Travels in the South

Hello my sweet friends.  Have I got a treat for you!  You’ve been told that we had guests this past week – and trust me – it was a LOT of fun for sure.  Just like sharing my Travels to Israel with you last month, now we will be doing an edition of Travels in the South with our friends.  Yep, nods head, mom/dad did that much with our friends.

Okay you are saying, “Fine pig, who visited then?”  Well, you have to wait no more.  Do you know Shoko and Kali from Canadian Cats?  Well their mom/dad (Jean and Bill) visited Atlanta and my mom/dad got to play with them – snorts with piggy laughter.  And I will tell you one thing my friends.  I’ve seen some of their pictures on the ‘cloud’.  All I have to say is OMP!  It was a hoot!

So they got here late Wednesday 2/17/2016.  My mom had a ‘friend’ pick them up special from the airport.  Snorts – you’ll have to read about that from Jean and Bill cause it was a special pick up indeed.  The friend brought Jean and Bill to mom’s office where mom gave them a quick tour of the facility before taking them to check in at their hotel.  Afterwards, mom went home and got dad so they could go out for dinner (one of many fun times).

They decided to go to a local restaurant called Red Lobster.  Knowing that Jean and Bill had been traveling all day, mom wanted to make sure they were well fed so they could get some sleep.

Jean and Bill both got Garlic Grilled Shrimp which were huge (you can see some in the picture).  Although, as a side dish Bill got Bourbon Pecan Sweet Potatoes – you know something of the south which we love here.

Jean got the side dish of Creamy Langostino Lobster Mashed Potatoes which also happens to be one of mom’s favorites.  They were delicious but we didn’t take a picture – can you imagine that?  It was creamy mashed potatoes topped with lobster pieces and mom said she thought she heard angels sing when they were delivered to the table cause they are that good – snorts.

One thing that mom/dad said that Jean and Bill *had* to try was lobster pizza as an appetizer.  And mom just happened to have a coupon for one – go mom.  Now, it is something that you have to wrap your mind around but once you do – OMP – they say it is wonderful… not that I would know because none of it has ever made its way to me.  Just sayin’.

It comes out on a thin crust and it’s hot from the oven.  You kind of have to give it a moment to set up before getting a slice.  If not, it just goo’s all over the place.  What did Bill and Jean think of the lobster pizza?

Well I think it was a winner from looking at this picture.  What do you think?

And don’t worry – Jean found something else that she had never tried before – Lobster Bisque.  Jean and daddy had a bowl and there were pieces of Langostino lobster in the soup as well.

Daddy said that he had never seen so much lobster in the bowl before. Maybe that was because mom/dad had their favorite waitress Lexus waiting on them?  Who knows – it was delicious!

Now join us next week to find out what everyone did the next day of their visit – you definitely don’t want to miss it!

️Houdini the Beast

Snorts!  With the uproar going on here at the Hotel Thompson, some of our schedules have been a little out of order.  Take for instance little Houdini.  Usually mom puts him to bed around 8:30-9:00PM.  The other night, her and dad were busy cleaning something out.  The little man went to his bedroom and proceeded to bring his bedroom bed – little lobster – to the front room.

He pulled and pushed little lobster out of his room and down the hallway.  I was on the sofa and heard the little guy grunting and groaning.

.

I grabbed mom’s iPhone and started clicking pictures as soon as I saw him turn the corner.  Look at him go!

He was persistent and would flip the little lobster over and then drag it some more.  And then he would push it some more.  He was a machine!

.

He was like “Don’t mind me – little doggy coming through here.”

 ..

.
He went around all obstacles in his way including daddy’s tray and leg.  Nothing was slowing him down.  Yeah – I could have helped the pup out but I wanted to see how far he was going with little lobster in his travels.

He passed the table, grunted and groaned.  Looked around and did what I have to say is the cutest thing for a puppy.  He was like if mom/dad aren’t going to put me to bed and go to bed themselves guess what?  I’m going to do it myself and be in the middle of everything because you know something might happen that I need to know about.

.

And there you go.  He curled up in little lobster, said his nightly prayers and passed out.  I have to admit that the little guy does sleep like an angel.  He didn’t even put on his pajamas.  What a trooper huh?

When mom came back in the room she was look WOW – he’s so smart.  He put his ownself to bed.  Then she shook her head and looked at his huge Kong bed that stays in the front room.  Asleep on the Kong bed was Mouse Girl.  The little guy didn’t want to wake up Mouse Girl so he got his own bed.

aaww – you gotta love the little guy, right?

Doggy Daycare

IMG_0524.JPG

Let me introduce you to the cute little poochie in the picture.  This is Tinkerbell.  She is Nana’s doggy.  Gorgeous and cute huh?  She weighs around 9-10 pounds.  Maybe just as spoiled as us anipals here at the Hotel Thompson – snorts.  And of course you see Houdini in the picture to the left.  Just goes to show you exactly how small the little tyke really is.

