New Years Tradition

There’s a yearly tradition that we do here at the Hotel Thompson that I thought I would share.  It’s nothing difficult, really simple if you will.  Mom/dad have done this for years and as they say, “If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it!”  I thought I would share with my friends here in blogville because one can never have too much of good luck, right?

On the 31st of December before midnight, place money outside on your porch.  It can be a loose bill, change, or in an envelope.  This stays on your front porch.  Before midnight, everyone goes outside of the house.

At midnight, you open the front door and throw the money in over the threshold.  This should be the first thing that crosses your door.  This represents money coming into your home for the new year.  Remember, you don’t step into the home until after the money goes in.

I’m not sure where mom/dad got this from but they have been doing it forever.  I mean heck, we’ll take all of the help from everywhere we can, right?  Happy money tossing tonight my friends 🙂

Happy Friday My Friends!

Happy Friday!!  We made it through the first week of the year to the first Friday.  Hopefully, most of the holidays are behind us now and we can start the year off with fun and chuckles.  I don’t know about ya’ll, but I am still trying to get rest from Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.  It’s time for this little oinker to take some major power naps this weekend and snuggle time with mom.

I saw this funny when I was staying up late New Years Eve.  That was a *LONG* night.  Usually I’m in bed by 10PM but mom/dad let me stay up to watch the fireworks.  We had a blast.

I couldn’t pass up this funny – hope you enjoy it.  I’m thinking of suggesting it to Hemi and Mouse Girl, the purr things here at the Hotel Thompson.  I’m off to put on my Sumo wrestling outfit now.  Happy fighting – snorts.

New Years Eve

20121231-205402.jpg

Mommy came home from the worky place so excited tonight. While she was cooking dinner, she told me some fascinating things like tonight is the last holiday of the year. Geez I missed all of these special days being so young! She then explained that after tonight, we start a whole new year repeating the months we just finished. When it’s explained like that, I understand.

With the holiday being tonight, mom told me that I could stay up late…if I make it. Yawn – I’m already so tired. You know it’s hard having a full day like I do around the house keeping daddy and the purr things in line.

If I stayed up, Mom said that I would get to see magic in the sky. I’m not sure what she means by that and she wouldn’t explain. She only told me that I had to see it to believe it. I guess I’ll have to trust her. She hasn’t led me astray yet in my short privileged life 🙂

Our yearly tradition is to stay up late, make popcorn and watch the big peach drop on television that is downtown Atlanta, Georgia. I’m down with that by being all comfy on the couch with mom. Right now I’m watching LSU and Clemson play on television and posting from my iPad. (I got dad off it long enough from playing his Star Wars Angry Birds to do this post – thanks dad!)

Do you have any traditions tonight? Mom says we will do our New Years Resolutions tomorrow. That should be fun. I’m so excited to be able to enjoy these holidays this year.

Well, if I don’t hear from you tonight, happy New Year and I’ll talk to you next year – snort LOL
