Paw Time with Houdini

Another week down my friends.  It was a busy week with mom/dad’s anniversary and Bacon’s birthday but it was a fun week.  Bacon has also been busy getting ready for his 31 Days of Spook in October and of course mom has started her DIEt again for the gazillionth time – rolls puppy eyes.  Do all women go through this?  Please tell me yes – barks!

The weather here has started getting cooler.  Bacon is loving that.  I myself am not sure.  This six pound body gets cold like you wouldn’t believe.  A couple of nights, mom has made a fire (by flipping the switch – barks with laughter).  I crawl up in her lap on her chaise to feel the heat and watch the flames.  That is the life my friends.  And don’t you love my shirt?  I got it just for Bacon to pick on him.  He’s not too fond of it for some unknown reason?  Maybe because it makes my butt look small?

Oh, and this is hilarious.  When mom/dad came home Sunday from their night out, guess what happened?  The toilet decided it didn’t want to work anymore and wouldn’t flush.  Isn’t that awesome?  So mom had to go the local Home Depot store to pick up what she called a flapper.  I wouldn’t let her out of my sight so guess who got to go with her?  Yep that would be me.  I was her assistant. So we went together.  That place is cool.  The smells are funny but there was so many people that wanted to pet me and oohh and aaww over me.  Of course, I ate that up!  I was the main attraction in the plumbing aisle.

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Barks my friends!  What a busy past couple of weeks we have had here at the Hotel Thompson.  So much going on with mommy.  She is really trying to feel better these days and has been to the doctor a couple of times.  It has a lot to do with the weather changing and getting a little bit cooler.  It’s really messing with Mr. Arthritis.  He seems like such a mean person.  I wish I could meet him.  I would bite his ankles for what he does to mom and dad at times.

I gotta tell you a story about someone I did meet this weekend here at the Hotel Thompson – right in my living room too.  There I was playing around in front of the fireplace.  That’s when i saw this other pooch staring at me.  Do you see him in the pictures below?  What the barks was he doing in *my* front room and how did he get in.  I stopped what I was doing, stared him down and barked like crazy at him.  But oh no, he kept hiding in the fireplace – what a wuss!

I sat there and waiting patiently – of course throwing in some growls and barks.  Then mom saw me and asked me what was going on.  Then she told me something amazing.  She said it was me in what she called a reflection in the glass.  OMD!!  No wonder that dog looked so handsome – it was me!  Barks – Barks – Barks

Happy Friday my friends!!  Hope you have had a wonderful week.  We are all trying to get back to ‘normal’ or whatever that is around here at the Hotel Thompson.  I know mom has had a tough week so this morning I showed her some one-on-one time with me.  I know that *always* brings a smile to her face.  And better yet, I played with one of my new toys that I go this week.

Let me introduce you to Binky.  And shaking head up and down, it’s exactly what that is – a doggy pacifier.  Can you belief that?  Of course, this one squeaks to the high heavens and can wake the neighbors it’s so loud – barks!  I think that’s why I like it so much – it’s loud.  Mom has re-thought buying it several times – well that’s what she has told daddy because of the noise.  One night, I played with it making noises for 45 minutes straight.  It was a grand old time.  All the way through watching Jeopardy, I thought mom/dad would say something but they never did.  What parents huh?  Cause I tried really hard that night to get on their last nerves but it never worked.  I think I may be losing.  Perhaps I need some tips from my doggy friends – any suggestions?

Barks!  Hello my friends to another weeks edition of Paw Time with Houdini.  This week I have lots to share with you.  This week I got to go to work with mommy!  Let me tell you – that is some fun stuff.  All week long she kept telling me that one day this week she would bring me.  Every day, I kept waiting at the front door.  Finally the day came.  She got my “work” shirt out and changed my clothes.  Then, it was off to the worky place!

