Paw Time with Houdini

Hello friends – barks!  How has your week gone so far?  Coming off the awesome Thanksgiving day holiday, we are very well fed here and enjoyed lots of lap time in mom/dad’s laps for sure. In fact, us anipals tried to help mom with everything while she was off of work.  You know the basics like cooking, cleaning, eating and relaxing.  Hey, it’s the least we can do, right?  We also tried to help her – are you ready for this – wrap up presents to be mailed out.  She says we were not much help.  I don’t know what she means by that.  Us anipals have to test these gifts out for our friends.  What kind of friends we would be if these gifts didn’t stand up to our levels.

This is a picture of me earlier this week wearing my raincoat that my Auntie Bev sent me from Australia.  You see, we were at Day 44 with NO rain.  Can you believe that?  I thought if I put on my raincoat and did a bit of a Yorkie Raindance maybe the rain gods would be watching and give us some liquid refreshment.  It must have worked because around Tuesday night/Wednesday morning the sky let go.  We got bunches of water outside.  So much so that mom wouldn’t let me jump in the puddles.  She said I might drown.  Silly mommy huh?

And today, I leave you with something that daddy found while shopping.  You already know it’s going to be good, right?  Enjoy peeps!

Paw Time with Houdini

Hello friends –  How was your week – your Thanksgiving?  We are so full  here at the Hotel Thompson.  But never fear, instead of Black Friday at Petsmart, we will be conducting Operation Wrap and Box.  Slowly but surely, mom is trying to get everything read to be mailed out very soon for Christmas.  It is a process.  Why do you ask?  Because all of us anipals want to help.  So some packages may have some hair from us anipals, maybe one of our lost toys or two – perhaps even a little drool.  Just overlook that pals.  Barks and rolls with puppy laughter.

Be safe my friends in whatever you are doing today.  Our thoughts and hugs go out to you!

Now I leave you with something from daddy – ha!  Enjoy ❤

Pay it Forward

Okay Friends – Here We Go!

My sweet friends at Nikitaland have started this monthly issue of Pay It Forward.  We asked for you to keep this in mind all month and to share things here today on what you have been able to do.  Paying it forward is not for bragging purposes – it’s an attempt to show how many different things we can do to pay it forward – lots of them don’t even include money.  Gestures that we take for granted may be a God send to another person.

.

.

This month mom didn’t buy anyone’s meal at all.  She didn’t buy any toys for anyone  She didn’t even send out any anonymous gifts.  So you are probably asking yourself what did she do.  I’m proud to tell you that she listened.  She made it a point to visit several elderly people that she knows throughout the month and sat with them just listening.  Listening to their childhood stories.  Listening to their dreams.  Listening to what they did for a living. Listening to war stories.  Are you asking how this is a Pay it Forward?  There are so many people out there that either don’t live close to their family or their family has a family and they don’t visit often enough with all of the day to day errands.  Sometimes the best way to pay something forward is listening to stories of the past.  Can you imagine how mom’s friends felt after she visited listening to them?  How they laughed and got to remember happy times and adventures.  When was the last time that you just listened?

My buddy Nikitaland made up a good deeds sheet.  You can get it here.  You can print it, hang it on your fridge and just jot some things down that you do during the month.  That way at our next meet up, you can share what you have done to PAY IT FORWARD.

AND if you are interested in getting some Pay it Forward bracelets, check out Nikitaland’s post here for ordering information.  Believe me friends – WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Next meet up will be November 4, 2015 – mark your calendars!

Mom *always* tries to buy a breakfast for someone during the month at a drive thru.  This month was no different.  She bought breakfast for a nice woman behind her one morning.  She also leaves one of my business cards with a note, “Have a great day and pay it forward.”

This month also while dining out at a local restaurant, they were taking donations for St. Jude’s Hospital.  Mom/dad both gave some money for that wonderful cause.  While dining out at this restaurant, mom had an old friend that came and met them.  They also picked up the tab for their friend.

And let’s not forget that a co-worker of mom’s is selling cookies for their son.  Mom bought some for their cause and trust me – she will enjoy the cookies when they come in 🙂

Mom also filled up a co-worker’s Jelly belly stash on their desk without them knowing 🙂

And mom was able to finally send out some packages for me to some friends here in blogville.  Two out of the four have received them.  We are still waiting on acknowledgement from two.  Why?  Some had birthdays and we wanted to be part of it and say I love you and some were just because we love you.  You never know here at the Hotel Thompson who is going to receive a package from this oinker 🙂

Paw Time with Houdini

Barks!  Another week down and YAY! for the upcoming weekend my friends.  I hope all of you had an outstanding week.  Mom is finally back up to feeling better – we are so glad here at the Hotel Thompson.  Don’t you just hate it when the mommy is feeling bad?  Bacon finally got her persuaded to send off some gift packages this week too.  Hopefully they will be arriving in the next couple of weeks.  We had a great Going Away Party for Bashful and Chip before he sailed off to places unknown for their next adventure.  Where or where will they land?

