Boo! The Munsters

Mean little animated ghost doing it's best to scare a BOO! sign

Today we are going to highlight The MunstersThe Munsters was a weekly television show that revolved around the home life of some friendly ‘monsters’ per say in every day situations.  The first show aired September 24, 1964 and the series ran until May 12, 1966.  It’s hard to believe but there was only 70 episodes produced. All of these shows were made in black and white and I truly believe that made them even spookier.

There were several movies based on the television series that were also produced.

In 1966, Munster, Go Home!  was released.  This was the first time that the Munsters were shown in color.  This is probably one of my favorites from the show.  The Munsters travel to England to claim Munster Hall after the death of an old relative.  And me being a guy, I fell in love with the DRAG-U-LA car.  Snorts – now that was a car that I would love to ride around in – even with them!

In 1981, The Munster’s Revenge was released.  Snorts – who would have ever believed the plot of this one!  The owner of a wax museum creates robots of Herman and Grandpa and uses them as part of a plot to rob a traveling Egyptian antiquities exhibit.  Really?!  Of all the people in the world, they create robots out of Herman and Grandpa?  Can you imagine the fun of this movie?  Can you imagine running into Herman and Grandpa – shivers.  That’s definitely what nightmares are made out of!

In 1995, Here Comes the Munsters was released.  This one I had to watch twice because the first time I had one hoof over my eyes in fear.  My fur was standing up on its own.  In this movie, the family search for Herman’s brother in law, Norman Hyde, only to find out that he has unknowingly turned himself into Brent Jekyll who is running for Congress.  See what I mean – congress – double shivers!

In 1996, The Munster’s Scary Little Christmas came out.  In this show, Grandpa has accidentally captured Santa Claus and two of his elves while Lily is trying to win the local neighborhood Christmas home decorating competition.  AND, Marilyn has invited family and friends from the old country to stay for Christmas.  I almost lost my religion watching this one.  This movie is by far the scariest of them all.  Can you imagine life without Santa Claus – I know!  That is frightening – shivers.

For the day and time, you might get some shivers of the spooky family that crawled up your spine and scared you – especially that hideous Marilyn.  Now that’s a scary monster – snort shivers.

Guess Who Came Home?

You got it!  Bashful came home from his adventure visiting Sam from Tails Around the Ranch.  He has talked non-top about his fun times.  Cause you know some things that happened on his trip stay on the trip if you know what I mean.  Snorts with piggy laughter.  We had a rock party over the weekend to welcome him back home with his new ‘friend’.  That’s right my friends.  Bashful has brought yet another girl home.  Sighs – he is such a stud rock. ❤

img_7914Without further ado, please let me introduce you to Roxann.  Now Roxann is special.  Roaxnn is a naturalized rock via all the way from the beach in Cozumel.  Here’s the kicker.  Roxann is around 5,000 years old – stunner huh?  Who said with age comes disgrace.  Roxann is kicking it with her beautiful blonde hair, blue eyes and red lipstick.  Can you say hubba-hubba?  Her birthday is March 4th.

And here’s the kicker.  Sam found Roxann and Bashful in a corner snickering one day.  When they were asked what they were doing, they both blushed to the high heavens.  And when the box came to my crib, they were both snickering too.  But this time, they were in separate compartments in their packaging.  That might be good because who wants to see gravel appearing in 9 months?  Snorts with piggy laughter – I’m too young to be a grandpa again.

So my dear sweet friend Sam – thank you so much for hosting my little guy.

Where will Bashful go next time in his travels?  Stay tuned my friends!

SOS: Save the Soils

You know this is something I really never gave a second thought to really until I got an email from my good friend Lori with What the Ducks. She sent me an email asking me to be part of the fight for SOS:  Save the Soils.  I went to her page and actually watched the video by PBS.  You can see the video here.  Let me tell you something friends, if you get a chance in your day please check this video out.  It’s 30 minutes of education showing how important it is to take care of this land so it will be here and work for us in a way it needs to.

I’m not an “outside” piggy so I didn’t know a lot about outside living.  But you know what is interesting?  Mommy told me some stories about grandpa (mom’s daddy).  He was from the south and mom said that the entire time when she was growing up, they had a garden.  And do you know what?  He was using compost way back then giving to the earth year after year.  He told mom that compost was the better way for a garden because it gives to the food that you plant.  He probably didn’t know it then but he was making this world a better place for all of us.  You put in what you get out.

And you know what else mommy said?  If grandpa was still alive today, he wouldn’t want me just in any ordinary mud hole full of chemicals and yuck.  I shiver just thinking about that.  If grandpa was alive and I was an outside piggy, he would give me the cleanest, purest mud that even mommy could use.  Now wouldn’t that be something special?

So my friends, today please take time and join with me on this very important SOS:  Save the Soils.  Not just for today – but every day.  Let’s make this a better place to live and breathe.

Grandpa’s Hot

Oh dear piggy heavens.  Here are some more of mom and dad’s adventures.  They went out unchaperoned and trust me I have found enough evidence on mom’s iPhone to blackmail those two for the rest of their lives – snorts.  Enjoy my friends – snorts!

7 Weeks of Weird

Today my new friend here is highlighting 7 weeks of weird in “Weirdest random fact about yourself”.  This can be something I’ve done, something I would like to do or somewhere I’ve been.

Goodness, this another hard week that required lots of thinking.  Personally there is only one weird fact that I can come up with but it’s about mom.  Mommy has a really weird fact.  Mommy doesn’t do seeds very well.  In fact, she doesn’t do them at all.  IF she goes to a restaurant and the waitress/waiter happens to put a lemon in her water, dad will have to (1) remove said lemon and all seeds that floated away in the water or (2) if there are too many seeds, request another water.  That’s how bad mommy is with seeds.  And don’t get me started about seeds in watermelons.  Mom has pictures of her dad taking the seeds out of watermelon and feeding it to her when she was a baby (see it goes way back).  Daddy does this now for mommy.  Weird huh?