But first, we went through a local drive thru for some breakfast.  When they saw me in my “work” shirt, they asked if I could have some nuggets for breakfast.  Mom said yes and they gave me my big boy breakfast too just like mom’s.  It was so cool.  I gave them a high five and then we went to worky place.  Of course, I came in and made it be known that I was on patrol now – no more games today – barks!  I ate my breakfast and made some rounds with mom.  Peeps kept talking about how skilled I was.  I would walk around with mom and when she stopped to chat, I would stop at her feet and sit.  They said I was ‘trained’.  I say I gotta act right because I like coming to the worky place, right?  Every once in a while, mom would make sure we did our rounds, took potty breaks and checked in with everyone.  You know – just to make sure everyone was behaving – barks.

And then when I wasn’t on patrol, I crawled up on mom’s desk to help her out.  You know with counting and typing and keeping her organized.  It’s a hard job but someone has to do it, right?  She got a lot done this day because she had my toes to help with her counting.

I also helped her make her phone calls, type correspondence and gave it all my paw of approval.  After a while, more of her co-workers came in and checked me out.  They were all taking a break later and went into the huge garage area to play some b-ball… you know basketball.  I asked mom if I could go too and she let me.

It was a great time!  I got to run with the big boys and practice my dribbling.  I even shot a ball off the rim… of course with some assistance from one of my teammates.  Who says little dogs can’t jump.  Look for me soon in the NBA my friends!

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Barks!  Another week down and YAY! for the upcoming weekend my friends.  I hope all of you had an outstanding week.  Mom is finally back up to feeling better – we are so glad here at the Hotel Thompson.  Don’t you just hate it when the mommy is feeling bad?  Bacon finally got her persuaded to send off some gift packages this week too.  Hopefully they will be arriving in the next couple of weeks.  We had a great Going Away Party for Bashful and Chip before he sailed off to places unknown for their next adventure.  Where or where will they land?

Last week I told you about mommy taking me to a new groomer.  I went last Saturday and it’s great to report that I loved it!  Usually I have a little bit of mommy anxiety when she leaves me or I can’t see her.  But the day of my new groom visit, she dropped me off and not one little whimper or bark out of me.  Not one.  See, I was a big dog.

This picture of me to the left wearing my green shirt was my “before” picture.  Can you believe that I had just been groomed by my old groomer like three weeks before?  You can’t even tell!  I like to have the shorter hair because that way my shirts and other clothes fit better.

So mom, dropped me off at my new groomer shop called Poodles by Bob (who by the way does all kinds of dogs – not just poodles) and picked me up after running some errands.  Below you will see my “after” pictures.  I think they did a fantastic job, don’t you?  I especially like how they layered my legs so that my fur doesn’t get all tangled with my clothes.

Oh my friends – what a week!  We’ve all been trying to get mommy feeling better here at the Hotel Thompson.  I think she is *finally* getting there.  This weekend, there are no plans for any marathon errand runs…. well maybe there is one errand to be completed.  Mom has been on mission to find me a new groomer.  Someone that can do me more often than every other month and doesn’t cost a kidney.  It’s been hard work!  I’ve seen her searching and looking.  In fact, her and dad even brought me somewhere this week and walked right back out of the place.  Mom picked up bad vibes and of course she goes with them.  Has your human ever done that?

Well, she found me a place.  She called the business and immediately hit it off with the owner – they talked for over 15 minutes about me.  I have an appointment to see them tomorrow for the ‘works’.  Happy Spa Day to me huh?   Of course, the first trip costs the most but after that every month will be half to stay on the maintenance plan.  Mom likes that.  And of course, I kind of do too for the Spa treatment 🙂  I’ll keep you posted on the progress of my new place.

Also this week, I want to let you know that mom has been cooking more here at the Hotel Thompson.  She finally realized that the big hot box on the floor is not a paperweight but a real cooking appliance called the oven… okay those were daddy’s words – barks.  One day this week, she made home made Chinese noodles with veggies and meat.  And I’ll tell you my friends, it was super good.  How do I know?  Because mom fed me with chopsticks.  You don’t believe me?  Look at the pictures below.  Mom would click them together and I would immediately open my mouth.  Spoiled much?  Barks!  Of course now.

