This post goes out to my brother Hemingway – Hemi for short. He is a lot of things here at the Hotel Thompson.
He is my brother.
He is my friend.
He is the master cat.
He is mom/dads oldest.
I talk about him a lot here on my blog. Mostly about him using his ginormous paw to slap me on the rump – snorts. But really, today is his birthday. Today he turns the big 14 years young. Happy birthday Hemi.
And just remember Hemi, with your age – snorts –
you might want to cut back on spanking this oinker.

PLOL (Pig Laughing out Loud!)
Oh friends, did you know that mommy/daddy adopted Hemi and his brother Tybee when they were three weeks old? They barely had their eyes open and had just started walking – I guess you could say that was walking. Their little tails were like a piece of yarn – 🙂 They had gotten picked up by Animal Control and taken to the shelter. Mom and dad saved them both and brought them home. They are such softies when it comes to us four legged animals, you know 🙂
And special thank you to Phenny across the pond who sent me and my brother Houdini some birthday goodies. We are sending you lots of meow’s, hogs and snout kisses ❤
Our hearts are so broken here at the Hotel Thompson this morning. We woke up to hear about the passing of our beloved brother Easy. Please friends, join us in lighting a candle and sending massive hogs and snout kisses to Easy’s parents during this time. Our hearts go out to them ❤

Hello my sweet friends. Have I got a treat for you! You’ve been told that we had guests this past week – and trust me – it was a LOT of fun for sure. Just like sharing my Travels to Israel with you last month, now we will be doing an edition of Travels in the South with our friends. Yep, nods head, mom/dad did that much with our friends.
Okay you are saying, “Fine pig, who visited then?” Well, you have to wait no more. Do you know Shoko and Kali from Canadian Cats? Well their mom/dad (Jean and Bill) visited Atlanta and my mom/dad got to play with them – snorts with piggy laughter. And I will tell you one thing my friends. I’ve seen some of their pictures on the ‘cloud’. All I have to say is OMP! It was a hoot!
So they got here late Wednesday 2/17/2016. My mom had a ‘friend’ pick them up special from the airport. Snorts – you’ll have to read about that from Jean and Bill cause it was a special pick up indeed. The friend brought Jean and Bill to mom’s office where mom gave them a quick tour of the facility before taking them to check in at their hotel. Afterwards, mom went home and got dad so they could go out for dinner (one of many fun times).
They decided to go to a local restaurant called Red Lobster. Knowing that Jean and Bill had been traveling all day, mom wanted to make sure they were well fed so they could get some sleep.
Jean and Bill both got Garlic Grilled Shrimp which were huge (you can see some in the picture). Although, as a side dish Bill got Bourbon Pecan Sweet Potatoes – you know something of the south which we love here.
Jean got the side dish of Creamy Langostino Lobster Mashed Potatoes which also happens to be one of mom’s favorites. They were delicious but we didn’t take a picture – can you imagine that? It was creamy mashed potatoes topped with lobster pieces and mom said she thought she heard angels sing when they were delivered to the table cause they are that good – snorts.
One thing that mom/dad said that Jean and Bill *had* to try was lobster pizza as an appetizer. And mom just happened to have a coupon for one – go mom. Now, it is something that you have to wrap your mind around but once you do – OMP – they say it is wonderful… not that I would know because none of it has ever made its way to me. Just sayin’.
It comes out on a thin crust and it’s hot from the oven. You kind of have to give it a moment to set up before getting a slice. If not, it just goo’s all over the place. What did Bill and Jean think of the lobster pizza?
Well I think it was a winner from looking at this picture. What do you think?
And don’t worry – Jean found something else that she had never tried before – Lobster Bisque. Jean and daddy had a bowl and there were pieces of Langostino lobster in the soup as well.
Daddy said that he had never seen so much lobster in the bowl before. Maybe that was because mom/dad had their favorite waitress Lexus waiting on them? Who knows – it was delicious!
Now join us next week to find out what everyone did the next day of their visit – you definitely don’t want to miss it!
Welcome my friends to our first edition of SPOTLIGHT THURSDAY. This is the time that I will introduce you to one of my fellow anipals so you can get to know them better. Some of them, you may already know. We hope that you enjoy this new series!
UPDATE: This post was already set up to highlight my pal Stuart. Then we heard about his passing on 12/12/2015. We were all so upset to hear the news just as everyone else was. We went back and forth trying to decide to post this today but then thought YES.
Let’s celebrate the life of our good friend Stuart.
We know he’s watching over all of us and let’s spend today not in sorrow but remembering the life of our pal and what he meant to all of us. And by all means, let’s remember his wonderful sense of humor! ❤ So join us my friends as we celebrate the life of Stuart in his interview. Please feel free to share this page, your stories of how you met and how he has touched your heart.
Name: My AKC name is BoBo’s Over the Shoulder Dream Choice, but my friends, like you, can call me Stuart. Stuart the Scottie. I also answer to “Stu Pot”, “Lamb Chop”, “Stumeister”, “Love Boy” and “Streudelhead”. But don’t tell anybody. Actually, I don’t answer to anything unless I want to.
Age: Well, technically I’m 9. But people think I’m a gazillion because my brindle hairs make me look like a gray old man. To tell you the truth, I walk like an old man sometimes, but that’s just because I’m bored. I can get a kick in my kaboodle any time I want.
Location: Richmond, VA

