad were at the mall at a store named Macy’s.  They were walking around and mom thought she was going to pat dad on the butt like he does her.  She went and did it.  Well about that time, this elderly lady turns the corner and catches mom right in the action.  Oh dear piggy heavens.  You would have thought with the way the elderly lady acted that she had caught mom grabbing dad’s front side and not his back side.  It was priceless.  Of course, dad walked off leaving mom standing there all embarrassed while said lady gave mom a tongue lashing like you wouldn’t believe.  When mom tried to walk away, the elderly lady followed her telling her that her actions were unladylike and very unbecoming a southern lady.

What the Piggy Heavens is This?!

Okay.  I’m going to be first and tell you I don’t get this.  I really don’t get this.  I’ve heard mom and dad talk about it but until I saw it for myself – shakes piggy head – I just don’t get it.  Me and mom went for a ride in the Smart car and we are riding down the boulevard coming home.  We got stopped at the stop light and mom sees this.  Now trust me, that woman is faster with the camera than I am and she was able to snap a picture.

The guy was walking funny and that was what got both of our attention.  He wasn’t ‘walking’, he was wobbling down the street.  Shuffling back and forth to keep his pants up that were somewhere at the top of his knees.  Strange behavior for a human is what I’m saying.  Then, he tried – and I stress TRIED – to step up on the sidewalk.  What the cream cheese!  That my friends was the funniest sight this piggy has ever imagined or seen.  He couldn’t do it!  He had to literally bend over, hold his pants up and then step up.  Really?

Now me and mom just couldn’t wait to get home and tell everyone about this character.  It was too funny.  I’m so glad mom got a picture because no one would believe this.  *This* is suppose to be the ‘in’ thing to do – the style of the young peeps.  They can have it.  If I had jeans down pass my knees, snorts – I would be rolling places myself.

And of course when mom and dad started talking about it, you wouldn’t believe some of the things that were said.  Never fear though because this little oinker was taking notes. You’re welcome 🙂

  • IF your pants are so low that you have to bend over to hold them up while stepping up, then PULL THEM UP.
  • IF your pants are so low that people see more crack out of your back end than on the streets, then PULL THEM UP.
  • IF your pants are so low that little old ladies mistaken your crack as an ATM machine, then PULL THEM UP.
  • IF your pants are so low that your ‘equipment’ in the front needs an umbrella as to not get wet when it is raining, then PULL THEM UP.

What happens if he has to run?  And you know what.  I would love to meet the person that started this…. and slap him with one of my hooves.

Have you seen this ‘swag’ in your area.  Comments?

Dear Tigerlino and Roxy – SPECIAL ISSUE

Greetings my dear friends!  This week, we have another great and wonderful guest helping us out with my Dear Bacon issue.  This week, my sweet friends Tigerlino and Roxy are stepping in for me to do a special edition of Dear Tigerlino and Roxy.  Be sure to visit them at their blog and check them out – let them know what a great job they did – thanks Tigerlino and Roxy!!

Dear Tigerlino and Roxy,
Uh-oh. This doesn’t appear to be how the humans lay in this contraption. Sparky is underneath checking out what happened. Secretly I think he’s laughing at me. I jumped on top of this trickery and my legs continued south. Can you help a dog out? Signed Stuck

Dear Stuck,
um… we’re not sure what that thing is for but you’re absolutely right… that’s probably not how you use it. But hey, look on the bright side. If you get tired now, you won’t have to lie down to take a nap… you can just hang in there. And yes, it does look as if Sparky is secretely laughing at ya! But maybe you can get even by asking him to join you on that thing??? He won’t be laughing anymore once he’s stuck there too!  As for helping you out… we’re not sure what advice to give you. Hmmm… are you, by any chance, ticklish? Maybe if Sparky tickles your paws, you’ll jump up so high that you’ll fly right out of your trap? On second thought, that’s probably not the best idea. You’d probably fall right back down on that thing and get stuck again. But don’t despair, buddy… we’re trying to figure something out, okay? So just hang on…xoxo Tigerlino & Roxy

Dear Tigerlino and Roxy,
Do you know what is more fun than rolling around in the mud? Of course it would be playing in a bundle of straw. I love hiding in the straw and then jumping out snorting to humans that pass my way. Some of them can jump pretty high. Have you ever done this? Signed Pop Goes the Piggy

Dear Pop Goes the Piggy,
We’ve never done this before but it sounds like a lot of fun! Do you think that works with dogs too? We’d love to give the neighbor’s dogs a fright. Do you think they can jump as high as the humans? Or even higher??? 😉  xoxo Tigerlino & Roxy

Dear Tigerlino and Roxy,
Oh it’ll be fun he said. Just look over the edge at the crawly thing. You can’t possibly get hurt. Yep those were his last words before he pushed me over the edge like Humpty Dumpty. How can I get even. Can you help me out with that? Signed Too Close to the Edge

Dear Too Close to the Edge,
Why that little traitor! Let’s give him a taste of his own medicine. Why don’t you tell him that that crawly little thing was in fact a super yummy tuna treat and that you have found even more of them hidden in a mound?! And that you’d be happy to lend a helping *cough cough* pushing *cough cough* paw to explore the mound (housed by angry fire ants just waiting to take him on for disturbing their home…) How about that?! 😉  xoxo Roxy & Tigerlino

Dear Tigerlino and Roxy,
Don’t you love my new shirt? You want one don’t you? Signed Bark Humor

Dear Bark Humor,
Oh My Gosh! Why are you not wearing any pants? Did the cat rip them apart? Or did you lose them in a poker game or something? But hey, don’t worry! If you smile big enough, no one will notice that you’re… um… nude… down there…  xoxo Roxy & Tigerlino

P.S. Where can we get one of those shirts???

Dear Tigerlino and Roxy,
Meow. That should fix the humans for not giving me any snacks before they went to bed. Just wait until they go to potty now. Meow. Signed Payback

Dear Payback,
Yep, that’s purrfect… for a start. You could also shred the drapes, or the couch, or the carpet, or the wallpaper. And if the humans have a fit, tell them that you were just doing a little redecorating. Nothing wrong with that, right?  Oh, and you could also put a nice hairball on the human’s pillow…that’s pretty fun too! If you need more advice on how to get even with the humans, just let us know. Our „Get Even with the Humans Revenge List“ is endlessly long and getting longer as we speak…Have fun, sweetie! Meow!  xoxo Tigerlino & Roxy