Barks my friends.  I do hope that your week has gone by quickly and without any bumps in the road.  I have so been taking it easy this week.  Last week wore me out filling in for my bigger brother Bacon.  Not that I’m complaining because I’m not.  I never knew how much that oinker worked on his blog – WOW!  It kept me hopping like you wouldn’t believe.  It’s been so awesome to have him back at the Hotel Thompson.

You are probably asking what I did this week with all of this new found freedom I have since I don’t have the blog.  Let me just show you.

I just couldn’t get enough rest – barks!  I can’t tell you how many times mom found me like this – as she said, “Passed out cold” on the sofa.  I just couldn’t help it.  I think I might need a vacation now.  What do you think?  Yawns.

Well that’s all for me my friends – double yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Barks my friends.  Finally, this week is over.  It has been so LONG!  Really it has.  It’s been quiet here at the Hotel Thompson without my bigger brother Bacon who is away in Summer Camp.  It’s just been me and the two purr things  That’s a hard life.  Really it is.  Hemi (who thinks he is in charge here) can be a big bully sometimes.  He’s been chasing me around and Bacon is not here to protect me.  That stinks.

Everyday I wait at the front door overlooking our kingdom just waiting for Saturday to roll around.  Don’t get me wrong, life has still continued here.  And boy has it.  I’ll tell you a little secret that I’ve learned this week.  Come here closer to the computer screen.  Mom has made a HUGE change in something here.  I mean H.U.G.E.  You will NOT believe what she has done.  I mean heck me and dad couldn’t believe it.  We were shocked.  And let me tell you who is going to be more shocked – Bacon.

Mom and dad are letting me go with them tomorrow to pick him up from Summer Camp.  Can’t wait until he sees what they have done.

Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Hello my friends – barks!  This week has been a little hectic here at the Hotel Thompson.  We’ve been trying to get mommy back up and going on her feet.  She is walking somewhat faster than a turtle now and her catch in her giddy up seems to be subsiding some.  She still has mean old Mr Arthur nipping at her right hip but hopefully soon she can slap him off.  Mom has also been getting Bacon ready for his camp – he leaves tomorrow for seven entire days.  Mommy is standing her ground but between you and me, I saw her crying a bit the other day.  I think she is going to miss that pig more than she is letting on.  And to tell you the truth, I think us anipals will too.

This week we also went and spent some time with Nana at her house for a visit.  All mommy had to do was tell me, “Let’s go see Nana, Tinkerbelle and Dingo.”  I was at the front door before mom/dad – barks!  Daddy was trying to catch some sleep while we were visiting.  Personally, I think he got comfortable and cool and was out like a light.  But don’t worry, Tinkerbelle checked on him to make sure he was still breathing – BOL.  And Dingo crawled up beside him for some quick zzz’s too.  I’m glad to report that Dingo is growing and getting bigger.  He still seems all legs to me – but I guess that’s because I’m so small.

While Dingo and Tinkerbelle were checking out daddy, I was getting my Nana time.  Well that’s all for me my friends – yawns – I hope you had a wonderful week as well.  Happy weekend!

Any Suggestions My Friends?

I’ve been patient my friends this week.  I’ve tried to reason with mom/dad about this Summer Camp thing but it’s on.  I’ve settled with that. Mom wants me to know life as a regular pig – something should would be upset with if I never knew.  I’m okay with that.

While mom packed my bags, I supervised from my bed watching.  She really does have my best interests at heart.  I’m bringing my Egyptian cotton sheet for my bed.  I’m used to sleeping with that and it’s comfort.  She also packed my framed picture of me and her that I usually have on my bedside in my bedroom.  We can bring one electronic item – no cell phones.  I’m packing my laptop so I can still write from Summer Camp.  We can only use it at night time – not during the day when we have activities.  She packed me a care box with sunscreen – did you know that piggies can get sunburned if we stay in the sun too long?  We can.  She also packed some of my favorite snacks like my Gold Fish, Animal Crackers and some of my favorite grape flavored bottled water.

Can you think of anything else I might need?