Last week I told you about mommy taking me to a new groomer.  I went last Saturday and it’s great to report that I loved it!  Usually I have a little bit of mommy anxiety when she leaves me or I can’t see her.  But the day of my new groom visit, she dropped me off and not one little whimper or bark out of me.  Not one.  See, I was a big dog.

This picture of me to the left wearing my green shirt was my “before” picture.  Can you believe that I had just been groomed by my old groomer like three weeks before?  You can’t even tell!  I like to have the shorter hair because that way my shirts and other clothes fit better.

So mom, dropped me off at my new groomer shop called Poodles by Bob (who by the way does all kinds of dogs – not just poodles) and picked me up after running some errands.  Below you will see my “after” pictures.  I think they did a fantastic job, don’t you?  I especially like how they layered my legs so that my fur doesn’t get all tangled with my clothes.

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Shopping, Weekend, Pet Rocks and Such

Oh my sweet friends – I hope you had a wonderful LONG weekend – a happy one with lots of rest and relaxation.  I did – snorts – but I can’t say the same for my humans.  You see, my humans have been slackers lately.  There I said it and they know it’s true.  Mom has been playing catch up with so many things that she has been juggling in her life.  Finally, I had to sit her down this weekend and have a human to piggy talk with her.  She has to catch up… like NOW.  So Saturday, I made her finish doing some shopping for me.  I have so many things to get sent out… you know a piggy has to put his hoof down, right?

But first up – I think I have forgotten something to post about Bashful.  I’m sure some of you saw where when he came back from Australia this past time he had a son named Chip.   Who can deny that parentage with the matching grin, huh?  You can check the post out here of when Bashful came home. He had a ball in Australia visiting Fozzie while they went on vacation to the Great Barrier Reef.  But they also found out about Bimby having his baby out of wedlock when they did the movie “Rockadile Dundee”.  Long story short, Bimby went into rehab (bless her heart) and Bashful signed paperwork taking custody of his son Chip.  Chip was just a mere baby when he came home here to the Hotel Thompson so we’ve had to get him through the diaper stage – unbelievable how much water a little rock can make my friends.  Shakes piggy head.

And of course when Bashful came home, not only did he have his son Chip but he also came home with Hudson.  See, I don’t believe I posted about this.  It’s been so crazy here at the Hotel Thompson over the past several months!  Hudson is adorable, isn’t he?  All the way from Australia and what a cute little accent.  He has been hanging out here with the other pet rocks and has a cute little chemistry with Rockelle who is also from Australia – who would have guess huh?.

You see I’m telling you all of this because I *finally* got mom to get all of my shopping done so that we could send out not only Bashful but his son Chip to the next person on the list.  So you see this bag to the right?  There are four envelopes in that bag that got mailed out this morning from the good ole United States Postal Service.  One of them contain Bashful and Chip.

Three other envelopes are gifts for different friends in blogville.  Just who will receive them?  What do they contain?  Aren’t you excited to see what goes where and who gets what?  I know!  The anticipation is killing this little oinker.  I just hope mom remembered to pack everything I told her and to sign the cards – snorts.  Wouldn’t that be hilarious?  Maybe not… maybe I need to go ask her to double check.

.

And of course after mommy finished going to the post office, filling out Customs declarations and spending money, she just had to come back to a nice gooey ooey Salted Pecan cupcake.  She said that was her payment for standing in line and filling our forms for me.  Sure mom – that’s fine.  As long as you got my packages out – knock yourself out.

Snorts and oinks my friends.  I’ll definitely keep you posted on the travels of my packages 🙂

I Wonder

IMG_0300.JPG

Mom just called me from the post office. I’m so excited. She finally mailed all of my packages today. There was EIGHT. Can you believe that?

EIGHT of my friends out there will soon be receiving something from this little oinker. Are you excited? I know I am. I can’t wait to see the smiles and hear the comments.

Evil snorts. That’s right. I said evil snorts. Some of you might not think the packages are so good once you see what is inside.

Now are you intrigued? Snorts.
