Paw Time with Houdini

Welcome my friends to another great week of Paw Time with Houdini.  This week has been awesome – isn’t every week?  Of course, it’s been busy too.  Last weekend, we had a family meeting and Bacon was advised that he is going to summer camp.  Now I thought it would be cool but Bacon is so against it.  That oinker really doesn’t like nature does he?  He has tried every excuse and had one-on-one meetings with mom and dad trying to wiggle himself out of the situation.  But it’s not going to work.  Mom is insisting on him going to Summer Camp – seven entire days in nature.

This week also ended Shark Week.  And you knew it was coming, didn’t you.  Mom was going to dress me up like Shark Bait.  I knew it.  So finally, she got my costume out and put it on me.  Rolls doggy eyes.  I let her get one somewhat potential photograph.  I just wasn’t feeling it.  That outfit was H.O.T.  Did I mention we are in the south here and it is H.O.T.?  It is.  So she got a quicky picture.

There is a hat that actually comes up over my head and it has little slits for my ears to poke through.  She had me all fixed up for like five seconds when she put me down in the ‘waters’ of the hardwood floor – Barks!

But anyway, she got a little picture to submit to Discover for Shark Week.  Don’t I look mean and ready to eat you up?!  Okay maybe not.

.

I also had Doggy Daycare this week and got to go up to Nana’s house.  Bacon tried really hard and persuaded me to talk to Nana about his situation.   He doesn’t believe me but even Nana said that it would be good for him to be away from mom/dad and be with others for Summer Camp.  They are really pushing this.  I’ll be honest with you.  I kind of feel sorry for the guy a bit.

But back to doggy daycare.  This was the day that I go to Nana’s.  Me and the other pooches at Nana’s get the works.  Danielle the groomers comes out to the house and gives us all special time in her R.V.  We get baths, massages, blow drys, cuts, nails – the entire works!  Then I get to hang out with Nana, Tinkerbelle and Dingo until mom picks me up when she gets off of the worky place.  Also me being at doggy daycare, this gives daddy his day to get the big stuff done at the Hotel Thompson.  You know, washing the bed sheets, changing the beds, getting dinner ready, mopping.  Things he supposedly can’t do with me under his feet.  I don’t know what he means by that.  I’m just there helping.. right?

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

The Paw Time with Houdini

Hello my friends to another great week of Paw Time with Houdini.  I hope that you’ve had a wonderful week – and a great holiday weekend.  We’ve all been trying to stay cool here at the Hotel Thompson.  We are ALL over Summer now and ready for some cooler weather.  And no we are not like those peeps in the winter that say we are ready for Summer and vice versa.  We all kind of like it a little cool.  This heat just makes it so miserable to do anything.  And living in the south, you add in the humidity with it and yuck.

There are some things going on here at the Hotel Thompson that will be interesting in the next couple of weeks.  One of them has to do with Bacon – barks!  He doesn’t know yet but I know the secret – secret evil smiles.  I overheard mom/dad talking about it and no I can’t tell you what it is … yet.  But it’s going to be hilarious.  Okay maybe not so much for that spoiled oinker but amusing for everyone else here.  Just wait.

And mom took some great pictures of me this week.  The first one is me wearing my pink shirt – nods head.  Real men wear pink 🙂  I just woke up so I still had some bedhead going on with that picture.  But it’s still cute.  The other picture is of me and Mouse Girl.  She’s my partner in crime.  My partner in having fun.  Isn’t she hubba hubba cute?

Running of the Bulls

WOW – This is all this little pig could oink this past weekend when I saw some coverage that will begin the Running of the Bulls. Really? People really put their lives in jeopardy to run through the streets of Pamplona, Spain chased by B.U.L.L.S with HORNS. I gotta ask. Are you crazy?! This is not only for one day but it is a annual nine day festival that starts today.

I understand it is a tradition. The first thing they do is take a statue of San Fermin and parade it through Pamplona. This saint is believed to ‘protect’ the runners as they are being chased by the mean bulls. And, it really did look festive on television. They even had musicians playing and singing. And they had people standing on balconies throughout the streets that watched the bulls chasing the humans. Now, I enjoyed the music, the singing and I could even watch.