What were your first thoughts when you met your new parents? Oh. I thought they were nice. Nice enough to fall asleep in one’s lap for a while and to stare at the other one’s eyes once I woke up. It worked. Because they came to pick me up the next week. I still fall asleep with them, but I don’t stare at them too much any more. Don’t want them to think I can’t live without them, now would I? No. I. Would. Not.
What was the defining moment when you knew you were in your forever home? .I was only 10 weeks old at the time, but I knew I was home just as soon as our car pulled away from the place where I was born. Those folks weren’t nice. They didn’t like me and they wanted me gone. I didn’t even know how to play like most puppies. Good riddance I say. My peeps – as I call them – love me to pieces and I love them. The past is forgotten. Well, not really forgotten. I still have bad dreams sometimes about that awful place. But my peeps are always there for me. Geez. I gotta stop with this mushy stuff. It’s unbecoming to a Scottie.
What has been your biggest “Oh no, now I’ve done it” moment so far in your home? .I do so many things that the peeps don’t know about, but it must have been the time I got caught on the sofa in the big room. Now, I know I’m not supposed to get up on that thing. But I do it all the time. Been doing it for years. What the peeps don’t know, won’t hurt them, right?
Who do you have wrapped around your paws more – mom or dad – and why? Now that’s an interesting question. I’d say they’re about even. I get what I want. Whenever I want it. No question about that. Absoroootly no question.
What’s the biggest misconception that humans think about you? That I’m an old man. I fool people all the time. Just the other day, a neighbor with one of those designer dogs saw me chase a squirrel. He was amazed. “Wow! Look at Stuart go! I’ve never seen him do that!” Right buddy. And you’ll be lucky to see it again. I’m not old, I’m just very particular about how much energy I exert. Not like that BOUNCY thing you’ve got.. I. Do. Not. Jump. On. People.

