My Blog Anniversary!

 

Oh my friends.  Where does the time fly by so quickly?  Can you believe it’s been FOUR years since my first posting on October 9, 2011? One of my biggest accomplishments in this time – is meeting all of you my wonderful and cherished blogville friends from all over the world!  Your friendship means the world to this little oinker – it really does!  And what a great thing that my blog anniversary comes in my favorite month – during my 31 Days of Spook.

So I know this post isn’t about hauntings or spooks, things that go bump in the night or squeals, but is about you – my friends.  Thank YOU for all of your support, your friendship, your shoulders when I need them to cry on and for allowing me into your homes.  YOU mean the world to this little piggy.  Smooches!

For Your Amusement – Let’s Snort

Saturday, April 27, 2013, I was sitting all snuggly with mom on the couch.  She was watching crime stories and writing while I was snoring.  I got a ding on my i-Pad stating I got a message on my blog here.  I immediately woke up because these are very, VERY important to me.  When my friends leave messages, I have to check immediately and respond.  It’s what I do. 

Do you know how surprised and tickled I was that I got a message stating that I got an award!  I started snorting so loud that mom stopped writing to see what I was excited about.  Then she started snorting!  No – PLOL (piggy laughing out loud), she was thrilled too.  I am so very, very thankful!  This piggy LOVES awards.

Questions about me – the pig – snort snort

1. Do I sleep the entire night?  Yes, I do.  Every since I was 3 weeks old when mom adopted me, I sleep the entire night.  I will only wake mommy up if the midnight munchie monster wakes me up.
2. What is my favorite television show? Green Acres – what?
3. Are pigs dirty?  Nope.  Just the opposite.  This little piggy likes clean. 
4. Do I like sports?   I love sports.  I have a long line of ancestors that played in football. 
5. What is my favorite food/snack?  I can’t just pick one.  Watermelon, Cheerios or strawberries – yum
6. How fast can I type?  Well, I’m not as fast as mom because I don’t have fingers.  My hooves tend to slow me down.  But, I can type faster than some.  You know – practice, practice and practice.
7. Am I a friendly pig?  I am friendly to people but I’m also a little on the shy side with first meeting people.  On the other hand, I’m also a one pig person.  I love my mommy and I’m very possessive over her.
8. Do I get along with the other fur things at the Hotel Thompson?  Yep, we all get along.  We love to chase and play with other through the halls and rooms.
9. What do I have in my que on Netflix?  I have all kinds of shows on my Netflix.  I love mysteries, crime shows and ghost shows – oh my! 
10. Do I like to be held?  If I jump on the couch and snuggle beside mommy, I love to be gently squeezed and loved on.  I don’t particularly like to be picked up anymore.  It’s scary for a pig when their hooves don’t touch the floor.

YAY!  I’m happier than a pig rolling around mud on a warm day. 

I’m so excited to receive the The Versatile Blogger award from my friend over at www.peacelovegreatcountrymusic.com You’ll have to go over and check them out.  They have everything and anything about country music – it’s a wonderful blog that I found when mom was sick a couple of weeks ago.  Check it out and tell them Bacon sent you 🙂

So thanks to Peace, Love & Great Country Music for nominating little ole me – (hogs and kisses).  And now 7 things about myself.

 

1. I’m more of an evening pig than a morning pig.  I like to get my sleep in the morning and during the day while mom is at the worky place.  That way I am fully awake for mommy/piggy time when she gets home. 🙂 smart huh?
2. I don’t like it when my hooves don’t touch the floor.  I feel safe with all four hooves solid on the ground.  If they aren’t, I will squeal louder than a car alarm until they are. 
3. I’m a little protective over my mom.  She likes to call me her watch pig – snort.
4. I personally have a pet.  His name is Bashful and he is my pet rock.  And boy, can that rock talk! 
5. I eat Cheerios for breakfast every morning with my pig chow.  What?  A pig has to stay heart smart too.
6. I have my very own room at the Hotel Thompson.  It has all of my conveniences:  my bed, my laptop, my television, my potty pad.  Yep, I’m house trained 🙂
7. I speak human.  I know when mom tells me to go get ready for bed, go to the kitchen, sit on the sofa, etc.  I’m very fortunate that she also speaks pigs 🙂

Friday – YES!

Thank goodness today is Friday. I absolutely LOVE Fridays. You ask why? Because that means the weekend is right next door and mommy will be home from the worky place. That means extra mommy/piggy snuggles. And I’m still catching up on those from when mom was sick last week. She is doing much better now – not 100% – but she is getting there.

I’m hoping that this weekend finds us laying around on the sofa together watching some good television and bonding. It’s way over do.

 

I’ve missed mom so much it’s unbelievable.  This is a picture of me last night.  Mom was sitting on the couch all by herself.  I got done eating dinner and walked over to her.  I put my head right on her legs and feet and started talking to her.  That’s how much I’ve missed her.  Can you relate?

I stayed in this position for the longest time just loving on my mommy.  After a while, I jumped on the couch beside her and got more loving.  There’s nothing like couch bonding time with mom.

Pumpkin Piggy Power!

Piggies love pumpkins.  I think we look so adorable next to one.  This is really my first Halloween and I am loving it!  I have found so many cute pictures of us with those big orange pumpkins.

For Halloween this year, mom is letting me have a cyber party.  I’m going to hook up the skype on my computer and visit with different friends dressed up in their costumes.  I think that’s a cool idea and will be so much fun!  Daddy came up with the idea – thanks dad! 

Don’t worry though, I’m going to have my friend take pictures of everyone.  Hopefully I can get everything up the next day for you to look at.  In fact, it might take me a couple of days.  Should be a blast! 

I hope everyone is looking forward to Halloween.  I know I am!

I’m A Good Boy I Am

Last night mommy told me that I was a good boy.  I know.  🙂 We stayed up until after 11:00PM watching television last night and hanging out on our couch.  Daddy laughed at us when we got up.  Funny daddy.     

Mom woke me up by gently rubbing under my chin and talking to me, “Wake up baby boy.  Wake up Bacon.  It’s time to go to bed.”  I just love her little sing song voice. 

We both stood up at the same time. 

We both stretched at the same time. 

Mommy told me she was going to go potty and I needed to do the same.  She went to the human bathroom and I went to my piggy bathroom.  Daddy said he could hear both of us at the same time.  Like mommy like piggy huh?  She told me after I used the bathroom to get in bed so I did. 

I was in bed waiting for her when she got done brushing her teeth.  See, I’m a good boy I am 🙂  Mom came in afterwards, told me a quick story while rubbing my back.  She gave me a little treat and we both went to bed. 

Dad just sat in the front room shaking his head.  He said we were both spoiled.  I agree with him that mommy is but me?  Nah.
