Boo! Scariest Movie

Oh my friends.  Let’s do a twist today.  Let’s see if you can scare me for a change.  Mom/dad were sitting the living room last night with us anipals.  The room was dark except for the flames of the fireplace.  They were talking about movies they have seen over the years that scared them silly.  Conversation went back and forth until they settled on two.

Dad’s Movie Pick – 1408.  This movie came out in 2007 and started John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson.  You see John Cusack’s character was a so called ‘ghost hunter’.  He went to famous places and would spend the night in haunted rooms.  Most of the time, nothing happened and the places were debunked.  But then while writing his latest book, he travels to New York to stay at the Dolphin Hotel in room 1408, a haunted room.  In fact, it was so haunted that the hotel would not rent the room to anyone.  Through lawyers, he finds out that if the room is vacant, the hotel has to rent it so he makes a reservation to stay.  He checks in and meets with the hotel manager, played by Samuel L. Jackson. Jackson tries everything he can to persuade Cusack’s character not to stay in the room – a room upgrade, expensive booze and even will allow Cusack to look at a book he has made showing over 50 deaths in room 1408.  But in the end, Cusack stays in 1408.  Let’s just say that 1408 is everything you can imagine it to be.

Mom’s Movie Pick – House on Haunted Hill.  This movie came out in 1999.  Mom/dad will usually go to the movies to see comedy’s but for some reason, they saw this movie in the theater.  Don’t ask me why because it’s not like them.  Mom actually watched part of the movies with her hands covering her eyes.  At one time, she even told daddy that she might have to leave – that’s how scared she was.  The entire movie is about a millionaire who offers a diverse group of people $1,000,000 to spend the night in a haunted house with a horrifying past.  “nuff said before I make water from being scared.

So my question to you my friends, what is the one movie that you saw that scared your pants off?

Let’s talk food my friends – barks!  Who doesn’t like food, right?  Well last week mom started something new here at the Hotel Thompson.  Something amazing that all of us anipals and daddy including are enjoying.  What you ask?  She is cooking more!  Can you do a little happy dance?

One night this week, mom fixed homemade Chinese food – it included stir fry rice, noodles, snow peas, carrots and little pieces of steak.  Can you say delicious?  And of course this little puppy wanted a taste – who wouldn’t?

So I begged asked mom for a taste.  After pitiful staring she enjoyed some, she shared with me.  And of course not just by putting some in a bowl.  No, of course not.  She fed me with chopsticks.  Daddy said I was spoiled like that.  All I know is that mom clicked those magical sticks and I opened my mouth in anticipation of what was to come.  And wonderful food it was!

So my friends.  Have you had Chinese food?  Barks with puppy laughter.  Have an awesome week dear friends!

Hello dear friends – Barks!  How has your week been?  Mine well what can I say – life as a spoiled pooch is always fabulous.  I want to talk about puppy caves this week.  You know what they are, right?  It’s kind of like a man cave but for me a mere puppy ready to take over the world.  And where is my perfect cave?  Under mom’s chaise of course.  It’s the perfect place!  You see, it’s by the wall, I have brought my puppy necessities under it – you know like my special pillow, my blanket and my favorite toys.  And let’s not forget about the things that I find around the house that catch my eye – they have to come up under here too.  There’s one way under and one way out.  And you don’t see the sign that says, “NO CATS”.  If mom can’t find me and I’m not following her around, she knows where I’ll be – in my puppy cave.  Dad’s kind of jealous because I think he wants one too.  But I found this cave first so it’s all mine.  Do you have a cave my friends or a special hiding place?

And of course, I leave you with Jokes with Daddy.  Enjoy sweet ones!

Yawns – hello my sweet dear friends.  I hope that you have had a wonderful week.  Just think – we are almost at the weekend!  Hallelujah!

You know I want to talk about being a little guy.  You know sometimes we have it hard.  We have to walk twice as much because well you know for obvious reasons we have a shorter stride with our short legs.  And we have to jump twice as high because well you know our limitations in our short stature.  You see, that’s why I’m dog tired and passed out in this picture that Bacon took.  My work is hard here at the Hotel Thompson.

I kind of compare myself to Kevin Hart.  You know the comedian.  He’s like what 4’9″ so he can relate to me and my limitations.

Speaking of Kevin Hart – barks with laughter don’t you love how I got here? – mom/dad went and saw a fabulous movie last weekend for mom’s birthday.  It had Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson.  You do know who Dwayne Johnson is, right?  Think the Rock – hubba hubba.  That’s mom’s words not mine – barks!  The movie was called Central Intelligence.  Mom/dad said they laughed so hard and it was an awesome movie.  So if you need a good laugh, go catch a cheap matinee.

Now without further ado, I leave you with Jokes with Daddy.  Have an awesome weekend my friends!

My Parents are Weird

Bet you didn’t know that, huh?  Snorts – sure you did.  My humans were dropped on their heads too much as children.  In fact, I think they probably fell off the back of several pick up trucks while growing up.  This past weekend, they decided to go to the movies before having our “family meeting”.  What a joke that was but you know about that already and I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about that soon.  So all goes well.  Mom has been wanting to see the movie Jurassic World.  She loves all of those movies but she wanted to wait until the hoopla died down a bit so the theater wouldn’t be overly crowded.  Good plan huh?

So they went and mom gets her favorite treat – popcorn – while dad goes for his favorite – nachos and cheese.  Can these two agree on anything – snorts?  So there they were watching the gazillion previews and trailers for up and coming new movies.  Rolls piggy eyes.  Mom said by the time the previews got over, she turned to daddy and said, “What are we watching today?”  Isn’t that how it is though?  That’s why I insist on watching movies at home in my bedroom.  I can stop and pause for potty breaks and popcorn in the comfort of my toddler bed.  Snorts.

But there they were chowing down and waiting for the movie to start.  That’s when mom said it happened.  Mom said that one of dad’s nacho and cheese chips ‘jumped’ in the middle of her popcorn bag.  What?  How did that happen, right?  That’s when daddy said he ‘might have’ had some help with it.  Really daddy?  I’m shocked.

So he picked up some popcorn on his nacho and cheese and said it was delicious.  Mom tried one and said it was really good.  Thus that started the Nachos-cheese-popcorn party before the movie.  Rolls piggy eyes.  Those two are so easily amused.

The movie then started and for the next two hours they were quiet.  Mom said the movie was outstanding.  Dad said it was great.  There were ups and downs and you have to be kidding me situations.  But overall, they highly recommended it.  Afterwards they came home and that’s when it happened.  I think daddy brought someone home with him.  Of course mommy was like, “Can we keep him”.  All I gotta say is he’s not staying in my bedroom!