Check back next week for another Spotlight edition!
Do you know my cousin Sammy’s at onespoiledcat? His mom, Pam, at is having a birthday today!!
Jump for joy, do a little booty shake, yeah yeah, shake it to the east – shake it to the west – shake it!
It’s your birthday – it’s your birthday.
Pam – You have touched my little piggy’s heart from the start. When I’m having a down day, you put a smile upon my face. You’re always there for me with open arms. Happy Birthday my dear friend from the bottom of my little piggy heart!
I love you Pam! Pig out and have a pigawesome day!
Oh friends – today is Fozzie’s birthday. Please remember her today and bounce over to her blog to wish her a happy birthday!
Fozzie is my cohort. – my partner in crime if you will. Fozzie is my friend when I’m having a great day or bad day. She ❤ me when I’m sweet Bacon or deviled Ham.
Fozzie is special to us here at the Hotel Thompson. We may be on the other sides of the world – but when we talk it feels like we are side by side. I can’t say enough great things about Fozzie. She’s that special kind of woman who can bring a smile to your face even though she may be suffering in pain. She’s that kind of friend that you don’t talk to for days and all of a sudden when you do speak, it’s like it was yesterday.
So from all of us here at the Hotel Thompson, we wish you a very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY! May all your dreams come true my sweet dear friend!
Dear Bacon – My mom holds my trunk every time we go out on walks. It’s so embarrassing. I like to think that I’m a big elephant now. I don’t need to hold hands. Does your mom make you do these things too? Signed Mommy’s Boy
Dear Mommy’s Boy – I hate to tell you this my friend but we will always be mommy’s baby regardless if we are two or a hundred and two. That’s the way it is. I wouldn’t worry what anyone else thinks of your situation. One day when your mom is gone, you will wish for these days again. So I tell you, enjoy your mom holding your trunk. Love every minute of it and hey why don’t you hold her trunk for a change. You can tell your friends that’s the case. You are protecting your mother and helping to guide her.
Dear Bacon – This means war. All day every day. You do know what I’m talking about, right? I refuse to become a chicken nugget. I’m a rebel with a cause. I’m the extreme free range chicken. Unite with me and stand with the cause. Signed Rebel with a Cause
Dear Rebel with a Cause – I’m so with you. I would stand beside you for your cause. I would even add my cause. I refuse to be a pork meal in any shape or form from bacon to pork chops and anything in between. If we don’t stand up for our rights, ele who will? I say we have a meet up at Old McDonald’s Farm on Highway 42 at midnight to talk about our stand. I’ll start making posters and hanging them in all of the fast food restaurant bathrooms ASAP.

Dear Bacon – There we were at the local bar mingling when we ordered a drink called the Blue Calypso. Were we surprised when it came to the table. Oh my hamsters – it had a garnish that was alive and swimming. We didn’t know whether to drink it, play with it or tip it. What say you? Signed The Twins – Adam and Bubba
Dear Adam and Bubba – Now *that* is a surprise my friends. I’m with you. What to do? Well, you can’t drink/eat the tyke now. You’ve been introduced and are on friendly terms now. And on the other hoof, if you leave him, someone else will take care of your problem in a bad way. I say, ask him to come home with you to keep him safe. Wouldn’t that be fun to have an extra room-mate? He does look kind of cool and just think of how much trouble ya’ll can get into. I bet he would even be great at charades.

Dear Bacon – There is always that one person in the hood that is your arch enemy. So yes I have eaten little more lately than usual. It’s summer. It’s hot. There’s nothing else to do but eat. Maybe perhaps I shouldn’t have eaten that last dog biscuit. I went outside to take care of some business and while coming back in I got stuck in a compromising position. I swear someone shrunk my doggy door. And then there is that one friend-enemy that snuck up behind me and drew a happy face on my butt. Really? Don’t push me and help guy out, embarrass him instead. What an idiot. When I get out of this position, he is so going to pay. What do you think? Signed Two Faced
Dear Two Faced – Give me a second to gain my composure. I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing with you at the situation. It could very well be this little porker stuck in the doggy door. While your friend-enemy was drawing on your butt perhaps you should have told him to kiss while he was back there. At least he wasn’t talking behind your back – snorts. And don’t worry, I’m sure you will get even. You know what they say about karma – it goes around Don’t forget that okay.

Dear Bacon – Julia Child – nope. Emeril – nope. Bobby Flay – nope. I’m the original Chef Wolf Dog Gang. Since graduating from the CICC (Culinary Institution of Canine Cooking), I can’t stay out of the kitchen. Not only can I bring home the bacon (sorry pal) but I can cook it up in the pan. Friends in the hood come from all over to taste some of my creations. You can often find me shopping in gardens around the house and coming up with such masterpieces as Hot Dog Casserole, Mutt Balls with Brown Rice, Doggy Lasagna and Chicken Backlash. They are all must haves and I hope to market them soon. When I get my cooking channel up, I would love for you to be my first guest. Signed Chef Wolf Dog Gang
Dear Chef Wolf Dog Gang – That is totally awesome that you picked up a hobby that is also a career. You know what they say about if you enjoy and love your job, you will never work a day in your life. Keep up the great work and hey can you send me some Mutt Balls with Brown Rice? That sounds fantastic! Oh and I would love to be your first guest as long as well you know… I’m a guest and not the guest of the meal if you know what I mean – snorts.
