One Lovely Blog Award

I’m so behind these days!  My friends at Diary of a Quirky Girl gave me this award on 08/30/2014.  Trust me, I am *always* excited to get awards of any kind.  And I can’t thank you my friends enough!  I’m sorry that it has taken me a bit to get to this.  08/30/2014 was also the day that we adopted Houdini so we’ve been a little tied up on puppy duty lately – snorts.

But without further delay, let’s talk about this award – One Lovely Blog Award.  As part of accepting this award, I must tell you seven things about myself, some you might possibly not know.  Here are my seven:

1. I like to joke around.  I really do.  Life is way too serious.  Let’s stop, laugh or snort for a few minutes every day.  And hey, if I make you laugh or snort so much you make water, so be it.  My job is done – snorts.
2. I ❤ television.  A couple of years ago for Christmas, mom and dad got me my very own flat screen for my bedroom.  I ❤ it!  Some of my favorite shows to watch (in no particular order) are:  Felix the Cat, Mighty Mouse, Scooby Doo, Green Acres, Animal Planet and the Sci-Fi channel.  I love me some Joe Kendall of Homicide Hunter – snorts.
3. I’m mom’s sous chef in the kitchen in the evenings.  When she is cooking the family dinner, I stand by her side tasting samples.  You know just to make sure they are acceptable for dinner.
4. I *hate* the feel of grass on my hooves.  That’s right.  I said it.  I hate the feel of grass on my hooves.  I can’t stand it.  It’s a texture thing.  It’s gross.  Enough said.
5. I sleep with mom and dad from time to time.  On the Select Comfort bed, I’m a 65.
6. I snore.  Okay maybe not as loud as daddy but I snore.  What?  It doesn’t bother me – snorts.
7. Since the adoption of Houdini here at the Hotel Thompson, I have been known to have a kinder side.  At times when no one is looking, I will let Houdini treat me like his personal jungle gym and climb all over me.  He’s a little guy.  Sometimes I will even let him bite me and act as if he is beating me up.  So that way he thinks he’s bigger than what he is.  I know.  I’m a softy.

Spies Like Us – 1st Set of Nominations

OMP (oh my pigs)!  When me and my buddy Fozzie opened up this contest, I don’t think we thought we would get such AWESOME pictures.  We want to say thank you so very much my friends for all of the submissions for Spies Like Us.  All I can say is WOW!  We knew *we* could do it.  We knew *we* could catch our humans in the most strangest of all predicaments.  AND WE WERE RIGHT.  Our fellow anipals – ya’ll did an excellent job.  I mean EXCELLENT.  I’m going to break down the submissions into two days – today and tomorrow  Remember to share this posting on your blog with your friends so they can vote on MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2014.

Submission 1 – Can you guess which one of our friends dressed up like Boy George during their day and strutted their stuff?  Can you?  Submission 1 was submitted by Sherri-Ellen – you know Nylablue’s mommy.  Isn’t this awesome?  I wonder if she sang Karma Chameleon while she was dressed up like Boy George?  Or maybe it was I’ll Tumbe 4 Ya.  Do you remember the name of the band that Boy George was in?  If you said Culture Club – you would be right!  Just like we thing Sherri-Ellen was right on the money dressed up in this outfit.  Way to go my friend!!

Submission 2 –  We know the humans do weird things in their day grooming themselves.  Easy was able to catch his mother with her hair up – literally.  Then mom had Easy’s undivided attention – was it the hair?  Was it the sweet talking to Easy?  Was it the scratching of his neck?  Who knows – but thanks to Easy for snapping this wonderful picture of his human!  Oh, and you are actually wondering what was in her hair?  Per Easy, it was the board rolls that you find inside of toilet paper.  Easy’s mom said that her fur is too long for common hair curlers.  What do you know – maybe that’s all the new style now?  Who would have thought that?

Submission 3 – OMP (oh my pigs!)  Speedy definitely got the scoop on my little tyke – the international rolling stone Bashful.  Speedy said he was absailing.  That rock sure does get into a lot of weird predicaments doesn’t he?  In fact, it kind of looks like he’s bungee jumping.  Snorts – way to go Speedy!