But, this little pig doesn’t run that fast to participate in the running FROM the bulls – snorts. I would be a nice little snack for them. Shivers. And the actual bull run lasts about four minutes – but still I don’t think this oinker would have a chance.

So instead of ‘running’ from the bulls, I thought I would do it ‘my’ way 🙂

Last year, I carried my king size Egyptian cotton sheet from the bedroom into the front room. At times, mommy would hold it for me so I could run through it. You know, like she was fighting a ‘bull’ per say. She would call me a pigatador – snorts. It was fun and kept me busy for some time. Even daddy got into the game playing and would hold it up for me.

It was really fun. I’m not sure who it wore out faster – me, mommy or daddy. Even Hemi, the purr thing here at the Hotel Thompson, got into the action and would run through it. What can I say – we are so easily entertained!

This year, I think we are taking some of this fun out in my magical back yard.  If you see us out there, we are just practicing… nothing to fear yet – evil snorts!

Paw Time with Houdini

Hello my sweet friends – BARKS!  Welcome back to another great end of the week with me on Paw Time with Houdini.  This week, I wanted to share some insight with you on me and my dad.  We have a great relationship.  Perhaps it’s because I have him wrapped around my cute little paws?  I’ll let you be the judge of that okay.  These pictures were taken by Bacon this week when me and dad were playing one night.  Can you tell that we love each other from this first picture?  And the other pictures – me playing paddy cakes with dad and then me going all ninja with him playing – barks!  What great times we have.  Hope you enjoy the pictures – off now to find my next victim to win with my cuteness.

Paw Time with Houdini

Welcome my friends to another week of Paw Time with Houdini.  I hope you had a terrific week full of fun and treats. Next week is leading up to something special – sshh come closer – mom’s birthday is next Friday.  Can you believe that she is going to be 25 again?  I was shocked too.  But that’s our little secret.

This week at the Hotel Thompson, I’ve learned some more new things.  First up, the rug near the front door is not suppose to be chewed.  Who knew huh?  Mom says it’s one of her favorite rugs and a certain little pooch now has teeth marks in it.  What?  Looks innocent.  I wonder who did that?  Bacon?  Hemi?  Mouse Girl?  But I have to tell you that rug is intriguing.  It calls my name and taunts me.  Really it does.  Have you ever had something like that calling your name and tempting you?  It’s harsh.

This next thing I’ve learned is something that scared mom – I’m not sure why.  She lives with us anipals so she should expect the unexpected, right?  Okay look at this picture – stunning me hanging out on mom’s cchhaaiisseee.  See here is the game.  I climb up on top and when mom walks by I jump out at her.  She catches me and then nuzzles my chin and belly.  Okay I admit the first time I did it, she was shocked and surprised.  But after that, she expects it now.  I don’t do it to daddy for obvious reasons.  I don’t think he would see me.  And I’m not afraid of jumping or daddy not catching me.  Nope not me.  I’m brave.  I’m afraid of the impact on the nice wood floor – barks!

See I am smart.  Don’t let my size fool you.  I’m not short.  I’m six pounds of fun size.

And a special shout out today to Easy, mine and Bacon’s close friend and brother.  You are awesome!!  He sent me a gift for my birthday last week.  I got a package in the mail yesterday here at the crib.  All the way from France and made out to moi.  I was so excited.  I just knew it was from me.  Daddy opened the package and I was jumping all over the place telling him to hurry up.  After a gazillion hours, he finally opened it but NNOOO mom had to take a quick picture first.  BARKS!  Look at all of the goodies – a shirt, a handkerchief, Shit Happens bags, a card and a squeaky toy.  All of which say “HEART BREAKER”.  aawaw – you are awesome my sweet friend.  AND I ❤ it all… even the Shit Happens baggies… which will come in handy trust me.

But you know what was my favorite, right?  The squeeze heart. Oh my dogs!  It’s the best.  It makes a different squeak than my other toys and it’s L.O.U.D.  It’s absolutely the best.  I played with it and played with it and then played with it some more.  In fact when mom put me to bed last night, she didn’t know I had put it in my bedroom.  She and the neighbors didn’t know until they heard me playing with it around 2:00 AM.  BARKS with laughter.  Hey I dog has to play right brother?  Thanks again my friend – you are the best!