This picture was taken by mommy at Nana’s house.  We all take turns going up at Nana’s and spending the day – kind of like Nana Daycare 🙂  We all ❤ it.  It’s so much fun.  We get to run and play with Tinkerbell and spend time with Nana.

IMG_0784.JPG

The past couple of times that Houdini has been though something weird has happened.  Calm down – no need to call the authorities yet.  You see, when Houdini comes home he is worn out!  I mean so much that he walks in, kisses mom and dad hello, gives us anipals high fives and then crashes HARD.  You don’t believe me?  Look at this picture.  Notice the legs in front.  They are standing straight out!  He is that tired!

And talk about abuse and being unloved.  Look at that bed he is made to sleep in and all of those minions there that he dragged to his bed to protect him at night.  So abused.

So tell me my friends.  What is going on at Nana’s?  When mom asked Nana do you know what she told her?  “What happens at Nana’s, stays at Nana’s” – snorts and rolls with laughing.  We are not saying a word!

Dear Bacon

Dear Bacon,20140217-042346.jpg

Let this be a warning to your readers.  Don’t smoke.  I was suppose to be an awesome lobster.  But I started smoking when I was younger therefore I stayed as a crawfish.  Snap, I was that close.  Signed Shorty

Dear Shorty,
Great heads up to our younger readers.  Thank you for sharing your story my friend.  Stay strong and be proud of who you are.

Have you ever been out on the town with some bun-bun’s?  We would show you a great time in our pink Corvette! Signed Trio of Fun

Dear Trio of Fun,
Awesome!  The next time you are cruising through my town, stop by and see me.  It would be awesome to drive around in your pink Corvette!

It’s like this.  I really thought I saw a Milk Bone in the middle of the cushions.  I dived in without thinking.  Probably not one of my best ideas but hey it works, not.  Signed Tails Up

Dear Tails Up,
Just have to ask my friend.  Did you find the Milk Bone?  How long were you left in that position?  It does look interesting.  I don’t think I could personally do that.  Darn this pot-belly, snorts.  But hey, if it works for you and you got the gold, then it was an awesome free dive.  Take care my friend and keep chasing Milk Bones.

Dear Bacon,20140217-042459.jpg

There’s no denying the family in this picture.  I was tired being the master cat so I took a nap.  The next thing I knew, my mini-me was right beside me in the same position.  I think he’s a a chip off the old block, you think?  Signed Copy Cat

Dear Copy Cat,
AAWWW – that is so adorable.  A family that sleeps together, stays together.  Ya’ll are so cute and comfy.  I wonder if I can get into that position.  I’m off to try it.  I’ll let you know.  Sweet dreams!

.

Dear Bacon,20140217-042529.jpg

Have you ever been so tired that when someone calls your name you don’t get up.  You just kind of give them this look to see if it’s worthy of you moving from that most comfortable position.  Yeah, unless it involves food or outside, I’m good.  Signed Sleepyhead

Dear Sleepyhead,
I can related to what you are speaking of my friend.  There are days that I am so like that.  If it is worthy to move, I will.  If not, a couple of more minutes of shut eye is so worth it!

Dear Bacon

Dear Bacon,
We love to battle. We were made to battle. We’re actually pets too and not food. People don’t look at us as cute but we actually do have a sense of humor. We may not be cuddle buddies but people do look at us with this wondrous look on their face. Signed Lobster Buds

Dear Lobster Buds,
I hate to be the piggy of bad news. That wondrous look is probably people salivating at the thought of you in their belly. I know I had my moment. People have a lot if different pets. Perhaps a bit of advice? Drop the utensils in battle. You’re just giving people ideas… Like you come with eating utensils.

Dear Bacon,
I was watching a nature show at the zoo. What? Of course bears watch television. Anyway, it was about frogs. I’m fascinated on everything about them. I especially like the way they sit. I think it’s awesome. I also think I have perfected it. What do you think? Signed Crouching Frog Bear

Dear Crouching Frog Bear,
Perhaps you need to change that channel to Dr Phil, Dr Oz or some other doctor show. You’re a bear. Bears are suppose to be … well bears not frogs. If you want to play frog, do it after the zoo closes. While the zoo is open, let your inner bear shine.

Dear Bacon,
Me and my friend Bird have a wonderful game that we play. He comes down from the majestic sky, we grab on to each other and then I kitty dive. It’s a blast! We have so much fun. Next time you’re in town, come fly with us. Signed Flying Puss

Dear Flying Puss,
Hey if this is your favorite pastime and you two trust each other, go for it. As far as flying pig, I’ll pass. There are downfalls to me flying. One thing, I weigh a lot more. Another thing, I think others world look at me as food. 🙂 happy flying.

Dear Bacon,
I say we start a campaign about eating more chicken. Between the two of us, I think it would be awesome! Just think of what we can do for our kind. Signed Moo Moo

Dear Moo Moo,
I think that might catch on, “Eat More Chicken”. It’s like I’ve heard it before in my head! Start the campaign!