Submission 4 – Do you recognize this human partaking in Gravy Bones?  Note to humans – that’s *our* food.  You can’t have it okay.  Snorts – this submission was from Misaki of his mother getting into his Gravy Bones.  I wonder what she thought of them.  Were the good?  Chewy?

I might to put some of these on mom’s grocery list for the market so I can try some – licks piggy lips.  Awesome photo!

Submission 6 – Oh dear piggy heavens.  I had to submit this one of my strange human daddy.  I don’t know what he was doing in the driveway.  Maybe it was his rendition of John Travolta dancing.  I don’t know.  Shakes piggy head.  He was rocking that orange though wasn’t he?  Maybe he was pointing to something flying in the sky over the Hotel Thompson?  Maybe it was a bird, a plane, or maybe me Super Piggy?  Oops, sorry I digress.  Let me get back on track.

Inner Peace Award

Squeal! Happy piggy dance – shake it to the left – shake it to the right – I’m so excited!! Angel Whisper gave me this award last week on 05/20/2014.  Isn’t it awesome?!  So unique and lovely!!  Thank you so much my kind sweet friends!

The only ‘rule’ for this award is to write a short piece on why you are accepting it.  That’s easy enough so here I go.

Life is too short.  Life is too short to be stressed…to be worried… to be depressed.  There’s one way to overcome all of that.  Laugh.  Laughter brings inner peace and smile to your face.  If I make one person smile… or pee in their pants a little with laughter… then my job is well done.

My piggy tail is wagging so much that I can’t contain it.  I am *that* excited.  I’m running around my room barking and I just have to get my thoughts together so I can hoove out this reply.  Dad heard me barking and had to come check on me.  When I told him about it, he was thrilled too!  He let me call mommy at the worky place to tell her about it.  She was so proud of her little oinker!

SEVEN FACTS ABOUT LITTLE OLE ME – BACON

1.  I’m a huge snuggle pig.  Some people have lap kitties – mom has those too but she also has a lap piggie. 🙂 There is nothing more that I like to do than to snuggle with mommy.  It doesn’t matter where.  On the couch, in my bed, in her bed – anywhere.  At times, I still crawl up in her lap and she rocks me and sings me to sleep like she did when I was a baby. 

2.  Mom puts me to bed at night just like a child.  We go in my room, she sits with me and tells me a bed time story or sings to me.  Sometimes she rocks me and sometimes she tucks me in my bed for my story.  I’m an attention hog and this is something mommy has done since she adopted me at three weeks.  I know.  I’m spoiled like that at the Hotel Thompson.

3.  I have my own room at the Hotel Thompson.  In fact, it’s actually the master bedroom at the house – snort.  And trust me, I *know* it’s my room.  It has all of my stuff in it like my bed, my potty patch, my toys (which are somehow all shaped like pigs – figure that), a safety crate, my laptop and a flat screen television.  What?  A pig has to have entertainment. 

4. I love – let me change that – absolutely LOVE – all food.  Mom is forever letting me try all kinds of different things to expand my food experience.  There has only been one thing in my 15 months that I really do not like – Kumquats.  Kumquats are meant to be eaten skin and all.  When you eat them, you get kind of a sweet and sour taste.  Mom’s friend told her that her piggies love them.  Well, this little piggy didn’t care for the sweet and sour experience.  Of all of the times mom didn’t have a camera ready, she missed the best opportunity.  My ears went back so fast when I bit into one that I think I heard wind blow through them.  Shivers just thinking of it!

5.  I am a sucker for Animal Crackers.  I will do anything you want and say. 

6.  I speak human.  I have learned things over the months and know phrases like:  “Go to your room”; “Bedtime”; “Go potty”; “Get ready for bed”; “Get on the couch”; “Come here”; “Go see Daddy”; and “Don’t eat the cats” (this one is highly frowned upon in this establishment).  I also know how to play ball.

7.    With dad’s help, I call mommy at work every day at 3:00PM when I get up from my afternoon nap.  I think it helps mom get through the rest of her day.  Cause we all know, a happy mommy is a loving mommy!
