Daddy is Getting a Part-Time Job

Our big surprise is coming up in September – just mere months away!  So dad thought he would be resourceful and get a part-time gig with a mariachi band to help with saving some money.  And with Cinco de Mayo being in a couple of days, what better way, right?

So the next time you are in your local Mexican restaurant, be on the lookout for my daddy.  He will be the one singing off key with a southern twang.  You might want to consider giving him a little something to be quiet.

I wonder if we can find a Mexican poncho small enough for Houdini so he can go as his side kick?  You know – the more making extra money the better, right?  Snorts with piggy laughter.

Travels in the South

Have you been enjoying our Travels in the South my friends?  Today we continue our travels with Fozziemom and Fozziedad who visited with us all the way from Australia.  Now, the month previous was Fozziedad’s birthday so everyone agreed to celebrate his birthday when he came to the States.

On this date, they all ventured downtown Atlanta to hang out for a bit and then to go to lunch.  Since Fozziedad plays the guitar, mom researched and found a great shop close to the restaurant they would be going to for lunch.  They all went into the store where they got to hear Fozziedad play and were totally amazed and I do believe mom was star struck ❤  Fozziedad is amazing and trust us, he knows his way around a guitar.  Mom/dad said if they lived in Australia they would for sure have to go and hang out when he plays.

After the guitar store visit, they went to eat at one of my mom/dad’s favorite restaurants called Fogo de Chão.  This is an all you can eat type Brazilian Steakhouse.  Now don’t worry.  This place has everything – from the meat eaters to the vegetarians you will be happy here. You first start off with a huge salad bar that has everything that you can imagine.  You can work on that salad first or have it with your meat selections.  As you eat, they bring skewers of different varieties of meat to your table where they then carve it onto your plate.  You choose what you want and how much.  Now I have to tell you a secret.  My mom/dad love this restaurant, especially these little rolls they bring to your tables in baskets.  Mom says they mysterious and magically reappear in the basket every time you ask.  Isn’t that amazing?

Everyone was instructed not to eat breakfast and have to empty bellies for this adventure at the restaurant.  And I must admit, everyone got their fill – even dessert for the birthday boy.  It was an awesome time.  Sometimes when daddy puts me to bed, I ask him to tell me this story about the restaurant.  I can just imagine myself laying up under the table, hooves up in the air like I just don’t care and being hand fed the remarkable steak at this place.  Give me a moment….. okay let’s continue.

Afterwards, the group wanted to go on a further adventure.  You see a couple of years ago, downtown Atlanta installed SkyView Atlanta.  Skyview Atlanta is a Ferris Wheel that is over 20 stories above Centennial Park.  They have individual gondolas that are climate controlled.  Did you hear that?  Climate controlled as in the day everyone visited, it was an air conditioned gondola that they rode in.  Can you believe that?  Ferris Wheels have come a long ways baby.  When you are up in the gondola, mom said you could see all kinds of views of downtown.  It was totally awesome!  And of course no trip is complete without a picture of your memories.

Oh, are you asking where daddy was?  He was guarding the Jeep – snorts with piggy laughter.  Due to dad’s vision, he can’t go up that far so he sat this one out and partied in the Jeep until we got done.   Don’t fear – he had a great time rocking out to Queen.

Dear Bacon

20130601-011521.jpgDear Bacon,

Just the facts little guy.  Nothing but the facts.  We’ve been watching too many repeats of the movies Men in Black.  Don’t ask me which is which.  We just like to dress like Kay and Jay.  You know, just for fun and giggles.  The neighborhood doesn’t know how to act when we roll into it – bark.  What do you think?  Do you like to dress up like any of your favorite guys?  Signed Kay/Jay

Dear Kay and Jay,

Oh dudes – I love the look!  That is so neat.  I’ve seen those movies and ya’ll kind of look just like the two.  I think it’s the ties and sunglasses.  I would love to roam around in my costume too.  I secretly want to be a piggy super hero.  I keep asking mom to make me a cape.  I know with a cape, this little piggy would have special powers and be able to fly.  Stay cool barky things!

Dear Bacon,

This little pup couldn’t take it and fell asleep.  When I woke up, there was the hunny jar near me and I was passed out.  I don’t know what happened and I don’t know why it’s so funny.  The humans keep laughing.  Can you explain?  Signed Pup Dog

Dear Pup Dog,

Snorts – it is kind of funny little man.  Your humans are really playing with you.  It’s cute.  You need to ask the humans to read you the story of Winnie the Pooh.  You look like Pooh.  He liked his hunny.  No, that’s wrong.  He LOVED his hunny.  Hey, I would keep the costume for Halloween.  You’ll get lots of candy!

Dear Bacon,

It doesn’t matter what kind of cat you are, we love boxes.  It’s that simple.  We will get in them and play with them.  I just wanted to let you know.  Signed Kitty Box

Dear Kitty Box,

I’m not hating you on that.  I know the purr things here at the Hotel Thompson love to play with their boxes all of the time.  Mom/dad area always asking them why buy little purr thing presents when you can just give them the box.  Shrugs shoulders.  It’s a kitty thing.  I completely understand.  I tried to do the box thing too.  I didn’t get it.  I destroyed the box in less than five minutes.  Now that’s my fun time!  Enjoy the box my friend!

Dear Bacon,

I know the purr things like their boxes buy I prefer daddy’s guitar case.  While he plays, I crawl in there and the music puts me to sleep.  It’s actually more comfortable than it looks.  Does your human have a guitar case for you to try this?  Signed Squishy

Dear Squishy,

You do look most uncomfortable.  I think I’m going to let you call this one and let you crawl in.  Dad does have a couple of cases but looking at this body, there is no way I will fit in there.  I don’t care how much I try.  Sleep on my friend!

20130601-011634.jpgDear Bacon,

With summer comes doggy camp.  I thought I would snap this picture of all of us on the bus headed to camp for the week.  It’s a ball!  We get to do lots of neat things and have fun.  There really isn’t any time to miss the humans.  Do you get to go to camp?  Signed Campdoggers

Dear Campdoggers,

That looks like so much fun!  As far as I get to camp is when I go to nana’s for a couple of days.  She always fattens me up so I can’t oink. 🙂  It’s fun and you know what they say.  What happens at nana’s, stays at nana’s!  Have fun at camp!
