Journal to Healthier Living – Week 28

Welcome my friends.  I’m tweaking my weekly journey with my healthier living.  It’s a step in the right direction for sure.  I hope you come along for the ride.  Instead of day-to-day comments, I’m going to post something from my personal journal to share.  Hope you enjoy.  Remember all of us go down this path and we are all in it together ❤

Week of  07/15-07/21/2018 – Week 28

“Dear Journal – Have you ever had a bump in the road snowball?  Things are rolling right along, everything is going fine and then there is a little bump that rolls and rolls and then rolls some more until it finally slaps you hard?  Then you are like WTH, where did that come from? It’s hard not to stop the current good trend you are on to confront this challenge.  Sometimes you want to ignore it and you try.  But then it won’t go away and it constant pursues your mind.  Then there are the time you do up and challenge it.  Then you wonder why you fought it to begin with and go on.  Obstacles are there.  I think it’s all about finding a happy medium without beating the hell out of the challenges and obstacles that get you through life.”

Miles walked: 3.48 (I know I walked more than this.  There were several days I forgot to wear my Apple I-Watch 😦 )

TOTAL 2018 Miles:  180.63

TOTAL 2017 Miles:  541.06

small goals turn into big accomplishments ❤

When?

Today my friends, mom would like to speak with you about something that she has been thinking about a lot lately – take it away mom –

Thanks my Bacon.   Today let’s talk about when.  When what you ask?  When did we become old – LOL.  I mean really, this aging thing has like sneaked up on me and screamed BOO in the mirror like overnight.  And I’m ALL for aging gracefully.  It’s just when the heck did this happen?  So my friends, I’m going to share some things about aging.  Please join right in and share some of your thoughts with me.

WHEN…

Going into a room and forgetting what the heck am I here for?  This can include going to the bathroom to use the facilities and forgetting why I’m there.

Not writing things down because you know you will remember and then not remembering what you were suppose to remember.

Putting things in a good spot so you don’t lose them and then forgetting where that nice safe spot so happens to be.

Actually taking the time to write a letter.  Mailing the letter and forgetting to put the letter in the envelope.

Going to bed at 8:30pm is now considered late getting to bed.

Making dinner sometimes consists of a bowl of cereal – who needs to put out extra calories just to make a meal these days?

Snap, cracking and popping more than Rice Krispies.

Not driving at night because it’s hard to see.  Heck sometimes it’s hard to see during the day time.

And when did eating dinner after 4pm start happening?  Anything later than that and your tummy will ache when you are trying to sleep.

Ordering off the senior menu… ’nuff said.

Houdini Update

IMG_0914.JPGGreetings my sweet friends and Happy Friday!!  Just thought I would give you an update on Little Man Houdini.  He is now 16 weeks old.  Time has flown by, hasn’t it?  He’s gotten just a little bit bigger.  He’s at a whopping 3.10 pounds now.  Mommy better quit feeding him or he’s going to turn into a cow – snorts.

This picture is of him last night before bed time.  He wanted to play with mommy so very bad but he was so tired.  I have to throw a shout out to my brother Easy across the pond.  Easy actually sent me this elephant toy and yes I’m being a great big brother and letting the little guy play with it.  See, I’m sharing 🙂

And we are proud to stay that my mommy has officially turned into “one of those moms”.  Snorts – she did this to me when I was a baby.  You are probably asking what did the silly woman do?  Mom woke up at 5AM this morning and then proceeded to wake up daddy to ask him if he had gotten up at all with Houdini.  You see the little tyke usually wakes up at least once, usually twice, for a potty break.  Daddy said no.  Mommy went stir crazy and of course had to wake up Houdini just to make sure he was okay.  He was fine – he was sleeping!  So he *almost* slept the entire night.  Way to go little man!