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Paw Time with Houdini

Barks my friends!  Welcome to another week of Paw Time with Houdini.  Can you believe I’m a big pooch now?  I am!  I’m a big dog – I’m ONE.  It was a great week of celebrating with Nana’s at the birthday party and then Wednesday night with mom/dad, Bacon, Mouse Girl, Hemi and the rock clan.  Don’t let those rocks fool you – they know how to PARTY!  I know we kept Bacon from his beauty sleep that night but hey a dog only turns one once, right?

I got lots of cool toys for my birthday.  My favorite – oh barks!! – it’s a ball inside of a ball.  And let me tell you my friends, I WANT THAT BALL!  It drives me crazy.  I can feel the ball inside with my paws.  I carry that ball around and bark at it and tell it to get out.  It doesn’t mind me!  Can you imagine that?  Well Bacon took a video of me trying to make that ball mind.  I thought this week I would share it with you. Enjoy my friends!

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Paw Time with Houdini

Barks my friends!  I do hope your week is going well.  Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite toys.  No, I couldn’t just pick 1 as my favorite so I’m giving you the top 4.  Thankfully mom took all of these pictures at the store when she bought them for me at different times.

First up is tuggin’ tail pig.  Isn’t he awesome? ❤  He reminds me of Bacon somewhat… okay maybe not at all except that he’s a pig – barks!  This one was a neat toy.  You see mom/dad would hold the tail and I would attack the ball in the mouth of the pig… which seems kind of weird because all I could think of was it should have been an apple – ha!

This tuggin’ tail pig was awesome – did you pick that up above?  I played with him and played with him and played with him.  Then one day, the ball broke and the piggy lost his head.  I’m not sure what happened.  I think he spontaneously blew up.  There was white stuff everywhere on the floors of the Hotel Thompson.  But tuggin’ tail pig was a good pig.  I think I had him for about a month – which was good all considering.

Then there was skunk road kill.   He is cool.  He even has tread marks across his belly showing where he has been run over by some vehicle.  He is way cool and guess what – I still have him to toss around my kingdom here.  Can you imagine the creator of this awesome toy?  Riding down the street one day perhaps to work and sees road kill on the side of the road and says to himself, “WOW – that would make a great toy.”  Barks!  I think that would be hilarious.

Have you ever seen such a fantastic skunk?  Of course, he reminds me of Peppy Le Pew but way better now – barks!

.

What do you think?  Do you see the resemblance?  Sure you do… look for the swooshy tail and white stripes – of course mine has tread marks on it – ha!

.

.

Then there is poochy.  He is also awesome – notice his rope legs that attach to his body and have paws at the end.  Mom/dad can hold a leg and I can grab the other legs for a festive tug of war challenge.  He was almost my favorite… notice I said almost.

Poochy is now called Waddles… why?  Because he has no legs.  They were pulled off by another dog… looks innocent.  What?  Isn’t that what he was for?  He still is a good dog.  I play with his body… of course minus the legs now.  I don’t have to worry about him running away from me – barks!  I couldn’t pass that one up my friends.

And he knows his commands like sit and stay.  Double barks.

But this leads us to my all time favorite toy.

.

Pirate Chicken.  Oh my dogs!  He is so very cool.  You see I had a pirate chicken before.  I loved him.  He squeaks differently and there is just something about that peg leg that drives me crazy.  He got destroyed right before we had the house renovation.

So mom/dad were shopping at the grocery store and finally found me a replacement.  Barks and does happy dance!!  I couldn’t believe that my favorite toy in the entire world was replaced.  I run around the Hotel Thompson with it in my mouth, throwing it up in the air, attacking it and shaking it all around.  It is totally awesome!

I feel like my entire life is complete now with the second coming of pirate chicken.  Do you have any favorite toys that you can’t live without?  Do share my friends.

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Paw Time with Houdini

Hey my friends and welcome to another week of my Paw Time with Houdini.  Things have been a little scattered around here lately.  Summer is right around the corner and with that comes heat – which the oinker hates and I can’t blame him one tiny little bit.  Also some has a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks – whistles and looks all innocent and cute.  Mom has started her DIEt thingy again and is making daddy do it with her.  This is hilarious – why do you ask?  Cause mommy whines.  I know!  I didn’t know that either.  But apparently here and this thing called chocolate have a love/hate relationship.  Mommy loves it but she hates what it does to her butt.  Barks!  Anyone else have that problem?

