Journal to Healthier Living – Week 24

Welcome my friends.  I’m tweaking my weekly journey with my healthier living.  It’s a step in the right direction for sure.  I hope you come along for the ride.  Instead of day-to-day comments, I’m going to post something from my personal journal to share.  Hope you enjoy.  Remember all of us go down this path and we are all in it together ❤

Week of  06/17-06/23/2018 – Week 24

“Dear Journal – “When did life become a hurry?  Everyone seems to be in such a rush.  People flying down the road – they have to be first.  The same person that was behind you has to go around you to be in front.  People are rushing through the stores cutting in front of you and grabbing things.  People constantly talking on their cell phones.  Life needs to slow down.  People need to slow down.  What happened to sitting on the deck just breathing and relaxing?  People are constantly multi-tasking.  I think this week I will slow a bit.  Relax.  Sit and enjoy dinner with the family.  Talk.  Enjoy just being together and not rushing.”

Miles walked:  5.27

TOTAL 2018 Miles:  166.01

TOTAL 2017 Miles:  541.06

Houdini is Behind the Wheel – OH NO!

So Houdini gets to drive the new Jeep and I can’t?  How wrong is that picture might I ask?  Look mom, his paws don’t touch the gas pedals either.  I want my turn!  See, I found these pictures.  Nope, I wasn’t snooping on mom’s iPhone either.  See mom forgot about this called the Cloud.  It holds everything – snorts with piggy laughter.  Her pictures get saved to the Cloud therefore I don’t *need* her iPhone anymore – ha!  Just don’t tell her okay my friends.

So I see this picture of the little guy driving the Jeep.  I’m like so that’s what he gets to do when he goes out with mom.  Boogers – I want to drive too!  Then I’m like why are they stopped?  And is Houdini’s paw on the horn – why?  Then I saw the next picture and went that’s why!  There was a geese crossing in downtown Jonesboro.  I guess that would stop traffic… as if a dog driving wouldn’t stop it before that – snorts with piggy laughter!

And I wonder where these geese were going?  To get to the other side of the railroad tracks?

Mommy Is So Silly!

My mom is so crazy!  She was driving around in Albert the other day with me and daddy.  She put her car blinker on way before she needed to and daddy asked her why?  That’s when she told him, “At my age, I don’t necessarily use blinkers to let others know where I’m going.  I use them to remind myself where *I’m* going.”

Silly mommy.

Mommy Time Out

Usually I am the one getting into trouble at the Hotel Thompson and serving the time for the crime. But this time, it was mommy – snorts.

Apparently driving home last night from the worky place mommy got all worked up and frustrated. What takes her normally 15 minutes to get home took her 35 minutes tonight. When she got home, she went off like a firecracker on the Fourth of July. It’s very rare to see mommy like this. In fact, I really can’t remember mom having a time out. But, she did last night. Daddy sent her to her room for a time out. I’m not sure who was more shocked. Me or mommy – snorts. But it was all in good fun.

She served her time and came out after a while. Finally we all listened to mommy ramble and get everything off of her chest. I have to admit, some of it was funny. See how many of these traffic situations you’ve been against while you’ve been behind the wheel.

1. Car signals. Mommy said that they are on the car for a reason. It lets the people behind you know of your intentions when driving. I guess some people don’t understand that simple notion. They go left or right without a signal or immediately stop for no reason out of the blue. Then there are the people that turn a right signal on and then turn left or vice versa.

2. I admit this next one cracked me up. Mommy said sometimes when you are driving, people need to get in front of you for a number of different reasons. You know, coming out of a lane, a business, etc. But when you let them, the nice thing to do is to wave as a little thank you. Mommy says it totally frustrates her that a lot of times people don’t thank you. She said she would even take ‘that’ hand gesture to acknowledge her gesture of kindness. And we all know what “that” hand gesture is – snorts.

3. What’s the rush? Mommy says it is totally frustrating to have someone behind you riding your bumper. They are in such a hurry that they go around you and get in front of you just to turn at the next exit. Really? What is the rush? You saved what – 2 seconds?

Have you ever experienced these types of driving frustrations? Can you relate to mommy?

Dear Bacon

20130319-111324.jpgDear Bacon,

I need some help.  I experience a lot of road rage when I’m driving these days.  Any suggestions?  Signed Mad Cat

Dear Mad Cat,

First of all let’s just start with, what the heck are you thinking?  Step away from the back of the wheel.  That might be the problem in itself.  You should not be driving my furry little animal.  Leave that crazy behavior to the humans.  Step away!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

20130319-111337.jpgDear Bacon,

Just to show you, you’re not the only little four legged animal to be surfing the net.  I’m forever doing it myself while the missus sits on the couch behind me watching television.  Man, we can learn a lot from that internet, can’t we?  Signed Dog in Charge

Dear Dog in Charge,

You got that right my friend.  The internet is huge.  Some of the things I find are unreal!  I’m glad to see you computer savy.  I may have to get you to write an article for my blog!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

20130319-111438.jpgDear Bacon,

The humans – they are so funny… well they think they are.  The master put this watermelon on my head and then called me a melon head.  I don’t get it.  Do you?  Signed Melon Head

Dear Melon Head,

I don’t get the saying but I do get the watermelon.  I love me some watermelon.  They can put it on my little head but it won’t stay there that long.  I will eat that watermelon rind in about 3 minutes flat!  Yum – Yum!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

20130319-111502.jpgDear Bacon,

As you know, when we find that comfy spot – we go for it.  This is how the master found me.  But I was good.   Really, I was.  Signed Contortionist Pooch

Dear Contortionist Pooch,

WOW – that is quite the pretzel sleep look you got going there.  I’m all about getting into that one position that makes the Sandman come but that takes the top spot.  I don’t really have that kind of flexibility with you know my pot belly and everything.  You actually might have a career in the circus with the way that you can bend.

It kind of makes me hurt just looking at that position.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

20130319-111535.jpgDear Bacon,

You know how they say people wear their hearts on their sleeves?  Well, I wear mine on my hind quarters.  What do you think?  Signed Love

Dear Love,

I have to admit I snorted and giggled.  That was funny my friend.  That is quite the birthmark you have there.  I think it’s kind of cute.  I like it my friend!  Wear it with pride.
