This post goes out to my brother Hemingway – Hemi for short. He is a lot of things here at the Hotel Thompson.
He is my brother.
He is my friend.
He is the master cat.
He is mom/dads oldest.
I talk about him a lot here on my blog. Mostly about him using his ginormous paw to slap me on the rump – snorts. But really, today is his birthday. Today he turns the big 14 years young. Happy birthday Hemi.
And just remember Hemi, with your age – snorts –
you might want to cut back on spanking this oinker.
Houdini turns a big whopping four today. Where has the time gone? It feels just like yesterday that Houdini was adopted and came to live at the Hotel Thompson.
We are keeping it pretty quiet today but later this evening, there will be a small party with Frosty Paws ice cream with a few anipal friends.
We just had to share this from Houdini’s first birthday – here he is blowing out his candle. Can you say aaww.
Did you know that? That today is a holiday? Well it is. Today is my Aunt Tina’s birthday! Awesome huh? I wanted to send my Aunt Tina a huge piggy hug. I’ve looked long and close, here and far and everywhere for just that perfect card. Finally I called a family meeting together to find just the perfect birthday greeting. I couldn’t trust snail mail to get it there so I thought I would post it here for all of my friends to see.
Do a little dance – get down tonight. Shake it to the left…. shake it to the right… shake it to the side that’s all the best! Today is a most important day. What is it you ask?
It’s Nana’s birthday!! ❤
This little piggy will be seeing her later in the day to give her plenty of hogs and snout kisses… and of course I’ll help her blow her candles out too. So my friends – here’s wishing Nana the happiest birthday of them all!
Today has been an important date all around – especially here at the Hotel Thompson! You do realize what a huge fanatic my mom is about the mouse that wears the white gloves? I mean, it’s bad enough that there are Mickey Mouse shapes across the facial boards of the Hotel Thompson… let alone the mouse is somehow someway in every room… and mom even has a tattoo of the fellow – shocker huh? I think you can say that she’s serious about Mickey.
Can you believe that November 18, 1928, Mickey Mouse made his debut into entertainment. He wasn’t originally known as Mickey Mouse. Did you know that? His first mark into history came in Steamboat Willie as Mortimer Mouse. They changed his name shortly thereafter – good thing too, huh?
In 1929, they came out with a short called The Opry House. This is when the mouse got his famous white gloves for his outfit.
.
.
And, did you know that Walt Disney himself did the voice of Mickey Mouse up until 1946?
And, the most important thing I found that I *know* mom is going to have a fit about.. there’s actually a Mickey Mouse cocktail. It’s made with tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco and a lime wedge. I guess it could be a grown up version by adding Vodka.
So, let’s all wish mom’s little idol a Happy Birthday!!
Hey Bacon’s friends. This is Bacon’s mom and dad here. We are hi-jacking the little guy’s blog this afternoon for an important announcement. Today is also our pig-son’s birthday. Our baby Bacon turns the big 6 today! Can you believe he was born on our anniversary? Just one more little sign that his adoption was meant to be with us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BACON!
Bacon has brought so much joy here at the Hotel Thompson. When I tell you there is *never* a dull moment, that is certainly the truth. Bacon is like the little child we never had. He’s very smart – as you all know from him writing his blog here – cough cough. It doesn’t matter what kind of day you’ve had, how much stress you encounter in the world – he is always here waiting for you with a snort and oink. I’m not sure what me or Jim would do without Bacon and our other ‘children’: Houdini, Hemi and Mouse Girl in our lives. They bless us beyond our imagination.
So today, we raise our glass with you our friends to send out a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best pig-son we could ever have. And here’s to years and years of more happiness and adventures! Help us out our friends in wishing Bacon the best of all birthdays!
Bacon – may all your dreams come true. May you have more delights today than ever before. We love you our boy!
And thanks to my bro across the pond – Phenny – for these awesome presents. That card was almost as big as me! I loved it. Thanks bro ❤

I talk about him a lot here on my blog. Mostly about him using his ginormous paw to slap me on the rump – snorts. But really, today is his birthday. Today he turns the big 13 years old. Happy birthday Hemi.

Just sayin’
PLOL (Pig Laughing out Loud!)
Oh friends, did you know that mommy/daddy adopted Hemi and his brother Tybee when they were three weeks old? They barely had their eyes open and had just started walking – I guess you could say that was walking. Their little tails were like a piece of yarn – 🙂 They had gotten picked up by Animal Control and taken to the shelter. Mom and dad saved them both and brought them home. They are such softies when it comes to us four legged animals, you know 🙂
And special thank you to Phenny across the pond who sent me and my brother Houdini some birthday goodies. We are sending you lots of meow’s, hogs and snout kisses ❤
I just have to share Houdini’s birthday video from last week. You talk about being a tiny little bit spoiled! Sheesh – that dog is rotten! Okay, I’ll let you be the judge of rotten. You look at this video and you tell me what you think. Ignore mom/dad’s singing. We all know that southern speech and singing don’t go together – snorts with piggy laughter.
OMP (oh my pig!) Can you believe that it’s been FOUR years since Bashful came to live with me here at the Hotel Thompson? This is him all snuggled in transport the first time that I saw him – aaww. Wasn’t he all cute and innocent in his straw bed?
And to think of all of the places he has been in the world? He’s going to need extra pages in his passport book soon ❤
So, today, let’s all wish our little international rolling stone a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Miniature pot bellied pig and friends - Bacon, Houdini, Hemi and all of the Rock Clan with Journalist Rocky the Squirrel all out looking for adventures from the Hotel Thompson.