A while back my friends Samuel and Wallace sent all of us a care package here at the Hotel Thompson.  One of the things they sent was pupcorn.  I gotta tell you, I absolutely ❤ that stuff!  Mommy puts it in a little dish for me and her and dad will let me eat out of it after dinner.  Oh my puppy!  It’s so good!  But I eat politely.  I take one little piece from the container, eat it and then go back for more.  All during this time, my sweet daddy will hold the container for me.  Isn’t that awesome?!

And don’t worry, daddy also gives the purr things and the oinker a piece here/there as well.  And yep, they love it too.  We love eating this pupcorn when our favorite movies come on the Animal Planet.  Who wouldn’t, right?  So my friends Samuel and Wallace – thank you bunches and bunches from all of us anipals here at the Hotel Thompson  – Ya’ll rock!

And another funny thing.  I’m a Yorkshire Terrier and we can be known for being how shall I say this – more active than a runner in a marathon – barks!  I’m on the constant go-go-go, running around the Hotel Thompson, jumping off the pig like he’s my personal trampoline and chasing the purr things – or them chasing me!

Well when I land, I land HARD.  Mommy says I sleep like a rock at times.  Daddy says that when I sleep, I’m his little angel – barks!  But don’t worry – when I sleep, I’m dreaming of the things I love to do… like running some more!

.

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Paw Time with Houdini

Barks!  Hello my friends to another great week of Paw Time with Houdini.  Summer is slowly sneaking in on us here at the Hotel Thompson.  I’m kind of looking forward to Summer.  I know Bacon is not because of the heat.  But I have reasons for Summer.  This Summer means I become a big boy.  That’s right.  You heard it right.  I become a big boy of ONE.  Nice huh?  I will no longer be a mere puppy.  I will be a grown up doggy.

This week I also got to do something that I absolutely LOVE.  I went to the worky place with mommy – told you fun times.  You see, I wasn’t feeling too well one morning.  Mommy thought it would be best if I went with her so she could watch me.

I gotta tell you.  That’s a fun place to go to hang out for the day.  You can see in this picture that I was trying to do some yoga to get the icky germs out of me.  This is my upward pooch pose.  I was having so much fun with it.  For some reason every time I did it, mom got all aaww and gave me kisses.

Later after I got tired, I crawled up on mom’s desk and went to sleep.  Don’t worry.  I didn’t keep her from working.  I tried to help her.  I got to stay here for the longest time.  I just slept and watched mommy work.  There’s lots of neat flashy things that go across her computer screen.  And don’t forget the sounds – they are awesome.

But do you know what was the best?  All of mom’s co-workers stopped by the office to chat with me.  Some of them even played with me.  Heck by the time I got home, I was kind more tired than usual.  It’s hard looking this cute and playing so hard.

It was really cool to spend time with mommy this date.  I look forward to it again. Maybe next time I won’t feel so under the weather

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Paw Time with Houdini

Barks my friend.  Hope you had a terrific week. I know last week I showed you a picture of me on mom’s chaise.  This week, I’m attaching a picture of me on dad’s sofa.  I like to take my power naps high up on his pillows.  They are so soft and comfy!

I also wanted to tell you about a new game I’ve learned this week.  It’s called Hide and go Seek.  It’s awesome!  Every night around 8:30-9:00PM, it’s bedtime for us anipals.  Mom tells us to go get settled in our room and she will be in there soon.  Bacon goes like a champ he is.  But me… why?  Why do I need a bedtime?  So I usually just keep hanging out in the living room with dad until mom goes to our room to tuck us in and tell us a story.

Well my new game is not to be caught – barks.  That’s right I said it.  Not be caught and not do what I’m told.  I will hide under the couch or the chaise or on the bottom shelf of the book shelf.  Mom tries to find me.  And then when she sees me, I run to the next spot thus playing hide and go seek.  I mean hey the woman needs her exercise, right?  Then mom does something weird.  When she FINALLY catches me, she fusses at me.  What?  Maybe I don’t want to go to bed – yawns – maybe I’m a big dog now – double yawns.  I don’t need no stinkin’ bedtime.  Passes out asleep before mom can put me in bed…..

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!
