I admit that sometimes as a squirrel, I have a lot of time on my hands. I know I live in a good neighborhood and don’t really have a need for much. Bacon’s parents keeps me and my family in nuts and water. There are no big dogs chasing us in our yard – just Houdini and Bacon and well we pretty much all get along. So sometimes just for giggles, I will read the dictionary. The family especially loves it – we learn so much. For instance, like something I’m fixing to share with you. Be prepared to be educated my friends.
The longest word in the Oxford English Dictionary is 45 letters long: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. What does this mean? It is an artificial long word said to mean a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust. WOW – really? A long word that is actually a joke.
The longest well-known nonsense word is 34 letters: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Anyone versed in their Mary Poppins can define this for themselves, but according to Oxford the fanciful adjective means “extraordinarily good.”
The longest non-coined, non-technical word published in multiple dictionaries is 28 letters long: Antidisestablishmentarianism. What does it actually mean? It is used to refer to a 19th century political party opposed to the disestablishment of the Church of England—but today it mainly means “I know a really long word.”
I have a security blanket. You’ve heard me talk about it. It’s my KING sized Egyptian cotton sheet. Do you know how I got it? It was once mom/dad’s. Mommy was doing the laundry one weekend and was folding items out of the dryer. I fell in love with that sheet. I was rolling all over it and wouldn’t let her have it. I finally took off with it in my mouth out of the laundry room, through the kitchen, through the front room and all the way down the hall to my bedroom. It’s been mine every since. I ❤ it. I drag it everywhere in the house. It also makes a great slide cause it’s soft and slick – snorts. Looks innocent – not that I would know anything about that.
I talk a lot about my dad on my blog. You know about us having a hate/love relationship. But deep down, I really do love my daddy. He takes care of me during the day. He can’t be that bad of a guy, right?
What’s on my television right at this moment? That would be Mountain Monsters – I love those guys on this show – especially Trapper. If you haven’t seen it yet, you gotta watch it. I’ll try to do a blog about it one day soon.
Contrary to popular belief, pigs are actually clean anipals. We don’t smell. We don’t sweat. We are actually very loving and very smart.
I speak two languages. Bet you didn’t know that did you? I speak English – I know what mom tells me to do and not to do. And I also speak Pig Latin. Didn’t see that one coming did you? Snorts
Oh piggy heavens! Bashful has made it home from Auntie Sharon in Australia! He came in the mail and of course daddy would not let me open it until mom got home last night from the worky place. It was a funny thing too. It sounded like there was a party going on in that box. In fact, this song was playing.
Snorticles. It was constant. I kind of got used to it and was dancing and singing that catchy little tune myself. When mom came home, I FINALLY got to open the box. Bashful brought home a friend. May I present to you Koishi. Koishi in Japanese means pebble. Here is the Japanese writing for it: 小石 Cool huh? That Koishi is a looker – so pretty and beautiful in her kimono. I know that Princess Coralena, Virginia and Rockelle were all in awe over her outfit. There is a slight language barrier but I think we can get the meaning to a lot of things she is trying to say.
The first thing she wrote was 私は恥ずかしがり屋の愛 which in Japanese language is Watashi wa hazukashi gari-ya no ai. Do you know what that means? I got out my piggy translator and looked it up. It says, “I love Bashful”. Isn’t that the sweetest? That rock of mine certainly has the “IT” factor in picking up the ladies doesn’t he?
All of the rock clans and I stayed up late last night talking and catching up on everything that has been going on here at the Hotel Thompson. It was a late night into the morning but that was okay. It was a stormy night here last night with thunder and lightening. For a while, we lost power and everything was dark. That’s okay though. Koishi settled right beside Bashful and finally fell asleep in his arms. It was adorable!
You gotta see some of the other items that came home with Bashful from Auntie Sharon. First up, this adorable cute little keychain. OMP (Oh m pig!) Mommy fell IN LOVE with this keychain. That soup in the bowl looks so real – like it’s going to pour out at any minute. Isn’t is to die for?!
It’s so cute. We had to put it on display in our curio cabinet. We don’t want anything to happen to it!
Then, there was this headband. Daddy had a FIT about it. He immediately had to take it out of the package and put it on. Snorts – it was too funny. I’ll have to post about that situation next week. When I tell you that daddy of mine is two scoops past crazy – I am not joking. But I do have to give him this. The man has skills. Skills of stupidity but skills. It’s okay though. Mommy took the headband and wrapped it back up to put in our showcase. We don’t want anything to happen to it.
Also in the box were these cute little girls – I think they were made of wood. Help me out Auntie Sharon if I’m wrong. They were adorable! I think perhaps they may look innocent and sweet but I think they were the ones starting up the party in the box with I Think I’m Turning Japanese. Really, snorts, I do.
Of course, mommy put them in the curio cabinet as well. They are too adorable and look so cute in the cabinet with the keychain and headband.
And do you know what else Auntie Sharon found and sent to mom? Minnie Mouse boxes – OMP (oh my pig). I haven’t heard mom squeal that loud in a long time. These two little boxes sit inside of each other. They are precious! Mommy was overly thrilled with them.
We can’t thank you enough Auntie Sharon for hosting Bashful and the wonderful gifts. I really hope that Koishi will be happy here at the Hotel Thompson. I hope I translated this correctly:
Miniature pot bellied pig and friends - Bacon, Houdini, Hemi and all of the Rock Clan with Journalist Rocky the Squirrel all out looking for adventures from the Hotel Thompson.
